Gracie Espindola, aka: Boss Lady, Chef Extraordinaire, is not only the heart behind the business but is also the talent. Graciez also known as Graziezgrindz808 can be found on IG under that same name. Found them at this past New Product Show being held at the Blaisdell Center. My table mates had this amazing looking plate of pastele stew. Yasss! Exactly what I was craving for. Usually make the trek into Kalihi for pasteles or Waipahu for pastele stew and empanada. Let me tell you, the food that I was about to experience knocked them out of the ballpark as far as taste goes. The person sitting next to me and I both said that we might have to return the next day to the Blaisdell JUST so we could eat Gracie's delicious cooking again! What I had: Meat pastele. Filled with goodness bursting with flavor. 10/10 Pastele stew - best I have EVER had. Shhh dont tell my Puerto Rican friends whom I humbly enjoy their home cooking when offered. 12/10 Gandule Rice - yes please! 10/10 Macaroni salad- you don't understand... I don't usually eat this dish. It was the first thing I finished on my plate. All of this came in a combination plate/container so heavy I was afraid it would break. Yes, I did take much of it home. Look for them at various popup events or better yet, let them cater your next gathering! Thank you Graciez for totally ruining me for all other Puerto Rican cooking. I will find your booth and enjoy again! Can't wait to try those advertised pastele pork hash and pastele musubi! Say whaaaa?!? Yumm !

I always order all my cakes from Gracie'z. She definitely puts love into them and you can tell. I…read morehighly recommend trying her Pastele/Pastele stew combo! It comes with one Pastele smothered in Pastele stew, gandule rice and mac salad.

Tried this food truck for the first time at the What the Truck in Waikele. They are only at the…read morewaikele event on the first Fridays. We ordered the Cajun garlic butter shrimp and the lemon beurre blanc ahi. Both plates were really tasty! Fresh ahi, and the shrimp was cleaned. Plates came with potato mac salad and rice. The owner was very friendly as well! They sold out of the bao buns early otherwise we would've tried those too. Those looked delicious. We'll definitely be back!

We had Bobby cater our wedding in November and the food was such a hit! We would recommend them…read moreover and over again! Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families. The taste, the value, the service... it really can't be beat. We've already decided we'll be tracking down his foodtruck whenever we can!

The portions will astound you, but not flavor is sacrificed! My corned beef hash was yummy! The mac was milder for my preference, but still good. Rice was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend's shoyu chicken was so good. I loveee their Andagi but so does everyone else! They sell out quick so be sure to go early. Best Andagi on island! The staff radiate aloha. They probably work very busy days, yet keep a smile on their faces! Very efficient too. We got our food before my boyfriend finished paying! Free parking, but no where to dine. We ate in our car! Would recommend everyone try out Ige's! Be sure to check their social media for special hours and specialities!

Two weeks ago, I saw a group on FB called 808 Best Lunch Wagons, Restaurants & Entertainments that…read moresomeone had posted the menu for Ige's and saw that Wednesday they would have baked spaghetti, my favorite going to school. Wednesday, had the internet fixed in the morning, picked up my cousin at 10:30 and she gave me directions to Ige's because all this time, I didn't know they were still in business. Oops. Ige's is located in the Waimalu area behind Goodwill on Kam Hwy. There's several small businesses back there and all these driveways, you can miss this place easily. On the main driveway, there's a bike path that crosses it, and an old guard shack. After this, you want to take the second driveway on the left. You know you're going down the right path when you see Guieb restaurant on the left, which I also didn't know was here. And drive all the way to the end. Ige's is the very last store on the left. You'll see the lunch line. They are only open for lunch from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9:30 am - 1 pm, so you should plan ahead. The regular menu differs each day and for now, the daily specials have remained unchanged. But to make sure, check out their IG @igesaiea. When you get there, they do have some grab and goes that are not advertised. As far as pricing, they are pretty reasonable, regular plates are between $13 - $16. However, the portions, let's say it's really heavy. My cousin got a mixed plate of chicken hekka and pork teriyaki. And I got the baked spaghetti, no rice, with toss and Mac salad. And the spaghetti filled half the plate with a good amount of height. Ige's is counter only, a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Therefore there are no seats. I asked my cousin if she wanted to grab a table at Neal Blaisdell park down the street and she quickly declined. So we drove back to her house for lunch. My cousin did enjoy her chicken hekka and pork. I'm didn't get to taste it because I was too involved with my meal. At first glance, it wasn't the brick, lasagna-style like school where there was a thick layer of cheese on top. However, without the cheese, it was still tasted the same from what I could remember. Because the portion is heavy, my cousin could only eat a fourth of her lunch while I thought I better tap out at 1/3. So she didn't need to make dinner for her family while I had dinner and lunch for the next day. Although the interaction was short, the counter person was pleasant and very helpful. As you look into the kitchen, you can see a lot of people hustling back there as they also do catering. I'll be away for two weeks but I am looking forward to picking up lunch when I get back and I am definitely brining family here, I just need to figure out a good place for a picnic.
