We adore the town of Ontonagon and Syl's is always a stop for us when we're here. This charming diner has traditional pasties, breakfast food, and other great lunch options. We haven't been for dinner, but I'm sure it's just as wonderful. The to go to orders for my family are always a pastie with gravy, the wild rice cranberry turkey melt, and I always get the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings. Portions are enormous here, the picture of my chicken sandwich has the bun smashed down so it was easier to fit in my mouth without dislocating my jaw lol. This is also my favorite chicken sandwich I've ever had, ANYWHERE. Service is great even though they're understaffed, so please be patient. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive and treat their locals well. Got a taste for a sweet treat? Great news because Syl's has a pastry case and even has cake and pie, all freshly made. He kept our drinks filled, other patrons checked on and the neighboring tables cleared and wiped immediately. This young man is a credit to his family and his excellent work ethic.
