My standards of expectation with 4.7 star rated food in my opinion seems much higher than the type of person that would believe this is anything near 4.7. Whoever eats from Pats Chicago Dogs and sadly believes it's anything near a 4.7 than in your puny mind is a McDonalds cheeseburger a 9 ?. A chili cheese dog is great and it doesn't need to be complicated to make. But the least you can do is serve it with a homemade signature chili. Anyone can buy a cheap pack of hot dog buns and hot dogs and put one teaspoon of cold slimy hormel canned chili on it. I'll continue to make my own food as long as I live in Indiana since 95% of restaurants here are mediocre and sad. Im surprised theirs more fast food than their is trees in this state, no wonder everyone who's in their 30s look like their 80. I should take a trip to Chicago and see if theirs any places with enough decency and passion to serve their own signature chili. I should've went to portillos instead. I could've ordered the same canned chili for the same price I paid for Pats Chicago Dogs and still been ripped off but at least I could've had a cake shake. read more

We love this place! The fries are SO good! They have corn dogs! And root beer floats! I have never had anything here I didn't like. It's a local business, so that's great. There is a cute little patio with shade trees in front for outdoor dining when the weather is good. The best thing about Pat's is that the people that work there are really nice. Go have a corn dog, hand cut french fries, a root beer float, and some funnel fries! Leave a funny message on a Post-it note, too! read more

My family visited Pat's Chicago Dogs twice while we were visiting family in North Webster. We are from Chicago. Both times were absolutely delicious! The staff is very friendly and got our personalized orders correct both times. The atmosphere feels quaint, homey, and casual, which we appreciate! RRR and I have been coming here for yonks and have loved their hotdogs..alot. These are the classic Chicago dog, Vienna brand dog with tomato, dill pickle spear, mustard, sweet relish, chopped onions, a sprinkle of celery salt on a poppy seed bun. I like theirs better than Portillos in Chicago! ! Add an order of their deep fried mushrooms and we're in heaven (although we might get to heaven a little sooner than we should eating like this! ) They have quite an extensive menu for a little sandwich place but I can't discuss anything else, love the hotdogs too much to get anything else. This review comes with mixed feelings. We were visiting lake wawasee and Pat's showed up in Yelp (the bible) as highly recommended. First few days of the trip we were unable to visit - closed for lack of staff. Finally we were able to get in on Saturday evening. Grateful we planned on a takeout order - it was at least 10 degrees warmer in the restaurant than outside. The staff took our order with minimal issues. The bag of chicago dog inspired goodness tantalized our senses the whole 10 minute ride back to our cottage. We ordered 2 chicago dogs, 1 polish sausage and 1 italian beef with a few modifications and 1 order of onion rings. The bag was expertly packed for our travel. The dogs were fine - the tomatoes and pickles were unpleasant - both majorly mutilated during the slicing process . they were otherwise Ok. Italian beef had good flavor but the bread seemed stale despite the au jus. I suspect the limited staff is contributing to slow business. I would likely try it again but not in a hurry. read more

Fantastic food! Had a Chicago dog, onion rings, and a Wonderbar for dessert. Amazing, all of it! It's not a fancy place, but the food is so good that it will make you forget about where you are and take you all the way to downtown Chicago. I was in town for the weekend and I truly wish we had eaten here for every meal. Perfect Chicago dog and the onion rings were worth every penny. And the Wonderbar....holy moly! While recently visiting Syracuse I saw Pats Chicago Dogs, having grown up in Illinois I and wanted to give it a try. I'm extremely impressed by the cleanliness, the service and the most by the authenticity of the dogs. I had a Ruben dog with kraut, it was all beef, fresh and juicy, the kraut was perfectly prepared. The bun was fresh, dusted in poppy seeds and tasty. I will definitely recommend this great little place to friends and I look forward going back on my next visit to Lake Wawasee. read more

The best diner car look and Chicago inspired interior make it a neat place to eat for both children and adults. Pat's I love you. My family is from Chicago and I crave Chicago dogs regularly. You are the only place outside of Chicago that I have found that tastes just as good as the hot dogs in the city. During lake house season we make the trip to Pat's at least twice a month. --The atmosphere is great. Chicago theme of course. --The restaurant is tiny, but it's hot dogs so people move in and out fast enough. --The people are friendly and the owner is the nicest. Love Pat's! Who knew you could get such a great tasting Chicago dog outside of Chicago!? The fries are delicious too. Went there for lunch today with some friends from work. I placed my order and handed the lady my debit card, only to be told I had to have a $10 minimum order to use it. Their prices are expensive enough as it is, then you're telling me I have to spend more? My $8.65 order wasn't good enough? Fine, I'll take my money elsewhere. I understand that fees for businesses can be costly, but it's the cost of doing business in the 21st century. Besides, your agreement with Visa that allows you to have a minimum purchase does not apply to debit cards, even when they are run with a signature.
