Walk around and behind the store and then up the dirt road leading between greenhouses. The cidery is on the right. The front part has a few tall tables and the bar. Go through the doorway to the left of the bar and it opens up to a huge space with picnic tables. Beyond that is a huge fire pit and Adirondack chairs. It's a really cute spot.

The inside is the tasting room is chic and classy with awesome bar service. Our bartender was super friendly and helpful. We did a tasting of their for four regular hard ciders: Slingshot, Redfield, Rosé and Wild (sadly, they were out of ice cider). Our favorite was Slingshot-- clean, crisp flavor as described! The flight is reasonably priced at $14 and is served in the cutest glasses. Definitely will return! Hopefully we'll get to try ice cider next time!

The owner seems very dedicated to having live music and supporting the arts so they had a band playing that actually sounded good! Lots of young families around enjoying the lawn games. Local ciders and beers were reasonably priced and tasty. I'm usually not the biggest fan of either but I ended up trying a peanut butter cider that turned out to be absolutely delicious. Not too sweet or tart and tasted actually quite natural. Ended up taking a growler home to share with friends. We weren't hungry so we didn't try the food but they had a chicken barbecue going and were selling cheese boards that looked pretty great. The bathroom situation is port-o-potties but to my surprise and delight they were actually clean and they offer a handwashing station outside. A++ recommend and would return.

What a cool spot…read more We've been trying to support small, local business throughout this covid mess, and stumbled upon Berkshire Cider Project on a visit to the area - I'm not usually a hard cider person, but figured it was worth a shot. Such a pleasant surprise! The owners are a sweet couple from the area and were so welcoming. They poured us tastes of the cider at their cute takeout window, and I was blown away - did not think cider could taste so good. They even offered some suggestions of places to eat in the area! We were bowled over by the kindness of strangers, even during a pandemic, and made sure to grab a few bottles to take home. What an unexpected treat!

Nine Pin serves up excellent cider and impeccable service. Flights are available with four or nine varieties. Signature started things off, signaling that Nine Pin is a purist, or at least traditionalist, rather than a drinkable dessert purveyor. (Availability may vary; Yelpers aren't legally liable for enticing descriptions of beverages that may not be available during your visit). Per the above disclaimer, I feel vaguely guilty about mentioning W.A.R.P., as I may have been there for the final days of this fall offering. which isn't currently listed on the website. This stands for Wild Apples of the Rensselaer Plateau and it lived up to the iconoclastic description. Pear was smooth and subtle. Given Nine Pin's proclivities, Black Cherry may have been the perfect match, sweeter than its peers but not cloying. An encore 4-drink flight meant a tough choice in skipping one of the 9, but the knowledgeable and generous bartender (cidertender? cider king?) gave me a sample of a hops variety (exact name forgotten) that was very appealing. I had feared it would be too close to beer. Belgian, which is Signature fermented with Belgian Abbey Ale Yeast, felt sort of beer-adjacent so it was my least favorite. Ginger Mule was enjoyable, sweet than expected. Imperial was like the movie PCU, great start but lost some appeal by the end. Cranberry was refreshing, one level less sweet than cherry. Since too much positivity is boring, I'll end on this note: why doesn't "the world's greatest city" have a place like this? Wallingford, Salem and Wallkill can enjoy cider flights but NYC? Oh well, at least the brilliant Nine Pin Cider is only a PATH, Amtrak and two buses away.
