The auction earned only about $3,100 after commissions of 35% but the move cost nearly $6,500 which seemed very expensive for moving such a short distance into a two bedroom apartment, even with the settling in service. Friends of mine have done similar moves with settling in for much less cost. In the online auction, it seemed as though items were grouped together that were unrelated so this probably reduced the value of the lots. Also, they started everything at only $1 which also seemed to contribute to the low sale values. There have been several items that I was never able to find after the auction and move, including some gold jewelry, a Rookwood vase, my measuring cups, some of my pans, a box of cat toys, and other miscellaneous items. Things that I was able to find were often in odd places where I'd have never expected them to be put, like a gardening trowel found in a mixing bowl in the pantry.

Filled out the paperwork with Nell and thought I'd get a copy of the consignment etc.. in the mail. That didn't happen, but I trusted them since I'd known them both for years and never had a bad experience on the buying side of things. I saw a few of my items listed for auction initially some doing well, but the company has the site set up so that when the item sells you can't see what it sold for, and can't bring up past auction results. Totally opaque and perfect for funny business. It's middle of July, have stopped at the building in Hamilton Ohio where I dropped things off, it's abandoned, and have called and left messages, no response. I'll file complaint with State of Ohio, but judging by other reviews, that will be to no avail since this type of thing has been going on for years. People and businesses scam all the time, especially when it comes to government money, so Joe is going about it all wrong, penny-ante hustler.
