I wanted to get an introduction before meeting for an hour. I gave all my info and chart was created. I was told I would receive an email with the login 15 before my appointment. I call day of when I still have not received any information and apparently my appointment was never fully scheduled. When I asked about getting scheduled I was still for my insurance information even though the consultation was supposed to be free. They told me there was a 12pm appointment available but they would call me back and make sure it was scheduled. When they called back I was told for "that type of appointment" (read free and they can't charge you), the earliest available slot was a week out. Very unorganized and disappointing--would not recommend. If it is this bad when you are trying to start to get help, then what would happen if really needed it

He is witty and has excellent chair side manners...very personable. He made some medication changes to address my concerns. No doctor has taken my insomnia as seriously as he has. So far so good. He also suggested bringing in my husband to get feedback from him. The only draw-back for me is his location. I live almost two hours from his office but I highly recommend him.

I ended up switching to his office, because my previous primary care provider refused to even consider giving me a prescription to address anxiety issues, even though I had a recommendation from another healthcare provider. Dr. Rodriguez listened attentively and addressed all of my concerns. He really takes his time with each patient. Dr. Rodriguez is now part of the MdVIP program, so we switched to PA Heather and PA Jerry. Heather has been great. She is really good at presenting all of the options available for treatments and even puts stickers on my lab results. Overall, I recommend this office to my friends all the time.

With other therapists I could tell what type of textbook techniques they were using and it didn't feel very genuine or helpful. The one thing I do not like is they do not accept insurance. You pay out of pocket, and unfortunately my insurance only puts it towards my out of pocket (gotta love American healthcare). Batenburg has had my child on her schedule for 5 months without even reaching out to my child's therapist of three years to gain background information. Completely unprepared and unprofessional. She took information that I volunteered to her and used it against me, as well as readily taking my $700 for those initial two visits. I am a single mother dealing with a child with serious trauma for three years. I have gotten her the absolute best help I knew to get with professionals helping me make the hard decisions. This woman took maybe 20 minutes total in these two sessions to talk with me about my child. Her job is to gather as much information and history from the other professionals working with our children, then make educated decisions and recommendations for care. Batenburg has had no time, and taken no measures to truly understand the depth of our situation and when she said, "I think I will have to file with CPS for neglect", I was dumbfounded. She then quickly ushered my child and I out of her office. This is the first Google review I have ever left but I want to share this information with any other parents who have been in the trenches with a child, trying their best to keep that child alive. Batenburg is not the psychiatrist to trust. I cannot begin to express the extent of my feelings of frustration and betrayal. Is there a credible child psychiatrist in Central TX???

I have…read morebeen to both the Boerne and NewBraunfels offices in the past and was offered phenomenal service as soon as I stepped into the waiting room. My encounter with Dr. Bower was excellent! I experienced great hospitality and service when meeting with him and the staff. This doctor truly does care about patients. I would highly recommend this doctor, not only because of his qualifications and expertise, but also the care he shows his patients.
