I also got my wisdom teeth pulled not too long ago. I was just given some anesthesia. It was quick & easy! I was prescribed antibiotics and really did not need any painkillers because recovery was not bad at all. Even got a phone call from Dr. Kung checking how I was doing. My new dentist just gave me a deep cleaning, they said I had deep pockets and plaque build up. The hygienist said it looked like it had been years since I had my teeth cleaned. His wife is one of his hygienist and she will try talk you into joining some vacation club pyramid scheme.

I saw a review complaining about the Dr and others having personal conversations. I haven't gone to a dentist in 40 years who didn't have those conversations during an appt. I generally stay with a doctor long term and almost always learn about their personal life and they about mine. We talk about our kids, jobs, vacations, etc. I've run into my allergist at an airport in a different state and another of my doctors at a concert and visited with both because we had gotten to know each other. It makes me look forward to my next visit! Most people have had interesting experiences and you never know what you'll learn. I see this as a positive, not a negative.

On the day of my appointment I got a call from the front desk asking me if I could come in earlier, because earlier patient has cancelled(that should have been the red flag for me) , I agreed when I arrived the doctor insisted that I needed x-rays, I agreed, he was not very good at placement, failed to give me a lead apron to protect my body from unneeded radiation, but whatever, it was over, he proceeds to probe my teeth, again not very good at it and makes it unnecessarily painful, tells me I need to do a bunch of work that i didn't ask him about. Then ushers me away with his assistant. Back at the front, the lady tells me I need to pay for X-rays or of pocket even though I have insurance, I told her why didn't you tell me before, she tells me she didn't know, I gave her my insurance information a week ago! Then she proceeds to tell me, fine I'll claim it on your insurance under something else(insurance fraud?) I agree just to get the heck out of that place. Don't go there. p.s she also failed to mention that this dentist is out of network for my insurance, at the very last moment. BEWARE

On multiple occasions they been so flexible and have worked to squeeze me in. My last visit with them was a few months ago, and I wanted to get some deep cleaning done before my brother's wedding. They worked around my schedule on short notice to find what would work for me, which I was honestly amazed by. Both front desk people are awesome, Dr. Sokransky is very informative and exceptionally skilled - what I appreciate the most is that he doesnt try to sell you any procedure that you dont need. He actually cares, and practices with great integrity. Never had any uncomfortable or painful experience when VS Dental handled my teeth. I dont remember this being the case for any other dentists Ive been to, I usually experienced some level of discomfort with teeth work in the past.

He's the kindest, funniest, and most skillful dentist! And did I mention he is the most honest dentist! He will never try to sell you something that is not in your best interest. I asked him for more work and he could have easily said yes (and did it like my previous dentists did) but he suggested I don't do as the cosmetic work I inquired about would ultimately be harmful and require more costly repairs/upkeep down the road. He said my teeth are healthy and fine so why mess that up! I've been to dentists that jumped at doing these types of cosmetic procedures (usually their suggestion) since they break down over time but never did they mention that it damages your teeth in the process. Dr. Sokransky is the best- he really cares about you and puts the patient first over profits!
