I've been going to Dr. Black for about 6 months now for regular maintenance and he's been great! Recently I pulled my back and needed to see him 3-4 times per week as I was in so much pain. He successfully has gotten me back to feeling sooo much better! He also has an in-house masseuse Amy that worked on getting all my knots out (and boy did I have a lot of them!). First time at this location with a Groupon. I received a massage from a massage therapist with red hair and tattoos before seeing the chiropractor. I have had many massages in my life and I am a massage therapist myself and without exaggerating, I felt violated and physical hurt during/after this massage. The therapist uncovered me almost entirely for most of the massage and put my leg in an inappropriate position while she worked on my glutes and inner thighs (even though that was very clearly stated not my "problem" area). For most of the massage she worked against the muscle fibers, which is very uncomfortable (this is when you find a tight group of muscles and it feels like someone is plucking them like a string instrument, instead of working in the same direction as the fibers to release them). For 45 minutes I was in pain for every body part; I kept telling myself this must be the therapeutic part of "therapeutic massage", but seeing that my body was completely guarded for days after this massage and I feel slightly traumatized from this massage, I thought I would write a review. It was a bit concerning that the chiropractor did not do an assessment before adjusting me though the adjustments were done well. The receptionist was not present for the hour that I was getting treatment or after I was done, so there was no one there to help make an appointment if I wanted to come back. They forgot to validate my Groupon code, so I basically could have shown up for free. I understand things can be chaotic sometimes in any business, even if there are experienced professionals working there, but this was multiple counts of unprofessionalism and I feel slightly worse overall (mainly from the massage). I hope this helps to shine light on some things that can improve in the business as a whole as I can tell the chiropractor is experienced in his craft. read more

I have nothing but terrific things to say. Dr. Black will take his time to understand what your specific concerns are, address how he can help, and work on ab approach to keeping your body healthy. Don't worry, he won't recommend random nonsensical fad-type things, but he will make a recommendation about the types of exercise that might reduce your stress by trying to understand what sorts of activities you enjoy and encourage you to live a healthy lifestyle. In general I am a skeptic of chiropractic care, just to provide some perspective to this review. Dr. Black came recommended by a long time trusted friend. I generally don't subscribe to the theory of chiropractic care. However, I can say without a doubt that I feel better when I leave his office and I feel like I am doing something good for my body. The office situation is like none I had encountered in prior chiropractic offices. I like it a lot more... It is private, and feels like you're getting the full attention of the practitioner rather then just another number. He doesn't just crack and pop things... He tries to pay attention to the way your body moves (or doesn't) and how it is and is not functioning properly with regard to the spine. If he were a masseuse I would gladly pay him for that as well... He's the best! Speaking of pay... The office is very reasonably priced. Ask him about prepaying to get a discount. I have been seeing him for about three weeks for two issues: dysphagia and 10 year chronic neck pain. Whether or not anything we do will help with the dysphagia is still up in the air (it is with every treatment from every physician from Harvard and Hosg so Not having a solution yet is not a reflection on Dr. Black - it is likely completely unrelated to anything chiropractic care can resolve) but my neck pain has certainly been reduced significantly and my back feels substantially better. The Neck pain is from chronic poor posture at my computer (think sit down with my head and chin resting in my arm while I type kind of bad posture). I have seen orthopedists who have just shaken their heads and said I am basically SOL... If you have been told that too, I would recommend checking out this office. I leave feeling overwhelmingly relaxed... Like I could sleep for the entire day. (I have insomnia so this is an unusual thing for me). He is very personable and funny, laughs at his patients stupid jokes, and is a genuinely good guy. My hope is that the dysphagia is somehow helped by muscle tension relief as well, and I will take his advice to seek massage therapy more often in addition to other types of care. I might continue to skip his suggestion to stretch though LOL (shhhh) read more

I recently purchased a Groupon for a chiropractic adjustment and a 45 min massage. I went in and saw Dr. Black for my adjustment and everything went well. When we were done he told me I had to go back another day for the massage because they didn't have time that day. On my way out I made an appointment with the receptionist for the following week and as I walked away she made sure to mention if I needed a cancel I had to call 24hs before or else I would be charged $50. The day of the appointment arrived and 1 hour before my appointment I received a text message from them saying that my appointment had been canceled. I was very upset because they didn't have the courtesy of giving me the same amount of time they request before canceling on me. Aside from all of this I tried rescheduling my appointment numerous times by calling, texting, and emailing the office and receptionist and I never got a response. One week later, after sending an email asking them for a refund I finally received a call from Dr. Black. He apologized for everything but said he couldn't refund me and that I had to deal with Groupon if I wanted a refund. I found his staff to be very unprofessional and no caring. This was the worst experience I have had in a Doctors office and I do not recommend this place unless u don't mind running the risk of being canceled on read more

I had neck problems for years that were annoying me constantly. I tried all kinds of massages, stretches and objects to no avail. After my 2nd visit with Patrick I felt way better.
