He took into account that I enjoyed strong coffee and pulled a double shot without me asking for it. On top of that, as we were chatting about cold brews, he concocted what I consider a cold brew cocktail right in front of me! It never came across to me that coffee could be served that differently, and it was good. The experience gets better. The staffs were super friendly. I didn't feel like I was in the café at all. It felt more like a coffee club! All these happened in a coffee roastery. Because of that, the seats are limited. So be ready during peak hours. Definitely coming back again for my coffee fix, coffee exploration, coffee beans, coffee chats, you name it!

I chose Simply Coffee because they looked to have a big range (based on their website). Walking in, the strong aroma of coffee hit me right away. The walls were lined with grinder after grinder full of single origin coffee beans and blends. I was very overwhelmed. Right away, a staff member came to my rescue. He asked me about 10 questions to determine which brew would suit me best. On his advice, I chose Simply blend 2. It smelt lovely. After trying it in my machine, I am really happy with the choice I made. I'm looking forward to trying some of the many other beans at Simply Coffee.

Roasted on site, there are about 20 coffee blends and single origins to choose from. The staff are very knowledgeable, helping you decipher which would suit you and your tastes best. The shop has a couple of seats, lots of coffee accessories (I could look for hours) and cool equipment on show. The ladies who work there are very friendly and sociable, chatting away with each other and regular customers while frothing the milk. It's not really a cafe to hang out in, this bit of Rundle Street is a bit suburban and busy, but takeaways are great and easy to get.

Maybe more salt and sugar was needed. But, that does not mean that it was not tasty! It was really lovely. The egg was poached well, crème fraîche was a great edition and lifted the dish. An added surprise was the sea greens. I really loved them. I think that not many people are used to them, but they are really tasty. The carrots were nice, but felt a little out of place. I think what the dish needed was a sauce. The crème fraîche was great, but something with a deeper flavour or seasoning. The rest of the menu looked great! I look forward to test more items. In fact, be sure to try out the coffee. I think we may have another great coffee destination in Adelaide. They offer a couple of filter options and cold drip. This place has a Melbourne-esq vibe to it. Essentially a mature hangout with cool Coffee vibes !! The pace here is very calm and I like that since so many coffee shops get a bit chaotic at times. I also like the espresso Creme blend which is very similar to Cibo coffee - 250g for $7.50. This is a large store that not only stocks coffee but also coffee machine and a wide variety of Italian gourmet products and cookbooks. You can purchase pastry shells, hard-to-find gourmet foods like rose water and gluten free items. There are also accessories for coffee addicts, gorgeous pastas, biscuits and other Italian goodies. There are always plenty of Italians here talking in the native language, a sign of a really great Italian providore. Rio is as good as it gets for coffee drinkers and lovers of the Italian way of life.
