I arrived with a lab order in hand, only to be told that two tests required Labcorp-specific test codes. I went back upstairs to my doctor's office, where they added CPT and ICD-10 codes. When I returned, the staff member still claimed she couldn't find the tests, even with that information. As the waiting room filled up, I had to call my doctor's office again to get the exact codes--codes that were pulled from Labcorp's own system. This back-and-forth could have easily been avoided. While my doctor's office was responsive and helpful, the experience at Labcorp was not. Patients should not be responsible for resolving communication gaps between providers and labs. What happened today is not only discouraging, but also make an already stressful process even more frustrating.

The lab staff are focused on taking samples and running tests. You must "sign in" at the hospital main registration. On weekdays, this is near the front door of the hospital, not far at all from the lab, so it's convenient. On the weekends, however, the front registration desk is closed. Instead, you register for your lab test at the ER department. This is at the opposite end of the hospital down a very long corridor. If walking a distance is not a problem for you, it's a good bit of exercise. If you are mobility challenged in any way, and you are going to the lab on the weekend, you may want to do a two-step process. Drive to the ER, register, go back to your car and navigate on city streets to the front of the hospital, park again, and go get your lab work done.

It was efficient with the QR Code check-in system and I was the only one there at 9 AM (my appointment was for 9:15 AM but they tell you to arrive 15 minutes early like most doctor appointments) and was able to be helped right away. I'm so glad I had the nurse that I did. She was friendly and did mention that my vein was a bit deep but did a massage to help see if she could bring it to the surface. The process was quick and painless, and would definitely come back for future blood work! ~~Parking: The lab is located in a shared plaza and it could be difficult to find parking depending on the time you arrive, but it did look like there was parking in the back of the complex as well. ~~Service: Great, the nurse made me feel at ease and was very kind. ~~Best Part: Happy to report that I didn't end up with a bruise.

I tried calling this facility at least 10 times, but no one picks up the phone. I called my Doctor's office and they did not receive any results either. I then opened an online account, but no results there either. I think my blood was sent to a black hole, and I doubt if I ever will get results. So don't waste your time and don't take the risk of the overworked staff screwing up the blood draw. If they don't have time to pick up the phone, you can only imagine how overworked they are. I would even worry if they use clean needles and equipment or if they don't have time to wipe down any surfaces.

She finally found one on the outer edge of inside my arm and once she stuck me (which hurt more than any standard blood draw I'd had in the past) she proceeded to dig around my vein with the needle struggling to get the blood flow. Once she did, she got 3 files in and said the blood was slowing and she had to pull out and proceeded to do the same process on my other arm. I've had countless blood drawn in the past and this by far was the most painful. I never bruise after a blood draw and this own "blue" up the veins in both arms. Most definitely will never return to this lab again.

It was transcribed incorrectly by the Lead Technician on duty. As I suspected, the doctors wanted the usual and customary urine sample. I will subtract as many stars as possible from the previous 2 star review. There are other labs open on Saturdays and I will begin a search for one covered by my health insurance without the name "Hunter Labs" on the front door.

This visit, I believe it was the same guy who took my paperwork and drew my blood. My doctor's office was a little surprised that they needed another paper in addition to the usual California genetic screening form, but they sent it over and everything seemed fine. The guy was very nice and fast with the paperwork, especially since I was having an ADD day where I couldn't remember anything and I was pretty frustrated with myself at that point. He did everything he could to get me taken care of quickly, which I appreciated. The problem came afterward. I was distracted a bit by my almost-3-year-old and didn't hold still enough, so I kind of expected the soreness in my arm afterward. It didn't get better, though, and about 6 hours later I noticed a red line about half an inch long coming from the site of the blood draw and going toward my hand (this is a sign of an infection, for those who don't know). The next day I developed a bruise about 2 inches long. As I said, the bruise may have been my fault, but the infection definitely was not. That's enough for me to give 1 star and never go back.
