After a half hour they assured me they figured it out and my appointment was covered, I explained that if it was not covered and they couldn't tell me what this could cost I would have to cancel. I was assured it was covered and brought into the doctor. Well the assistant who informed me the doctor would not prescribe most of my meditations because I needed a neurologist for those. (I just got new insurance! I'm doimg the best I can). 45 minutes after she left Dr. Mercado came in. The doctor was cold, dismissive, and rude. Dr. Mercado never looked me in the eye not once. Told me my Lyme diagnosis was nothing to worry about since I've had it before. This was my first appointment with a new doctor because my previous doctor of 20 years is dying. I guess maybe I was spoiled having a doctor who cared and worked at an office who knew what they were doing. After this terrible experience which was confirmed to be covered by my insurance I recieved a bill for $278. Never again. I got a bill for $280.

Recently, they have been bought out by an LLC And have lost any value they hold for their patients. I have had to wait THREE days to get an inhaler and was only taken seriously when a man had to call for me. I have had two asthma attacks since my first request for an inhaler and very well could have lost my life if we did not have a spare from my brother at home. Jamie Pietka is a phenomenal doctor and Lakeview medical used to be a phenomenal office but unfortunately the new owner Has dug this place an early grave. If you are a woman DO NOT go here. If you value you or your loved ones lives, do not send them here. If you are currently a patient of what once was Lakeview Medical Center, I highly recommend you go to the office as soon as possible and get access to your medical charts before they are deleted like mine were! I had a wonderful experience with Lakeview medical, but unfortunately that experience is over and I have to do my part and warning others.

They essentially implied that it was part of the ageing process. A close friend suggested to me to visit Medical Care Associates for getting help. Dr. Sandhu looked at my blood report and put me on a prescription medicine. I have been using the medicine for about a year or so; I have gradually gained all my energy back and I am very active in handling day to day activities. I have been walking (weather permitting) for 3-4 times a week; a little over an hour each time, without getting tired. The doctors are very compassionate and the supporting staff has always been very kind and polite to me. I congratulate them for doing an unmatched diagnostic work followed by putting me on the right medication. My hats off to all the medical professionals at the Medical Care Associates.

Before i got a claim number from work, that was what i would need to give them before they would see me. I could be wrong about being covered at a place like this but I'm pretty sure i am covered through the VA. Anyway, i got the politics worked out and was finally seen for my swollen itchy hand due to a hornet sting. After some vitals were taken and was given a cortizone shot, i was on my way. OK REAL REASON FOR THE 1 STAR........ at the pharmacy, i was told my insurance needed yo further clear my coverage because the Dr prescribed me a 6000 dollar pill!!!! 6000 people, that's your taxpaying dollars funding research on a time release pill that goes for 600 dollars a pill. 10 pills X $600 = 6000 for ONE FREAKIN HORNET STING. ONE!!! And we wonder how it costs us simple folk so much to keep our asses insured.
