I've had my 5th wheel here for the past five years although I only spend about half the year here…read more(winter months). I never have to be concerned that it is not okay when I'm not here. It's a friendly place with all the utilities including WiFi. The manager is always available for anything needed & the park is beautifully maintained. There are walking trails that go down to picnic tables overlooking the lake & the Katy Bridge that goes across the lake with gorgeous sunsets. It's very quiet & peaceful. Come join us. Well to start off My experience here was just terrible It was one thing after another. The first…read morething was no one told us about gate and a gateCode . So there was a car behind me that opened the gate started driving through the gate and the gate arm closed on me hitting the hood of my truck. Had a second vehicle with me and it hit my other vehicle on the hood it's a good thing it did not cause damage. And the most irritating thing was the shottie electrical it kept popping the breaker in main panel box. So I have a 30 amp camper and it kept blowing breaker just had ac running had to switch water heater and fridge to gas and it still cointinued to pop the dang breaker.And also we even switched sites and it did the same thing!! And get this I plugged in my cell phone in the camper and it popped it again. The dang electrical here is dangerous I mean third world work here.We tried contacting their property manager and she told us to switch sites and we did twice and the same situation occurred.Wanted to have a good time but no. Another thing the grass burrs around each site is so bad you walk outside and have shoes full of stickers there is no maintenance done here I mean like someone just walked away from there run your own self.

The Roads are better. Someone is doing some patching but TT needs to spend some money on this…read moreplace. Other than the roads, this is a nice peaceful place to stay. The park has lots of space to enjoy and the lake is close by,

Luckily for us we did have kids who were complaining of being tired by the midway point of it, so it is perfect for families. But if you are an avid hiker who hikes for miles and miles, this is not the spot. We did go to the beach to look around, but didn't get in as it is winter right now and was at 30-50 degree weather. It is a beautiful place, very clean and well kept. If you are coming in with family, this is perfect, but if you want to hike, this is not your spot.

As soon as I drove into the front entrance, I stopped in the office in order to print the day pass I purchased online yesterday. All three ladies were extremely friendly and helpful. They showed me the key highlights of the park on the map. Then I shopped their merchandise in the park store. The trails were very well maintained and laid out. Each path was clearly visible so as not to get lost or off the marked walkway. I even spent some time in one of the day use areas to read this month's issue of Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine. What a way to finish enjoying such a wonderful park. Please check out!
