Only 2 machines worked. only one dryer worked well. Pretty sure one washer almost stained my husband's shirt. Thankfully I had Dawn. The women's bath house smelled so badly that I felt unclean in there. My only refuge (the bathhouse) was very unpleasant. I did not take a shower in there and it was like using a port-o-potty from the smell. The room needs ventilation! The pool is a blow up kiddie pool The veranda is a broken deck with chairs sitting on it The "dog parks" are ridiculous. Not dog parks. 2 out of 3 toilets work in the men's room The vending machines are so old, they are $.75 and unplugged The pool table room is NOTHING like the pictures- it is sad and forgotten Customer service was great pull-through RV slots are sandwiched between an interesting (yet very friendly) neighborhood

Well to start off My experience here was just terrible It was one thing after another. The first…read morething was no one told us about gate and a gateCode . So there was a car behind me that opened the gate started driving through the gate and the gate arm closed on me hitting the hood of my truck. Had a second vehicle with me and it hit my other vehicle on the hood it's a good thing it did not cause damage. And the most irritating thing was the shottie electrical it kept popping the breaker in main panel box. So I have a 30 amp camper and it kept blowing breaker just had ac running had to switch water heater and fridge to gas and it still cointinued to pop the dang breaker.And also we even switched sites and it did the same thing!! And get this I plugged in my cell phone in the camper and it popped it again. The dang electrical here is dangerous I mean third world work here.We tried contacting their property manager and she told us to switch sites and we did twice and the same situation occurred.Wanted to have a good time but no. Another thing the grass burrs around each site is so bad you walk outside and have shoes full of stickers there is no maintenance done here I mean like someone just walked away from there run your own self.

We were…read morecurious if the park had been kept up because so many of the Thousand Trails parks have not been. So, we discovered it's not like it used to be with all the pristine amenities and decor but it's still very nice. This is definitely a campground and not a resort. However, that's not bad. That's good because it has just about everything a resort has except you don't have neighbors right out your front door. Sites are large and you definitely have the woodsy feel because there are lots of trees. The park is big with many different loops for camping. Many of the sites sit under the trees making satellite difficult. However, there are also sites where satellite is not a problem. There are also many pull-thru sites. The main roads are in poor shape. Some places it's been patched but other places there are so many patches that driving through is quite rough. We saw quite a few sites with black bags over the electrical outlets so assume repairs need to be made. There is a family lodge and an adult lodge. Both have pools and the adult lodge has a hot tub. Plus there are courts available for sports plus even a mini-golf course. There is a ma & pa restaurant onsite. They weren't open the time we were there but it's a nice addition to the park. We have AT&T cell service and we struggled with data. I'm not sure location in the park would make a difference. Anyway, we would definitely return for a few days if in the area. This is one of the better Thousand Trails parks.

Luckily for us we did have kids who were complaining of being tired by the midway point of it, so it is perfect for families. But if you are an avid hiker who hikes for miles and miles, this is not the spot. We did go to the beach to look around, but didn't get in as it is winter right now and was at 30-50 degree weather. It is a beautiful place, very clean and well kept. If you are coming in with family, this is perfect, but if you want to hike, this is not your spot.

As soon as I drove into the front entrance, I stopped in the office in order to print the day pass I purchased online yesterday. All three ladies were extremely friendly and helpful. They showed me the key highlights of the park on the map. Then I shopped their merchandise in the park store. The trails were very well maintained and laid out. Each path was clearly visible so as not to get lost or off the marked walkway. I even spent some time in one of the day use areas to read this month's issue of Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine.
