While every one is in Vegas seeing BSB at the sphere, I'm watching Pop 2000 with Chris Kirkpatrick, O-Town, LFO, BBMak and Ryan Cabrera. And although, I'm a little salty about it, I have to say, we had the best time! Got tickets last minute at the box office. Like literally, we went an hour early and picked seats at the window. The theater is small so there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff (especially by the bar) is super nice. The bar...bring cash to tip. Their POS system doesn't allow you to add tip when you make a purchase. The show was so good. Even the meet and greets were handled fairly well. I'm got to tell Trevor from O-Town that they wouldn't let me go to see them when they came to Sachem high school because I didn't win the raffle. Felt like I was back to my old antics of being a crazy fan. read more

Came to see Old Crow Medicine Show here. The theater is very clean and old fashioned which adds to the charm. The staff is very friendly and cheerful. But what stands out here is the absolute amazing acoustics that this theater has. I have been to many, many local performance halls. The sound here is amazing. The seating is a bit tight but almost every seat has a great view. The bathrooms are large and clean. Parking is on the street or in local parking lots that you pay per hour. You should get here early to park because it gets crowded. The good news is the town is so quaint with many restaurants to eat or grab a drink. The night here is so pleasant. It's great to have such an amazing local music/show hall so close. read more

After years of attending numerous shows here I realized they deserve a review. I have had some of the best nights here. Recently my friends took me to see Dirty Dancing the movie with a live band performing every music scene. It was honestly truly amazing. The band was incredible. Live music melts my heart .Theater parking is free in lot 1 (near the bank), get there early. Otherwise park in lot 3 and pay up .A great night in Patchogue usually involves a nice show, and great dinner. Absolutely come check out a show here, you will never be disappointed. read more

Ya gotta love new experiences. Without them, life can often be pretty boring. So it's fun to be able to try something new in multiple ways within one evening. Consider this the case a few weeks back when my wife, her family, and I visited Patchogue Theatre for a magic show. Now this review isn't for any of the abracadabras (though Reza the illusionist was pretty awesome), it's for the Patchogue Theatre itself. Having frequented the area for the past handful of years, I had always seen the theatre, but (as already stated) never entered until it was time to get magical. I won't say there was any real "magic" taking place for what the interior of the lobby looked like, but the place was clean enough with a little snack/bar area and a vibe that felt like a light version of a Broadway theatre. I'll also give a shoutout to the staff who seemed smiley, friendly, and welcoming throughout our time there. Once at our seats, the actual theatre itself has a little bit of grandeur albeit with a flickering light or two and some seats that were comfortable yet close together. There were cup holders which is always a welcomed item and helped to hold my $4 water I had purchased (which I'll take that price compared to other venues which might charge double!). The setup made for an enjoyable evening getting to see some things disappear. Overall, the Patchogue Theatre is a reasonably nice venue with no major frills but enough pizzaz to make you feel like you're out for a night on the town to see a show. I'll definitely keep an eye out for more shows in the future, even if my trip here won't be my first. Give it a shot yourself and get some new experiences under your proverbial belt! read more

Tonight I went to see the Orchestra, The ELO band It was one of my greatest nights until the last 2 songs. A lot of people got up to dance and then an elderly person who worked there as a staff member ran around to stop people from dancing, including myself. He was obviously unhappy person. They have cameras, they should find out who he is. Anyway I will not go back. read more

Whoa, Patchogue where have you been all my life? I'm embarrassed to say that as a former New Yawka, I hadn't before visited the gorgeous town of Patchogue, or worse, its center-of-town Theatre of Performing Arts. The Gateway (whomever they are) Holiday Spectacular on Ice, hosted by two-time Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan and featuring Olympian Polina Edmunds as well as several local celebrities, brought me to the quaint theatre (winter 2021 - show runs until Jan 2, 2022 and there's real ice on stage). Semi-comfortable seats and plant of parking out back. The acoustics were decent and the staff was very friendly. Centrally situated mid-town, the theatre was within three blocks of many culinary favorites, each worth the visit from the other Island (Manhattan). Three examples that leap to mind are: Cajun Claws, Buttermilk's Kitchen, and The Cuban (they also have Bayside (Queens), NYC location). I'm sure the others are equally fantastic. So here's my advice: Find a summer show at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, preferably on a Friday. Post-show visit the local restaurants. Drive to the Hamptons and do whatever is that you prefer to do while there (Theatre is on the Western end of Montauk Highway). On your return drive (leave early) pay your respects at the nearby TWA 800 tragedy memorial in East Moriches, have brunch at Buttermilk's and return home. Or, any variation thereof. read more

We went to a concert at the patchogue theater on friday, april 26. As soon as we walked in, there was security staff there to check our bags. We have no problem with that, However, we do have a problem with being treated disrespectfully. My bag was grabbed and thrown in a bin, and another staff member pointed at everyone and said, "Hey you, right here," and scanned our bodies with a wand. Mind you, it was a 70 and over crowd to see a 60s band. We were just happy to be there, but the "security staff" were so rude and imposing. Trust me, this was not a crowd to need these guys telling us not to dance in the ailse. This was a senior citizen crowd that was there to enjoy beautiful music and bring back memories of peace and love and great music of our younger days. We still had fun, but sorry, we won't be returning to the Patchogue Theatre. read more

Awful communication - advertised specials not honored, advance ordering for drinks non-functioning, links are broken and they even misspell their own email address. Minor stuff perhaps, but the renovation had to be pricey and poor management will make it all worthless. I don't plan to return. read more

Went to see the show there Friday March 7th which was disappointing. It was the 1sr time that the security was so strict ~ they went through my pocketbook so disrespectfully and then monitored with a wand? WTH we weren't going to see the President! We sat upfront but as many have mentioned before the seats are horrible! Uncomfortable and to close together! Don't think they have been updated since 1923! PTPA on Main Street seems to be a multi theater for movie, stage and music productions. I called and the lady on the phone was super helpful with tickets, purchases, directions, parking info and, seating. I even got a 2 for 1/2 price tickets. 50 bucks and we got to see the beautiful talented actress, singer and dancer, Leslie Ann Warren. She was on stage in an interview style with Mr. Hersh asking her questions from the audience. While I would have love to hear of her experiences as Norma in Victor Victoria with the iconic Julie Andrews and Charmingly talented Robert Preston, I had to understand that the focus at this nights performance was all about Her wonderful presentation of Miss Scarlett from the movie Clue. The movie based on a who done it board game was perfectly done including but not limited to actors as Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn and Christopher Lloyd., directed with fun and edited smoothly with workable effects and costume designs. Hearing about the designed to look like fall off dresses so tightly worn with a full zipper up the back making sure nothing moved even in the most confining spaces was interesting shared information. tip here- if you video, make sure your flash is off les you are told to shut off the camera. Then the movie full screen and sound. Having played the board game in my youth, it was an hour and a half of laughter. Thank you Ms. Warren. We got tickets to "The Magic Garden" with Carol & Paula. (Remember that show from the 1970's?) They are now in their 80's! They did their show at the only Long Island appearence this year at the Patchogue Theater. My seats were at the front row! lol! I was afraid that I would have to look way up at the stage! lol! But the stage was the perfect height! Beautiful theater! 100 years old! Clean, confortable, nice seats. Bathrooms clean. All the workers were friendly, courteous. Everything was well organized - the show was on time, the sound was good!, the merchandise table had plenty of photos and souvenirs. Very nice people! The meet and greet went smoothly. The photography ladies were so nice! And let's not forget - Carol & Paula! lol! Very nice! Took a minute to say hello to each person coming up to take a picture with them. There is a counter where you can buy snacks and drinks. Plenty of free parking in back of the theater on a Sunday - but you have to get there early! It fills up fast! read more

My wife called me from work and said, we have to get tickets at the Patchogue Theatre. There is a Ultimate Queen band playing Saturday night! Now this particular theatre? It wasn't always a playhouse. Actually it was 90 years ago. People would come to the theatre, get all dressed up and see a performance. Then they'd go back to their waterfront mansions in Sayville after a nice night on Main St. When I became of age and arrived in town, it all changed. Welcome to 80s! This theatre is where all my friends would come to see a cheap movie. I remember seeing Porky's here! After I joined the military and came home on leave, I took my girlfriend here to see Officer & a Gentleman (Yes, I am that old) Good times to be had in Patchogue! When I came back from the military, Patchogue pretty much shutdown. The theatre was closed, restaurants closed, it really was a shame. Recently, the town went through a revitalization with fun new restaurants, new condos and the Theatre was brought back to its 1923 grandeur. December 1998, the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) was opened again for business. It's my first time here since the 80s. They did a great job! The seats were comfy, the stage was large and the acoustics worked well for a live band. There is also a nice looking bar to head to for intermission. I was really impressed over the revitalization of the Patchogue Theatre. I was looking at the playbill and there are a few nice venues planned for this year. Think about it, you can come into Patchogue, eat a great meal and see a performance. I'm just not going to my waterfront mansion.. Enjoy! read more

Went to sold out show to bring back memories and watch an Eagles Tribute band. THE FAST LANE. This is the second time I saw this band. First time was at a local restaurant in Patchoque. The theater was renovated with comfortable seats. Bathroom was spacious and so was the lobby. You can purchase beer and wine prior to the show. No drinks allowed in theater except bottled water. The sound and lights were well done and The Fast Lane sounded awesome. I would return if something sparks my interest. read more

Saw Kinky Boots at this theater. Great show, wonderful acting! Tickets are a bit pricey but worth it. The seating is a bit tight- not much leg room for taller people. They have cute refill glasses for wine/beer :) Will be back this week for another show and looking forward to it. read more

Great idea in the use of an old movie theater. This was our first time there. We were there for the Chick Corea concert. They have ample parking in the back of the theater and across the street behind the stores. The theater reminds me of the old fashioned movie theaters back in the day. The chandelier and art deco reminds me of times past. I look forward to future concerts once the pandemic is over. read more

Great venue to catch a show. There's not a bad seat in the house. It's a little pricy for good seats...$50. Get the cheap seats at $25 and enjoy a show or concert. Intimate theater, newly renovated space with comfortable seating. There's a bar. Have a drink or 2 in the lobby, and you can even sip on it during your show! But forget getting a drink at intermission. Seems the 3 bartenders are in their twilight years, as such are slow and somewhat hard of hearing. Had to repeat my beer order and point out the tap a couple of times, and I wasn't the only customer to have to do that. Have seen similar comments on other reviews as well. So have some drinks before at one of the establishments within walking distance of the theater. Plenty to choose from! Was a fun Saturday night having dinner in town, then seeing No Quarter, a Led Zeppelin imitation/tribute band. Was a shame they didn't have the Robert Plant & Jimmy Page guys mics up enough until after intermission. They were very good. Will definitely come here again to catch another show. read more

If I could give no stars I would. We came for the Polar Express today since Bay Shore stopped doing it. This was our first time here and will be our last. My mother purchased the tickets and when we get here our seats are taken the ushers are forced to argue with the girl in our seats. The usher left and we were forced to argue for our seats in which we left after she decided to be an entitled white supremacist. We told her those were our seats and showed our four tickets and she had the nerve to say "I don't have to get up for your people". My son was very sad and disgusted and didn't feel like watching the movie anymore since my wife and I left, so my mom and son left. read more

Comped tickets from LI Pulse for the Paul Reiser show. Really loved this historical theater. Seemingly nice preservation done here, although I am unfamiliar with it's history. We had orchestra left seats in the 5th row. Ticket taking and ushering were seamless. There's a small bar in the lobby with a decent local brew selection on tap at only $7 a pop. No food or drink in the theater, so we had to pass. Sight lines were excellent, especially since Lisa E. and I are vertically challenged. Seats were ample, not spacious but for an old theater I did not feel cramped. Sound system and lighting very professional. Paul Reiser's had the entire audience laughing and locked in for over 90 minutes. Interesting that his act was so clean and yet so enjoyable, hitting the 50+ target audience at this sold out show. read more

**WORST VENUE EVER** **JUST WAIT TILL YOU NEED SOMETHING FROM THEM** Refused to refund me for tickets that were accidentally purchased (Blues Brothers Revue vs. The Blues Brothers Live) despite me reaching out within an hour of purchase. In the age of Amazon and Chewy (optimal customer service) how do you expect to survive? Would you rather have empty seats all around the stage for people who won't show up vs. people in the seats? Seems unfair to your patrons and your acts, but pretty friendly to your wallet. This would have been my first time at your venue. I went to a concert here last night. The concert was amazing but the staff and service at the Patchogue Theatre were HORRIBLE! The staff were extremely, extremely RUDE. They wouldn't let you leave the lobby area with a drink, so you were forced to drink it quickly. I was waiting on the bathroom line and they wouldn't even let me be on the rug area with a drink. If you're going to be so strict about where you can have a beverage, then don't sell them. Plus, it took forever to get a drink. If the staff were courteous and friendlier about everything, perhaps the experience wouldn't have been as bad. The staff definitely needs more training. If there are upgrades to the venue, exceptions or changes have to be made throughout to accommodate the clientele properly. The ushers had people sitting at the wrong seats throughout the venue. It was chaotic. One woman was sitting on the floor in the aisle. Overall, I would not recommend this theatre. Go elsewhere to see performances. read more

Just came back from seeing Flashdance the musical. The quasi-OK performance aside, the theater was ridiculous. Forget about finding parking, we had to walk nearly half a mile to get to the venue. When we got in there it appeared the entire staff was over 80 years old. All of them. The bartender could barely hear me and had no idea what I was ordering, at nine dollars a drink you think they would hire someone more professional. It was a 92 degree day and the air conditioning unit was not working for the entirety of the show. Sat there sweating for 2 1/2 hours. As if that wasn't enough, The sound system kept cutting on and off through the duration of the show. I don't think I would return. read more

This place deserves more amazing reviews. Just got back from seeing White Christmas here, and it was wonderful! The sets were fairly elaborate and the acting/singing/dancing were all great! The theater is comfortable and well appointed, but parking absolutely sucks. Downtown Patchogue is insane on Saturday nights. We went to see "Hair In Concert," and I was more than disappointed. It was not made clear, at least to us, that this was not the play, it was just songs from the play. Maybe that was our bad. But "Hair" was culturally iconic, a reflection of its time carrying important messages about peace, freedom and human relations. To remove the music from the context would be like putting on a performance of "The Scenery of Schindler's List." But it was worse than that. Very poor directorial decisions were made, ones that show either a misunderstanding or a diminishing of what "Hair" was about. Claude Hooper Bukowski is supposed to be someone who was on leave from Vietnam and was influenced by the group of hippies to rethink his life, whereas in this version he begins as a confident hippie, in fact supplanting George Berger as the lead character, who ends up deciding to go to war. Whereas Berger ends up dying in the touching end to the movie, in this hot mess no one dies, and Bukowski, in uniform, sings with the anti-war protesters in a kumbaya finale which has the audience clapping and the cast clowning. It's the typical retrospective cheapening of the peace and love generation. In fact, at first this Bukowski resists going to Vietnam because he doesn't want to have to cut his hair. I think there was also some subtle racism in the performance. When the white girls were singing about "black boys," they were presented as "normal" individuals, whereas when the black girls were singing about "white boys," they were dressed as uniformed soul sisters like the Supremes. There are some racially tinged songs in "Hair" that have to be understood in terms of the times, but if one removes the context of them, as this performance did, one ends up hoping the audience doesn't get the wrong message from them. Similarly, "Easy to Be Hard" is a beautiful song with another important sentiment, but without any coherent context it loses its meaning. The cast were very good singers. Unfortunately, they were all unfamiliar with songs that I would think most people would already know, but certainly should be memorized by people going on stage. They all had binders and papers that they read the songs and minimal dialog from, which made this seem incredibly amateurish, sort of like a middle school play. We were told they had only been rehearsing for less than a week. Is that supposed to be praised? I very much liked Ace Young... at first. He has charisma, but he turned out to be a one-trick pony, as he seemed to feel that he had to remain in "Wayne's World" throughout the entire performance, which further undermined the seriousness of the message. You know, hippies were lovable but goofy. The anti-war purpose of "Hair," and even its portrayal of hippie culture, admittedly weak as it was, deserved more respect. I don't think we will be returning to the Patchogue Theater. They have a lot of cover band concerts and other performances of lesser quality than a theater of their history and potential should. This was an example. It's a nice theater; how about some "real" theater? read more

Beautiful old theater that is in desperate need of a loving care. The lobby area is great. old wood and plaster work adorns the theater. Walking into the auditorium you first notice the bye gone grandeur of it all. But as you sit there you begin to notice the peeling paint and the old worn out seating. The seat I was in was missing half of the padding underneath and after 2 hours I was numb from the waist down. It would really be lovely if they refurbished the seating or bought new ones. I saw a lady who was a bit large in size and she couldn't event sit in the seat, they were to narrow to accommodate her. I'm glad to see these old structure still serve a purpose in the modern world we live, and that people chose to use instead of destroy and rebuild. read more

Again, we had a terrific time at this beautifully restored Art Deco theater, not too big, so that all seats are good. This time, we enjoyed THE BEST Led Zep tribute band on the planet - "No Quarter" is the name of the band.
