The classes are super diverse and inclusive but more importantly, my sons were lucky enough to have 2 teachers that were absolutely excellent (Ms. Marcy and Ms. Shamel). They taught my boys so much - my 3 year old was basically reading and my older one was more than prepared for kindergarten. if you're lucky enough to get into their class, they will love your kids like they love their own. Beyond that, the school has fostered an excellent community among the parents who do not hesitate to chip in and help each other and who go out of their way to have social activities to bring the kids together. This is truly a special school with amazing teachers and community of parents.

Having a kid and sometimes moving. . .keeping an eye out for the best daycare for my two kids old hill remains the worse of these daycares. The staff was good enough. . .but honestly, staff ratings across these daycares are always good. Old Hill staff is no better than Bright Horizon (top employer by fortune) or Kindercare (maybe the cheaper of these). What makes this place so bad, was the incredible amount of "We are a westport daycare, how dare you think we need to take your needs into account". This place was closed more often than local schools, and more often than any daycare i've done business with. The larger daycares are open EVERY snowday, even the big ice storm that came through. . as long as they had power. These guys would close if they thought that maybe, eventually, someone might slip. School systems have to close, sometimes, they have bus. Yet my work (a large insurer) doesn't close if the school system is closed. My wife work doesn't close if the school system is closed. these guys remain the most ridiculous, ill fitting, don't get why they exist daycare. Seriously - you can do better; and cheaper - I did multiple times over. Maybe the other reviewers should try another daycare, before posting a glowing review about incompetence.

I have to say, from being a teacher with 20 years in ECE, this school's staff is wonderful!! The teachers are so caring, loving, and gentle with the children. Their love for the children is evident, and I would not hesitate to leave my child in their care.

They truly live by the saying "it takes a village"--actively involving parents and creating a real sense of community and family. The only reason we're leaving is due to a major change for our family, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Discovery Village to all of our friends and family.

This is both a genuine reflection of the services we have received from Discovery Village and a…read morefull-throated rebuke of a recent 1-star review by a clearly ill-intentioned person. Since enrolling our son in July 2019, we have been provided nothing short of high quality child care by a supportive, compassionate, and safety-minded staff and leadership team. We were present during the transition to the current web/app-based communication and documentation tool. It has provided us with a more than adequate level of security and connectivity with the daycare. Since the roll-out of the system last year, it was made clear that it was the parents' responsibility to check-in children on arrival. To think that a teacher should take the extra time - away from the other kids in class - to make up for your own irresponsible mismanagement of the platform is selfish and ridiculous. I, for one, am completely satisfied that the teachers prioritize direct care of the children over task-saturation within an online recording tool. The app-based tool has also provided parents with secure, direct access through a bluetooth-enabled unlocking system. Anyone that would consider providing access to this app to an unauthorized person is a security risk, and I think we are a safer community with this person gone. When I exit the facility, I either wait for someone entering to do so with their own access or I confirm with the staff at the front desk that the person belongs here before opening the door. I hope that everyone would challenge me in the same way when I enter! We are a community of families and should each have a vested interest in the safety of our children that supercedes an ease-of-access mindset. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 health crisis, the leadership at Discovery Village has been completely transparent about the challenges of both managing a business and meeting the demands of working parents in this environment. The center quickly adapted to the new normal by implementing more than the State-required sanitation protocols and providing regular updates to families. We suspended our enrollment in late March and returned to the village in May and have had ZERO complications. The idea that Discovery Village is, was, or has been lax about their cleaning and COVID protocol mandates is a baseless and belligerent accusation. This team is professional to the core! I would be remiss to not mention that our son absolutely loves his teachers at Discovery Village. He is happy as can be every day we pick him up and his learning and curiosity is clearly nurtured. I recommend this center to anyone looking for high quality care by a team that is genuinely invested in the well-being and development of your child. Thank you for all that you do.

Charlie, the toddler director at the toddler center on Fenimore, gave me and my 2 year old a comprehensive tour of the church school facility and every classroom space. The rooms are intimate, and filled with photographs and the children's work samples. It had a good feeling, and after talking with Ms. Roe and Ms. Carol, I was ready to sign my little one up on the spot! The school is unassuming, but don't be deceived. Your child will thrive, learn, and be loved at MCNS. Also, did I mention the teacher child ratio is awesome too? I also appreciated that it was a cooperative school, where I could volunteer and feel like a part of my child's learning experience. You get such insight to your child's school day while volunteering. It's soooo fun! There is also great enrichment programs that they do. From yoga, dental hygienist, science teachers, etc. that add to their curriculum. We spent two years, and also had the pleasure of having Ms. Kathy and Ms. Ruth as teachers. They were just as fabulous as Carol and Roe. We had two great years at MCNS and were sad to leave when we moved back to Cali.

This place is a home daycare, but she's devoted her own house into a school for the children that she so lovingly watches every day. I have visited other home daycare locations where this was not the case; other places turned their basements into daycares and watching children was more of a 'side gig' but this is not the case with Xingli! Her teachers are also wonderful. My daughter loves Ms Chen and Ms Brandi. Ms Helen is part time but she's wonderful too. They are fantastic with the children. We get updates with pictures throughout the day, every day. The lunches that are given to the children makes me jealous. We live two blocks away so it's just so convenient.
