I shop in the Manasquan store often. The quality & selection is top notch; many wonderful items to choose from. The service in the rear deli is excellent. Friendly staff; always with a smile & a friendly greeting. This quality of service however, does not apply to the checkout end of the store. VERY unfriendly, expressionless staff, particularly the young ladies. Someone needs to train them how to treat customers & how to create the same warm, friendly atmosphere as the rest of the store. I am a generous tipper, but have lately stopped adding to the jar due to their inability to connect with the customer in any way. A special shout out to Jackie in shipping who saved our Christmas by packing those handmade tortellini's so well that despite FedEX messing up on the 2 day delivery, our dinner arrived still preserved and perfect! However-- every time I have been here the checkout help is surly and unpleasant. Some of the help are very young and it took my breath away to be spoken to like I was just plain stupid. I buy at Pastosa often and have been very happy - a treat. I recently bought chicken parm and fresh mozz - both were extremely dry and unedible. Reheating made it worst - a little piece to the dog and the rest into the trash - very disappointing and unexpected. I have had good experiences up to now and will try again but really think I will limit my purchases to their sauce and ravioli read more

Absolutely Amazing! Being from Staten Island Patosa is a staple of our area so we were nervous to try a different location. This was the best decision we ever made. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the girls in front, the owner and other staffers greeted us like family. The food was amazing and beyond fresh and delicious. We had a huge catering order and everything was perfect, and packaged in insulated boxes which kept it hot the entire drive. The workers were feeding us as we waited for the food as if we were in Naples, Italy enjoying fresh mozzarella. The girls were polite, sweet, and energetic as well. Overall a 10-10 experience and they have us a customer for life! read more

We just got a bunch of food from here for the first time and it is excellent so far. We heated up a sample of cheese lasagna, meat lasagna, aroncini and chicken cutlets, and everything was great. Lasagna? More like a hamburger between much too thin slices of pasta. Little or no cheese. Tasteless sauce. Even when I smothered it with Parmesan and mozzarella there was nothing I could do to resurrect this to even approach lasagna. Do they even know what herbs are? At $10.50 a slice someone should be reading the New York Times recipe for lasagna and get the proportions correct for cheese meat and sauce. If it weren't a Saturday night and too late to start making dinner I would've pitched it. Good news, I'm going back to making my own lasagna and all the things I used to make at home before prepared foods were sold. read more

Great place with great food and excellent sandwiches. I really appreciate how when you order a sandwich you are asked a few questions which ensure that you get your sandwich exactly how you want it. Confirming whether you want the chicken on your sandwich warmed up and if you want it grilled or fried goes along way with me. We walked in 10 minutes before they were to close on a Saturday. we asked if we holding them up, they said no come in. The guys behind the food counter were nice and helpful. The girls at the register we awful , one girl practically screamed in my ear EXCUSE ME, we were trying to pay and she needed to get behind the counter. The food was not that fresh tasting . let me start by saying i was a loyal customer of both pastosa's in brooklyn and staten island, since moving to NJ been trying to find a comparable place, it hasn't been easy, this is a 35 minute ride from my house but it's worth it , friendly people , store super clean , soon as you walk in you can smell the good food, I tried the sausage , braciole , different cheese's , olives , they have prociutto di parma , all great, can't wait to go back and try some of the cooked food which looked very good read more

Called up and was told this place had seafood salad. Seven minutes later I was in the place ordering my seafood salad, which they did not have! When I told them I just called, one guy says "we never had it" and the other guy says "tell him we just sold out" - Needless to say the staff was rude and very unprofessional.
