I could never express just how much I love getting a sandwich from this place. So you'll walk in and the friendliest people will greet you every time. Even if you're an introvert (which I am) they'll get you talking about anything. The cool vibes you get in there is straight out of an Italian movie. We are from the Bronx, NY and found Breakin Bread by accident 2yrs ago. THANK GOD because finding a good Italian hero wasn't easy. Initially this location was supposed to be a coffee house, then they switched it up to an Italian eatery and am I glad they did. Growing up in NYC my Yelp reviews often complain about being a bread snob and not being able to get good bread "down the shore". BB did us all a favor, they import the bread, problem solved. We ordered: Sandwich #1 Roast beef, fresh mozzarella, brown gravy w salt and pepper Sandwich #2 Fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, sun-dried peppers and balsamic drizzle Sandwich #3 Porketta, fresh mozzarella, balsamic drizzle All the sandwiches were amazing. Freshly made with fresh ingredients. What more can you ask for? The porchetta sandwich wound up being my favorite, I've been dying to try this for years and Breakin Bread did not disappoint. The flavors were clean and fresh and they paired with the fresh mozzarella so well, I didn't want to stop eating. The location is on the small size but not too small. They have pastries and cookies from many different bakeries. Fresh pastas, and hot dishes. They also have many Italian cold-cuts and I believe I did see a big coffee machine behind the counter. Prices are also fair and the place seemed nice and clean. The Owner / Workers were all pleasant and chatted with us a little while our sandwiches were being made. All in, I'm glad Breakin Bread opened, I wish them a world of luck and success. I look fwd to trying some of their other specialties. Ordered appetizers 3 weeks before Christmas, my card already was run and low and behold, at 1:30 am Christmas morning was informed my order was canceled. ( chef couldn't or wouldn't accommodate) Had to scramble Christmas eve to fin someone to fill my order. Not very good business practice. As you can see from the pictures of my order, it looks nothing like the ones posted by the owner. I ordered half a Milano and half an OMG w/chicken and a side of potato salad. $29.85! They have no prices written on the menu board and no take out menus w/prices. I'm not one to ask how much is this, how much is that, I order what I want. But, for a business to not have any prices posted, they can make up their prices day to day and the customer doesn't know what they're in for. The chicken on the OMG was so thin, I didn't even taste it. All I tasted was the bread and sauce, which were not that good. Look at the bread I got compared to the pictures posted by the owner. For starters. I have had the subs from this place and they were good. I ordered the chicken franchase entree with pasta on DoorDash just to get a call back saying they were out. Therefore I settled for the chicken parm entree. The chicken parm entree is absolutely disgusting. It is served cold as has to be heated up in the microwave upon arrival. This was not mentioned on DoorDash. Even when heated it's gross. I will never order from this place again. The soup that I was received as well came cold. In summary nothing was fresh you're better off going to a supermarket to buy one of their prepared meals there. read more

When times are tough,I usually skip a review but this visit was a DISASTER. While the ppl were pleasant enough (also note that nothing has pricing on it from the signs to the paper menu). I thought it was a nice touch my $13.50 heros came w/chips & soda choice but thats it. My Dog looked at me when I deposited my lunch remains in her bowl and she didn`t eat it. I had 2 `heros` one was the Hoboken (RB & Mozz w/gravy) the RB was stringy at the part where the fat cap is surprising they left it on the sandwich. The chix cutlet/mozz/roast pepp- the chicken was gross and stringy and fatty.It was not pounded thin,and my dw called it `scaly` when she tried a bite..When you spend $30 for 2 `heros` for lunch, you expect the quality to be superb.I would always chalk up things to staffing issues and a bad day but 3 of 3 items were awful including the vinegary/watery attempt at cole slaw. We were honestly looking fwd to a nice `north NJ` style experience but instead got low grade ingredients cooked poorly...It`s a shame b/c we like to eat & spending a little extra is worth it if its done right... Please check the quality of your ingredients and what you are putting out to the public. Breaking' Bread has great sandwiches, prepared meals, soups etc. I have been getting food from them , since they opened and we love it.. We have also used them for some catering orders , and all of my guests rave about the food. Besides the quality of food, the folks that work there , are all friendly and quite helpful. A friend of mine recommended this place and I am glad he did. By the way, the pulled pork from the catering menu is fantastic .
