Great to have a framer so close to home. I was able to take my time to choose the perfect frame and mat. Beautiful work! read more

Pastel Art - Front Sign - Framing Near Me - Astoria, New York

Note: Address on Yelp is inaccurate. The new address is: 28-03 34th Ave, Queens, NY 11106 I wanted to get some memorabilia framed and after some research, I stumbled upon Pastel Art. The shop owner was super friendly and worked with me to find the best frames to make the items pop more. After everything was picked out, I was ready for a hefty estimate. I've gotten a couple pieces similar to this framed in Midtown for around $250, so I was expecting it to be close to that. However, he told me it was $94 and I was ecstatic! The wait time was around 2 weeks (including Thanksgiving weekend), so no complaints there. The finished product was awesome too, I loved it. Would definitely come back here to get more work done in the future. read more

Owner is very nice and prices are much better than other nearby frame stores. Highly recommend!

I've had lots of things framed here over the years. He has a wonderful eye--he knows which types of frames will make your paintings jump out. For example we have a very subtle blue and cream water color. I thought I wanted a bright blue frame, but he explained how the coloring would be overwhelmed and we chose a lighter frame, and it really guides the viewer to see the painting in more depth. We also have a beautiful antique Korean scroll, and he found a perfect lightly burnished bamboo-patterned frame. I've learned a lot about the value of a good frame, and I really appreciate his prices and patience! read more

I've been in Astoria for over 2 years, and have walked past this place numerous times and it never registered. As a result, I've always gone up to 30th Avenue to Astoria Art & Custom Framing for art and framing needs. They're fine, but I'm so glad to tell you it's an unnecessary walk if you live closer to Broadway! The owner, Paul, is pleasant and helped me pick out just what I wanted in terms of framing size, material and background color. I picked it up a week later I couldn't be happier with the result. I also asked him several questions about the best way to go about high quality printing of pics I found and took and he was honest and helpful in referring me elsewhere for my needs. I'll definitely be going back soon! read more

If you are looking to get a frame for a picture of your pet, go to Walmart BUT IF you are looking to have your family portraits, wedding photos and pieces of art frame Pastel Art is your store. We're talking about great quality, legit frames that are made with various materials like brass wood and sterling silver. ( yea you wont find cheap plastic crap here). The owner Paul, has over 20 Years of experience molding and crafting customized frames. I love a simple wood frame for a poster I purchased for a friend's birthday. The prices depend on the size and material of the frame, but definitely reasonable! The frame came out really nice and made the poster look even nicer. Highly recommended! read more

Love this place. I've had two large prints framed here and they were both done professionally and flawlessly. Price is actually cheaper than a place like Michael's. Love supporting my local business. Side note: I only review when I am completely satisfied with any service. read more

Absolutely in love with my finished pieces from Pastel! The shop owner is an absolute gentleman. He was very patient, offered his professional opinion on mat and frame selection, and delivered the final product quickly (2 weeks) and flawlessly! I will be returning to have more concert posters framed in the future. read more

Fantastic service through and through. Quality is second to none. Love taking my art and prints here.

Drove here over an hour from Brooklyn on a recommendation... Unfortunately place was closed an hour before they said they closed.

Recently I Took my picture to Pastels to repair a print that had a small rip in the print I had showed the owner the painting with a rip...I was not sure about him when I bought my picture the owner seemed at first not sure then he looked at this painting and guaranteed me this could be fixed it was perfectly framed in this beautiful white frame..he told me this was not problem I would have this after labor day and he would call me....well he never called..I went there and he told me he needed another week...then I called two weeks later I gave him some time and I asked him what happened to my painting ..he was jumbling his words on the phone and then I went there and told me it could not be fixed and basically lied to me and my painting was out of the beautiful white frame and I was so upset I walked out so basically he cannot fix prints and he lies to people with a straight face especially woman he has an skit and tries to be so convincing and does not follow through on his commitment. I would not ever go this place even for a framing...or recommend him he lies like a RUG... read more

Pastel Art - I would not have any repairs done at PASTELS - Framing Near Me - Astoria, New York

Paul is truly a craftsman and does excellent work. My husband and have had several large photos matted and framed at Pastel Art and the results are stunning. Paul takes care to advise on just the right shade of matte and frame width and the quality of his work is excellent. Grateful to have found this gem in the neighborhood and love the quality and attention to detail he provides! read more

Found this place via a Google search for picture framing services in Astoria. I had called three others before this one and this was by far the most professional and the cheapest. There are lots of options (including acrylic) and the work is always done on time, no delays, no drama. Only issue is that it's run by one person so it's best to call before showing up as I've come a few times during opening hours without calling to find it closed. read more

I've gotten a frame made for a poster and a mirror insertion to an existing frame. Both were done professionally and in a timely manner. In addition the cost was 1/4 the price of local competitors. I'm glad that I have such a good local business in my neighborhood. I highly recommend this framer. read more

Pastel Art is amazing and I take any art I need framed here for the quality and customization. I generally work with very custom-sized French press paper pieces, and I've never had an issue with getting anything framed. The one thing to keep in mind is that you may have a ~2 week wait, but this is totally fine considering most work is entirely custom-made, you're supporting local biz, and your art, prints, posters, etc. will look amazing! Thank you Pastel! read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could. I saw the reviews and decided to give this place a try. Regrets, I have many. First red flag was what other people have commented below on the "store hours". They're non existent. The guy shows up when he shows up. I attempted twice going and it was either too early or too late. Second red flag was that the place is a complete disorganized mess! Frames, garbage everywhere that you can barely walk into the store. I just needed a simple frame and matte but the color I wanted was a bit distinct so it had to be special ordered. I was told it would take 3 weeks. When it came time to pick up the frame I made sure to call the store to make sure they were open, when I inquired if my frame was ready he told me he would check and call back. When he did he tells me in his not so easy to understand English that the color of the frame I wanted had been discontinued so the frame was never made! Now why exactly would you not have called me weeks ago when you found out this piece of information so I could have gone somewhere else to get it done?? He had no excuse, no reason, no nothing. So I waited THREE weeks for NOTHING. Absolutely ridiculous and horrible customer service. Honestly I could have gone to the city and found some place cheaper and that could done it quicker but I wanted to support a local business. Silly me. This was a complete waste of my time. STAY AWAY!! read more

Great quality custom framing! The owner is kind, friendly, and dedicated to his work.

Great work, even better prices, fast turnaround, professional owner. Paul offers his opinion when you want it (and they're usually good opinions) and can sense when to stay back if you have a vision (I never do, but I've seen it). Nothing but positive experiences here over the last 5 years of patronage. read more

Don't get me wrong for price and quality of work I would give 4 or 5 stars. It's just a little tricky catching this place open at the right time. I went three times before being able to pick up my frames because I was either too early (10:30 am) or too late (7;30 pm). The hours listed online are wrong and the phone number listed is out of service. So once you leave your work make sure you check what his current hours are so you don't go through what I did. I am however, very happy with the finished work! read more

I just dropped off an 11x14 print. Cost for a distressed wood frame, matte and glass is $68. Pleased with the selection process and price. I'm sure the finished product will be just fine. read more

Great service and professional attention to detail. I took 3 prints there to be framed (even though there was another shop closer to me) and was very impressed with the results. I work in the art world and am very picky with how my own pieces should be framed. They didn't disappoint. I would definitely recommend this place!! read more

What a great shop! Great prices, amazing service! The owner is a master framer for many years. He gave me excellent advise on mat/frame colors! Compared to others in neighborhood, Pastel is the top! A small local business that I hope remains open for a long time to come. read more

Went there today with a Glicee print I was very excited about. The framer was wonderful, stepping me through my options, colors, various frames with patience and a great eye. He came up with a combo I'm ecstatic over. It was an actual joy to work with him, and the quoted price was exponentially less than the shop on 30th! If you're local say so. Locals get a discount. read more
