Someone in our party wanted some pasta. We found this place on Google and Yelp. Seemed to have nice reviews. Overall, the food was decent. Had a Caesar's salad with prawns, other party had a steak tatare. Linguine Nero, looks like a squid ink pasta with some mussels and octopus. Not bad. Had risotto with prawns. Risotto, maybe a tad undercooked. Desserts: Tiramisu and a mango sorbet. The sorbet was very tasty. Strong flavor of mangos. Not a fan or tiramisu so I did not try it. The service was just bizarre. We came in (not busy at-we actually chose a table). The water and menu came fairly promptly. The food and delivered somewhat.. for lack of a better word..brusquely. And then trying to get a check, maybe it's a cultural thing, but we literally had to sit up and frantically wave with our arms to flag down a waiter to get a check. This is a great Italian restaurant with very good food. I ordered a scaloppini thinking I'm eating seafood but it was beef. Probably my fault for not reading the menu carefully. It was scaloppini de manzo which was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered a spaghetti which came out very spicy. She told the waitress and they made a new one. The reason for 4 Stars is that they poor their wines very short. I had a Chablis and it's was delicious. read more

Ex-pat friends took me here for dinner. They set the bar high before we arrived, telling me this was one of the few restaurants they have visited multiple times. It has been awhile since I had visited, and forgot the full details of what we ate. I've been here 3 times and have been consistently impressed with the ambience, service and food. This latest time I went with a couple of Czech friends and had a very enjoyable 3 course lunch. On my friends' recommendation I had the coquilles St Jacques, which were excellent: full of flavour and yet soft and subtle. I liked the sound of the sweetbreads starter and they kindly expanded it a bit to make it into a main course for me. It was again excellent, although for some reason it had a similar flavour to my first course - maybe the same ingredients in the roux?. Dessert was a very nice selection of their small pastries. It was all washed down with a very nice bottle of Gruner Veltliner from Austria. The service was faultless, but that could have been because one of my friends is a famous Czech Lawyer well known to the management! read more

Yes, Yes, YES! As a Portlander (with high, non-touristy standards) I can give this place a 5 star review. There are no pictures to post because we devoured our food before we could think to capture it. The starters (salad/berries/goat-cheese, cannoli, seafood-salad) were superb, and the mains (steak, pasta, chilled-soup) were tasteful and exciting. Save room for dessert because the seasonal special was divine (apricot cake with black currant ice cream). We had a 300-400$ dinner for 4 people for 2000czk (about 80$). Very clean, service was friendly. Ambience is upscale--we weren't dressed very nice (long day of touristing)-- but no one made us feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. We didn't try the fish but it looked amazing, the waitstaff brought the fresh fish out to show and talk about it to another table before they cooked it. Note--their cheeses were particularly good; we had a goat cheese (on the salad) and mozzarella (with the pasta). Sounds like most ingredients are sourced locally from markets and farms. read more

I dined here twice this week. The Italian delicatessen in front had great cheese, meats, desserts and wine. Today I arrived precisely at 11 when they opened for lunch and experienced incredible service. Each course was a work of art and tasted as good as it looked. The white china really showed off each presentation. Pasta was tasty and al dente. The space was clean, cozy and comfortable. This was not only gourmet, it was high-value gourmet for the price. They were full by the time I left an hour and a half later. As a convenience, they had free Wi-Fi since I was dining alone. They cost me the desert would take 12 minutes to bake in the poppyseed muffin was so fresh, it was well worth enjoying my seat by the window. I ate Italian and two other locations this week, nearby and on a boat on the Vltava. This one topped both of them for taste, presentation and atmosphere. read more

After 6 days in Prague we needed an Italian restaurant. We found this delightful place near our hotel. The service and food were both excellent. I had the pappardelle with wild boar ragu and cranberries...and it was great. My wife had the risotto with duck also excellent. The bean soup and rocket salad with buffalo mozzarella were outstanding. We are used fine Italian restaurants in St Louis. This one ranks up well with them. read more

The poor service really overshadowed everything else. We had a reservation and were shown to our table outside, only to be told, quite rudely, by a different server we couldn't sit there and had to move. The second server clearly thought we had just walked up and sat down, and people were waiting, but he was very rude about it. We didn't kick up a fuss and moved inside. Then after a few minutes the same thing happened and we moved again. Service was slow, cheese offered for the pasta didn't show up until asking a different waiter again halfway through the meal. Really just complete chaos. The food was alright, and the ambience inside is actually pretty good - could've just been an off night for them but I've got no reason to go back. read more

we went to another restaurant close by that was booked for a private party...while walking around we stumbled on this place, and as we were looking at the menu an english couple were walking out and told us to stay...glad we listened to their advice. we had a table outside as the weather was lovely. we both got the fish special of the night which was outstanding, as was our starter salad. very nice reasonably priced wine list. wait staff courteous and spoke english well. overall a great dining experience and would highly recommend to others; you won't be disappointed. read more
