Took the family - all five of us - to this tiny restaurant on Rosemount Place for dinner last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were greeted by the Italian owner and I felt a bit guilty as he asked a couple who had finished their meal if they were ready to leave in order to seat us.
The owner - who in his authentic accent corrected our poor attempts at Italian while ordering - was friendly and took our starters order first. Garlic bread, bruschetta, melon with Italian ham, and Caprese salad were all good - the girls especially loved the garlic bread. The wine by the glass he told us was San Genovese and was
As the restaurant name tells you, the main course is pasta - he had many specials in addition to the regular menu items. We each had a plate of penne pasta with a different topping. The Marinara had clams and prawns, my Rustica had eggplant and anchovies, my wife's Alfredo was cream based with ham delight, and the girls had simple pastas with fresh Italian sausage. The owners son, was the cook and he did a nice job in his closet sized kitchen we could see from our table.
The desserts were also good, lemoncello, cannelloni, and a chocolate ice cream with hazel nuts that was excellent.
Give this little restaurant a try when you are looking for a nice plate of pasta in a friendly - but small - place. read more
