Chicken parmesan with white pasta on the side
    Lizzy L.

We passed by Pasta House on a weeknight and saw that they had live music (a keyboardist) on the patio and enjoyed a nice dinner with my kids outside. I loved the eggplant parmesan and garlic bread appetizers ($2 off during happy hour). My kids ordered toasted ravioli and cheese stick kids meals, both of which tasted like the boxed kind that I can buy at the grocery store freezer section (but they didn't mind). The chicken parmesan entree was delicious but the breading was a little soggy. We did like the shell pasta that it came with on the side. Overall it was a fine meal especially for a chain restaurant and we do like using their catering menu for bigger groups, especially their Family Meal Deals!

So it's March and I hadn't actually eaten at a Pasta House restaurant since October or November. If you know me you know that's rare and I typically eat there pretty regularly. This was my first time at the new Kirkwood location. It's clean and new and the place was not busy at 5pm on a weekday. I ordered the 6pc toasted ravioli and the Pasta con Broccoli (no mushrooms). Pasta House has changed a lot of their products over the last few years. The toasted ravioli have been about the size of a quarter for a couple of years and these seemed slightly larger. They always taste good. The Pasta con Broccoli was as expected but maybe the sauce was a little thin? It only takes another couple of minutes for the sauce to reduce some more and thicken up. Service was friendly. I'm sure I'll be back.

Here is the tiny piece of Lasagna I had to pay $18.99 for.

Great to have this new Pasta House near my daughter's house. We loved the one in university city. Always relatable and great service

The food is just frozen heated and sauce added. I ordered meatballs with a Caesar salad to go with it. The food just wasn't very appealing.

I really wanted the Philly cheese steak, but they were out of the beef and I wasn't feeling chicken. My son ordered the breakfast sandwich on a bagel with ham. There's no pic because he inhaled it and asked when I was going back. I settled for the gyro and was glad I did. There was so much meat on it, I'll add to a salad for another meal! The flavor was like nothing I've tasted before...so delicious! I'll definitely go back to try other sandwiches and make the rest of my family try it. It looks like an old 7-11 and you aren't eating inside, but don't let the looks deter you. A piece of advice I got...order online or call in the order so you get the freshest ingredients.

I will say the gyro is fantastic and they don't skip out on the veggies and sauce. It all comes on a pita which I don't really prefer for a gyro. I think a naan that is a bit thicker would be a perfect fit for this gyro. Besides that, I really like the reuben too. It's stacked high and comes with a nice toasted marble rye (I love a marbled rye!). Recently, I have been getting the gyro salad and I just love that there is a mountain of veggies AND a good amount of the gyro meat. The folks working there are always kind, the food is consistent and they are fast and clean.

I really liked the decor and the cool vibe. We ordered the spicy chicken katsu Sando and it was delicious. The meat was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Sando came with the side of fries. We got the togarashi fries and they were so addicting. Fries were not as crispy but very well seasoned and went perfect with the aioli sauce. We also tried the pork katsu rice bowl. I didn't like the sauce as much as the chicken Sando but it was still pretty good. I liked that the rice was well-cooked. You must try their ice cream. I would have come just for it alone. They have a good variety of flavors. My favorite was the miso taro and the yuzu caramel. The staff were very nice to us and the food came out quick. Highly recommend you guys checking this place out.

Very cool spot in Maplewood to add another option of food to their already diverse shopping strip!…read more Bf and I stopped in right when the snow started and got almost the entire place to ourselves. Clean restrooms and friendly staff, very important to me and this place has both! Owner or manager greeted us upon arrival and asked if we had been in before or needed any suggestions from the menu. I asked about the ice cream choices and considered saving room despite the cold outside...but sadly missed out and didn't get any at the end. Bf got the regular chicken katsu bowl and I went with the pork tonkatsu sando. Similar flavors but just depends on if you like using your hands or working with a fork. Feel like he got the right choice (but you miss out on bread if you go with the bowl) I think our favorite part was the fries, great seasoning and perfectly crisp outside.

First, I love that this is a locally family owned and run Busines. We tried the Zach and the Meatball sandwich. The Zach was packed with turkey, cheese and pesto. The Meatball sandwich is honestly one of the Top 10 Meatball sandwiches in STL! It truly highlights the famous Vitale Sauce/Gravy recipe! One Saturday I took my kids to Kirkwood park and decided to stop in at Vitale's on the way home. I'm so glad that I did! The shop isn't anything fancy, there is a counter inside and then a handful of tables outside. It is primarily a to go joint which is pretty standard for delis. It gives off the vibe that you should just stroll up from the neighborhood and grab something to eat, chat for a while with other locals, and then head home. It has a nice, no frills vibe that I really enjoyed. The sandwiches are pretty typical for an Italian Deli with most of them featuring variations of lunchmeat. I'm always a sucker for meatball sandwiches though so that is what I got with a side of chips. It was outstanding. The meatballs were GIANT and they were the right texture. It was large enough that I had to split it across two meals. The owner was really nice when I was inside and talked to both of my kids. My kids were so well behaved they convinced me to buy them a cannoli on the way out the door. Over this shop fills its niche well, the shop was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was good. I'll be stopping back in again in the near future.
