Because I ate too much of it as a student, I now tend to avoid eating pasta at home or when dining out. Or eating it at other people's houses. That's an indication of just how much I am through with it. I'm probably being unfair to one of Italy's national forms of carb though, as I've usually only had pasta many times in common dishes like spaghetti Bolognese, carne lasange or carbonara.
Its a relief them to see some options that are new to me at this Italian pasta restaurant. I order Penne Con Pollo E Gamberetti (chicken and prawns in garlic, basil, cream and white wine sauce). It's a whopper of a portion, rich, salty and tasty.
There are vegetarian options too, including risottos and a gnocchi dish with blue cheese and spinach sauce.
