You can tell they both really love what they do- and have put in the time to make Red Hot Swing what it is. I plan on returning. Recommend them both highly.

We booked RedHot Swing to perform at our national conference in Victoria. They would provide a…read moredance lesson to delegates and then have dancers stay around to assist delegates to learn. We booked them 6 months in advance. Then they disappeared for months, not answering emails or voicemails. Then two weeks before our event he called to say he was double-booked, and would have to do a minimal lesson by himself. Then he cancelled completely stating an artistic issue rather than admitting he had double-booked. This left us scrambling just 2 weeks before our event. How long had he known he was double-booked? Perhaps if he answered emails and calls! Completely unreliable and unprofessional.

The studio space is large with no impediments around the dance floor with really great mirrors and lighting. What really stands out for me is the franchisee Daniel. He was beyond nice to fit my husband and I in for an exchange lesson on a few days notice andddd stayed open late just for us because he didn't have any actual slots available. He also is facilitating the transfer of the lesson from our home studio without us lifting a finger. He was also just a beyond helpful teacher that explained and demonstrated things well and even in just one lesson gave us a lot of really great tips that vastly improved our dancing. 10/10 would do another exchange lesson here, and would recommend.

Given the pandemic I would have expected them to be more stressed or less patient but other than the masks it seemed unchanged, Well I was the only one in there but as I feel somewhat self-conscious having to try on sizes that work with my weirdly huge shoulders, which had ruled out female sizes and most men's sizes that the very roomy space where I ended due to the lack of anything there was discussed very professionally as a bonus for the type of suit as water that did get in would quickly warm. They had an excellent selection that was well laid out so you could see at a glance what you might be getting down the road as you got a better feel for what helps and what does not. I'm not sure how far they could go with improving accessibility as while I had no trouble getting in and most aisles were also easy to navigate there were places a walker could not go. The change rooms though had plenty of room. It was better than most retail situations where accessible is often getting in the door. Only putting this as other than one the reviews are all but one 5 star so in case they ever see this it's the tiny bit that could be slightly better. Possibly given the selection was very good and mostly visible where practical this could be solved with some way of viewing things that are in more challenging locations. While the staff are knowledgeable if you are new to using much gear at all it isn't immediately clear what might be useful.

The regulars who play here were also really nice and open which makes a big difference for new players. Sometimes regular players can make new kids feel intimidated but not this time. All in all a fun time. I would suggest if you want to feel like you're getting a better deal for your money (paint can be expensive) go on one of the special days they have like once a month where paint is cheaper. only other thing to know is that they really run a fast turnaround on games. Sometimes I felt like I barely had enough time between games to reload paint, air and wipe goggles etc. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun time with a group of friends, birthdays, work functions etc.

One of the ref's is grumpy, hard to tell if he was having a bad day or what but he seemed to be really cold, didn't answer questions, and when I went to buy more paint balls he literally shrugged and left, and I had to wait for another employee! The price is okay, although it gets WAY better, even if you have your own mask, the price of paint balls is a little steep but for the fun you have it's fine! The fields are good, going in wet weather will cause your clothes to get filthy, but it's a lot of fun, only complaint is the lack of game types and the cold and distant ref who just didn't give a damn about the customers and seemed to only be there to yell at the younger kids who broke the rules, this made him smile and was a little worrying!
