I was even happier to find that prices are reasonable, but slightly concerned I might chop off a toe. I really wanted to try this so I made my partner make reservations ahead of time (I did see quite a few people who tried to walk in turned away). The place is a teeny bit hidden inside a non descript building, but when you first walk in you can see it thru the glass window. We came by a little early and were able to get started early. It's kind of like bowling where you get your own lane and choose your own axe. I was happy to find that they had both bathrooms and wifi available. We received some instruction and coaching throughout our visit. Throwing an axe the exact right way to get it to stick into the wall is tricky. It is certainly something I still need to master, but I was over joyed when I finally got some picture worthy throws near the bulls eye. My partner thinks he is pretty good and is considering joining a league in the future. Even though we don't live in the area the employees were helpful and provided us info about the different kind of leagues and what we could expect if we joined one. I'd definitely check this out again and would even consider it somewhat of a work out.

It seemed simple enough, but there is totally a learning curve!!! Luckily for us, Axe and Grind has people there to coach us through the learning part so we could actually enjoy ourselves by sibling an axe into the target. This made a difference because they don't just send you off to throw axes randomly at wood boards. They explain how to do it, show you how to do it, watch you do it, then help you make adjustments until it starts clicking for you. Once it starts to click, then they teach you how to play the axe throwing game (I.e. what the red lead and blue dots mean and how to score). Once we got the hang out it, the games was super fun!! We even practiced doing the one handed throw. It was appprox. $22 per a person after tax for one hour. But you only need an hour. Lol. Any longer and your arms might hurt!! Usually, you share one lane for 2-4 people. Just like bowling, except with axes. It's like bowling and archery mixed into one game!!! It is hidden so you have to search a bit for the sign to find the location downtown. You also have to find street parking, which is a bummer. But you can always walk around to get your money of parking worth. I heard they get busier at night so we went in the late afternoon before dinner and the night crowd. We got a lane for each of us individually after having to share 2 lanes for 3 people. So was fun and not crowded for us. Def recommend. Something unique and fun to do with your friends and family!! Just remember to wear opened toe shoes. If you don't, they have crocs that you can borrow, but it requires you to wear shoes that strangers have worn before. I suppose nothing diff that bowling shoes, but if you can remember, wear closed toed shoes!

It was $8 for 80 balls and it is machine operated. I felt out of sorts with the professionalism of it, but then I realised that most ranges are similar and first time experiences are usually different. I did not particularly like how it was full, but it was great to be able to hit my driver and woods. It was also completely shaded and the view of the trees and Mount Doug in the background is nice. Second time around will likely result in a different rating.

Given the pandemic I would have expected them to be more stressed or less patient but other than the masks it seemed unchanged, Well I was the only one in there but as I feel somewhat self-conscious having to try on sizes that work with my weirdly huge shoulders, which had ruled out female sizes and most men's sizes that the very roomy space where I ended due to the lack of anything there was discussed very professionally as a bonus for the type of suit as water that did get in would quickly warm. They had an excellent selection that was well laid out so you could see at a glance what you might be getting down the road as you got a better feel for what helps and what does not. I'm not sure how far they could go with improving accessibility as while I had no trouble getting in and most aisles were also easy to navigate there were places a walker could not go. The change rooms though had plenty of room. It was better than most retail situations where accessible is often getting in the door. Only putting this as other than one the reviews are all but one 5 star so in case they ever see this it's the tiny bit that could be slightly better. Possibly given the selection was very good and mostly visible where practical this could be solved with some way of viewing things that are in more challenging locations. While the staff are knowledgeable if you are new to using much gear at all it isn't immediately clear what might be useful.

Everyone was friendly and professional, views were incredible (obviously this depends on Mother Nature), and the zip line was extremely fun! Even the transport from the cruise terminal to the business and back had wonderful drivers full of information about the area! I love the devices they have to help little ones launch their bowling balls. Genius idea. Flashing, neon lights along with projected colorful light displays. I felt like I was back in the 70s in one of my disco haunts. Those were the days... I love the bumpers feature that is available. I really needed them. I was there on a Friday night and it got pretty loud, making conversation a practical impossibility but Im sure it is much calmer during the day. Not 100 percent on that but one would guess so. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was surprisingly good. My club sandwich was terrific and the quesadillas, nachos and tomatoe bisque were equally as good. Can't say the same for the fries though. They also serve alcoholic beverages. Can get pricey, especially if you're a family, and you have no choice but to rent those nasty bowling shoes.
