We went the first of April on a wine-tasting road trip from Nor-Cal and were not disappointed. We…read morereserved an outdoor cabana with private seating for up to 5 guests and a beautiful view of the vineyard. Service was fast and friendly. Our waitress (?) didn't share her name but she was very knowledgeable about the winemaker and the wines and quickly shared what she knew before we had to ask. All the wines were lovely. We would def recommend.

We have…read morestayed loyal to Austin Hope--even when cutting other clubs--specifically because of the service, but that era has clearly ended. We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

Since we were all…read morefrom out of town--and one member of our group is vegan--we were looking for a nice restaurant that could accommodate everyone. This restaurant came highly recommended, and it absolutely lived up to the praise. When we arrived, the setting was lovely, and we were warmly welcomed by Michelle. She was gracious, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We especially appreciated the personalized place card waiting for us with our reservation. At first, my wife and her friend were a bit unsure as they reviewed the menu, as they didn't immediately see options that appealed to them. However, that quickly changed. Our friend ordered the asparagus salad and croquettes, while my wife chose the rosemary garlic grilled prawns and roasted heirloom carrots. Both dishes completely exceeded expectations--they were blown away by how flavorful and well-prepared everything was. Over the course of our trip, we visited many wineries and enjoyed several excellent meals throughout the Central Coast. Yet by the end of it, both my wife and her friend agreed that this dinner stood out as the most memorable--truly the highlight among many great experiences. Thank you for starting our trip on such a high note.

My wife enjoyed the diverse food offerings and the walking in between. Make sure you wear good comfy shoes btw!!! Our tour started at 1pm and ended at 4:30pm. We met at Mama Ganache Artisan Chocolates where met the people in our group and our guide, Yule. We sampled some amazing chocolates and heard about why chocolate is so good for you in moderation. We moved onto Jaffa Cafe and had a choice of gyro, chicken, or veggies. The garlic paste, hummus, and pita bread along with the salsa bar were so delish. We then marched our way to Guiseppe's and sat outside in the back and heard about the restored building and new home for this fine Italian restaurant. Amazing. Butternut squash filled raviolis with a creamy white sauce paired with some bread and Artisan Mineral Water from Italy had us all oooing and ahhhing. We then walked alongside the creek and made our way to the Old San Luis Bbq Company and had a taste of their Santa Maria Style bbq: chicken, tri-tip, and pulled pork with some beans, bread and corn pie with a kick to it. Yule asked us if we wanted our dessert to go and we all agreed. He left and brought back some cheesecake and some blondie brownies. We were so stuffed than many put their desserts with their bbq. Yule is a very nice gentlemen from the Ukraine and he was full of info about the history of the city (of San Luis Obispo), the restaurants, the old buildings, the Mission and the food, wine, and olive oil. If you like food, walking and talking, then you will love it!!!

We enjoyed delicious food and wine choices from some of the best restaurants in the city while being entertained and captivated by Laura's stories of Paso Roble's history. We are even more motivated to return to Paso Robles for a future adventure in cuisine and history.
