I did try Hi Quality (Paul) out. I didn't post this review for a while, but I keep getting a pop up…read moreto do so here goes...Letme just share my experience, and I will say again, this is just my experience, this is not meant for anybody not to try them. Times are difficult right now with the pandemic and people are finding different ways to earn a living. I don't want to impact anybody's ability to earn a living; But as consumers we also want to make sure we are getting the most for the money that we are working hard to earn during a difficult time. So here goes....
There are a few different options of packages on their website. I tried to go with the lowest package I think it was probably in the range of $150. But I agreed to be open to the option of other things should they come up when he's doing my car.
I have a 2020 Black Volvo SUV, well maintained, is garaged daily, less than 7k miles, previously washed/detailed by Foamka. Yes i have taken it about 2x to 808 drive thru car wash lol but again still a pretty much newer vehicle.
Paul arrived at my house at 8 for this wash was done at 4:08. During the course of the wash, he suggested multiple things saying he didn't like this or that, that he saw on the paint, i was busy working from home so I pretty much said yea to whatever he suggested as I was prepared for a full detail so i was fine paying for a detail.
I was called outside a few times for these suggestions.
I would Say about 75% of the time was spent on the exterior and maybe 25% on the interior. Which makes sense, as the exterior is more exposed. But I thought that was kind of odd. The interior seem to be more of a vacuum and wipe down, and also the mats washed. But realistically the mats really didn't need to be washed. A vacuum would've been fine. I don't work in the outdoors I don't walk in dirt and get in my car and my car is garaged. So the mats are fine
I got the text around 4:08 that he was done - took him About 30-45 minutes more to clean up and be out.
I paid $335 - To be honest it wasn't worth $335.
My boyfriend actually joked that I got a $25 wash for $335 lol (of course that was an exaggeration)
It was a wash. Next rain, nothing beaded off the paint like i was told was going to happen with some special Coating that Was used.
Water spots on windshield were pretty bad too, more noticed in the sun. Actually still There, we ordered a product we r waiting for to remove them. Perhaps not his or anyones fault, maybe just hard water....
My Mats were left sitting out on my driveway to continue drying (which he told Me so i was aware even though i thought that was odd) so I had to put them back myself. Maybe a better idea would Be to wash mats first and not have them sitting on a dirty driveway, this way the whole job can be finished before you leave.
I have to be honest i think it took way too long for really a wash, maybe spray down with some sort of wax thing and inside vacuum. 8-4:08 pm?? 8 hours and another 30-45 for clean up? I think that's a bit long to, 1) be without your car and 2) have someone at your house.
This was not by any means a full detail or Restoration of a Vehicle in need of a lot of work, this was a wash, maybe with some different products, but it was a wash just the same. No reason for it to take this long. And again this is a new vehicle. I have had restorations and paid the person to do a restoration of a vehicle that was in horrible condition, and it took them about the same amount of time which makes sense because of the amount of work that was needed. There was not a lot of work here.
Also remember this is mobile detailing, so my electricity is being used for any supplies used that require an outlet - And I have an enclosed garage which makes the job a little bit easier. I think all these things need to be factored into pricing.
My son has a lot of car wash supplies for his own car, he felt bad for what i paid For this wash, so he actually washed my car a few weeks after. I am not lying when I say I think my son actually did a better job on the exterior of my car.
I think Paul is a really nice guy, very personable and I hope his business as well. I think there needs to be a little more review of pricing in comparison to the services. I don't think the price points are accurate right now. You need to look at what you are giving the customer and the end result and see if the price matches that. Longevity can't be the only factor. You can spend 10 hours somewhere but if you produce what someone else can do in two hours then you need to be charging just for the work you do not the hours you spend there. Just my opinion. Again I wish Paul well and I hope he does well.
For my fellow yelpers, if you're looking for a truly good work, good detail, Good restoration services, while I personally don't like his customer service and i no longer go to him, Ben with Foamka really Does do good work and he is timely. I realized more after this Experian how good Ben's work is.
