Wes was attentive, caring, honest and saved me time and money whenever he could, in whatever way he could, no matter how busy he was. I was visiting out of town from Bend Oregon when the AC in my car completely busted. It was a huge repair (compressor) and everyone I called was booked solid. I literally called and texted about 10 people to find out how I could get this situation handled so I wouldn't have to drive 4 hours in the blaring summer sun with no AC in my car. And no one could get me in. Except Wes Ducat at Steve Tire & Auto Repair. Wes moved his entire schedule around in order to get my car in and out on time, so I could get home safely without having to spend an arm and a leg on the repair. He graciously called and texted me whenever there was an update on my car and he worked his butt off to make sure I was taken care of. I have no clue how to repay his kindness except to write this review and say that, Wes, your karma is clear for the next hundred years, bud!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. We rented a van to continue our trip, and on faith, left our suv in his parking lot. First thing Monday morning he called me, had already contacted our warranty company, approved the repair, had the parts and said it would be done in a few hours. The next day when we came back through town he stayed late to meet us and get us back on the road. Everything was reasonably priced, and real honest work. I had purchased the parts and expected to pay to have the hose put on. I first went first went Jiffy lube on Williams and Jadwin. They said they didn't do that kind of work and referred me to McCue's Repair across the street. I thanked them and went to McCue's. I explained the situation to the lady behind the counter. Last week, I brought my 2018 Infiniti in to see if they could install a set of new downpipes. The staff acted as though the job was unusually complicated and referred me to the mechanic in the back. After speaking with him, I was told the work could be completed on Tuesday and that it would take approximately 2.5 hours. I arrived right when they opened at 8:30 AM and dropped off my vehicle as instructed. Around 11:30 AM, after hearing nothing, I called to check on the status. The employee who answered informed me they hadn't even touched my car yet and claimed I was supposed to bring it directly to the mechanic in the back--a requirement that was never mentioned during my previous visit. He then assured me the mechanic had just arrived and was beginning work on my vehicle. Then, at approximately 1:40 PM, I received a phone call saying, "Bad news, bro, he can't do it today, so you need to come pick up your car." How does a shop take nearly six hours to determine that absolutely nothing can be done? More importantly, why schedule the job for that day in the first place if nobody was actually prepared to perform the work? Unfortunately, the experience got even worse. When I arrived to pick up my car, I discovered that my downpipes and hardware had been removed from the box I left them in and were sitting on the shop floor because they supposedly wanted to "make it easier" for the mechanic. If nobody touched my car, why were my parts unpackaged and lying around the shop? After leaving, I immediately received a check engine light for a downstream O2 sensor. I cannot say with certainty what caused the issue, but it was concerning that the warning appeared immediately after my visit, especially considering that the O2 sensors are located in the same general area as the work that was supposed to be performed. Combined with the fact that I personally saw the vehicle driven onto a lift and my parts removed from their packaging, the shop's claim that nothing was touched simply did not make sense to me. To make matters worse, I attempted to contact Daniel Cano multiple times. Six calls were made, messages were left with staff, and nobody bothered to return the call. When we finally reached him, he denied that anyone had touched the vehicle despite the circumstances raising obvious questions. The most shocking part was when my aunt called to explain the situation. According to her, Daniel responded by saying, "You're just a girl, you don't understand cars." If true, that kind of dismissive and disrespectful attitude toward customers is completely unacceptable. Between the poor communication, wasted time, lack of accountability, and disrespect shown throughout this entire experience, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with an automotive shop. Do not trust this place with your vehicle. I will never give them another dollar, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I chose not to take a total loss because my car was still drivable, so I went to pick it up. When I arrived, the front desk lady told me my car was ready and would be brought out. A few moments later, a male worker came out and told me my bumpers and lights were already off and asked me what I wanted to do with them. I was confused and told him I was not aware my car had already been torn apart. He went back inside, then came back out and told me to return in about an hour so he could put the car back together. At that point, the front desk lady who originally told me my car was ready apologized and said, "Oh my God, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize everything was off. Come back in about an hour and we'll have your car ready." That was all that was said. There was absolutely no mention of any fee. Later that day, I received a call saying my car was ready, but now there was suddenly a $150 reassembly fee that had never been mentioned. When I raised concerns, the lady on the phone clearly had an attitude and seemed annoyed that I was questioning it. Instead of explaining or taking accountability, she immediately offered the option of tearing my car back down and having me arrange my own tow truck since the car "wouldn't be drivable," which made no sense because the car was already put back together. After hearing I was upset, she offered $20 off for the so-called "miscommunication." When I arrived to pick up the car, the front desk lady immediately apologized and admitted she "forgot to tell me there was a fee." How you forget to mention a $150 charge is beyond me. I was then told to bring this issue to my insurance. I contacted them, and the insurance representative confirmed this was the shop's fault and did his best to help. He also mentioned the shop claimed I was given the option to take the car as-is or have it put back together, which is simply not true. If I had known my car was already torn apart, I would never have agreed to take it back. A $150 surprise fee for a single mother right around the holidays is absolutely insane. The lack of communication and training should not fall on the customer. Customers shouldn't be paying for the shop's incompetence, and the receptionist shouldn't even be working if important fees are going to go over their head. I should've chose Mathew's Auto Body instead.
