Parking is behind the building and it's free .

I just want to say thank you for making me feel relaxed & safe. The 2 Front desk Staff "amazing, kind and friendly. The nurse who took me in was also so nice . I hate Needles, but she made me safe. Thank you anesthesiologist for making me laugh before I felt sleep while playing George Michael music . Everyone in the office deserves a bonus.

Honestly, the poor 1 star reviews here are shocking to read because our experience couldn't be…read moreanything further from this and I would give a 10 star rating if I was able. It's not everyday you find out that your mom is having heart failure, come in feeling devastated/hopeless, but these people did their absolute best to take care of us with compassion, integrity, and go above and beyond to address our needs. This entire process was almost 2-3 months long, my mom had a complex 15 hour surgery, and yet made a recovery in less than 2 weeks, and was discharged today and is now soundly back at home, and it's all because of the incredible team here. There's a lot of people to name from their amazing staff but here's some specific people that left an incredible impression on us I'd love to give credit to: Station 45: Sydney the nurse was extremely warm, compassionate, and took such great care of my mom during the initial stages of her being admitted in January while they were diagnosing her condition. Critical Care Unit: Joe, Cassie, Cesar who treated my mom with the utmost respect, patience, dignity, and care given her post op condition. No matter how much assistance was needed by my mom, big or small, they attended to her swiftly in all manners, continually provided me reassurance, and thoughtfully answered any and all questions and concerns. Extra special shout out to Felicia Sanders and Haig who went above and beyond to provide my mom with the utmost comfort, you both were angels. Step down unit, floor 2, of West Tower: Shannon, Letty Martinez, Jazzmin, Elena, Becky, Gloria, Robert, Rhonald, Carlos, Art, Brenton, and Jed. Wow this team was also incredible. They continually checked on my mom as well through the day and night, encouraged her walking and movement, breathing treatment, independence, and literally guided her every step of the way in that journey. Extra special shout out to: Hailey Milsark, Mary Cavena, Emily, and Yolanda. I visited her everyday, and never once had to leave with any doubt or worry in my heart and soul, knowing she was in exceptional hands. Cardiothoracic surgery team: Dr Lim, Dr Bob, Dr Andy Chang, Elysa Guran, Melissa, Sunita Boparai, and of course, Dr Armin Kiankhooy and Dr Grace Huang who performed miraculous work in a lengthy, complex, and demanding procedure(s). There isn't enough words to describe our awe at the superhuman job you did to put my mom on the path of recovery and healing given her initial diagnosis. We feel extremely blessed and count our lucky stars that the universe gave us the good fortune to have been put under your guidance and care. Sorry to anyone I may have accidentally missed, but we truly love and appreciate you all. We recognize how difficult your work and job is, and just how demanding it is, and yet you all were continually at it, day and night, with the highest positive attitudes and energy and it made all the difference for us in our healing. You are all the real heroes and we hope you get all the credit and respect you deserve, because this was one of the hardest things we had to go through in this journey of life, and you all made it as pleasant and smooth of an experience as could be. In our experience, we were treated with love, care, dignity, and gentleness, and made to feel like we were a part of their family/friends. I'm no medical expert, but I believe the high level of care we received here is why my mom is making such an exceptional recovery. You all have helped give her a new lease on life. We are truly grateful beyond the words I was able to write here.

One year ago today I had one of the worst medical experiences of my life at Huntington Health…read more I went to the ER with severe stomach pain. A CT scan was performed, but the radiologist apparently misread the results. My appendix had already ruptured and I had an appendicular abscess forming around what remained of it. Because of this error, I was left without surgery for an additional night while in excruciating pain. Surgery did not occur until the following evening. When I was taken into the surgical room, there was blood on the ceiling, which was shocking and unsettling to see before a procedure. After surgery, I was placed in the maternity ward being used as overflow because there were no available rooms. The room felt like a closet. The TV did not work, and the monitoring system initially didn't work either--they had to go find another one. I was given a PureWick catheter device to urinate with, and it was never changed during my stay. I later developed a severe urinary tract infection. A nurse in my family told me these devices are supposed to be replaced multiple times a day. One night after surgery around 3 AM, I woke up in excruciating pain and repeatedly pressed the nurse call button, but the remote didn't work. I could hear nurses laughing nearby but no one responded until I gathered enough strength to yell out. Only then did staff come in. I also remember a night when blood was drawn and the nurse smelled strongly of alcohol, which was extremely concerning. Overall, the experience was chaotic, painful, and deeply unsettling. Between the diagnostic error, the lack of responsiveness, and poor post-operative care, I would strongly caution anyone to think twice before going to this ER if other options are available.

My grandma is 97 years old, bedridden, and completely dependent on other people to care for her. I had to ask for pillows and blankets so I could rotate her myself, and I had to ask for a diaper to change her myself because they had no plan on doing it-- even though my grandma was laying there for almost 12hrs. Unfortunately we come to this hospital because it's close to home. I understand ERs get busy. But being busy doesn't mean basic care and empathy should disappear!! When I asked for help, I got looked at like they were annoyed or I was interrupting their social hour. When it comes to my grandma I don't play, so I was really disappointed.. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! And what really broke my heart is thinking about the patients who DON'T have family there to advocate for them. Imagine if I wasn't there for my grandma? Who would've changed her? Cleaned her? Made sure she was even comfortable? That's scary to think about. People come to the ER vulnerable, scared, sick, and needing compassion -- not attitude and neglect. The way some of these nurses acted was disgusting and disappointing.

The pre-op process was super smooth -- I got a call a couple of days before my surgery to come in, fill out paperwork, and go over all my pre-surgery instructions. Everyone I interacted with was kind, patient, and made sure I understood everything I needed to know. On the day of surgery, the nurses were amazing! They helped me get ready, checked in often, and made sure I was comfortable while waiting. One even asked if I was cold and offered to warm up my bed -- they hooked up this little tube that blew warm air into my blankets, and it was honestly the coziest thing ever. It really helped calm my nerves. They also let my fiancé stay with me until it was time for surgery, and he had a seat right next to my bed. Later, they showed him where to wait while I was in the OR, which I appreciated. When it was time for surgery, I was wheeled into the OR (which was a bit intimidating -- so bright and white!) but the team moved quickly, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in recovery. The nurses there were very attentive -- I was in quite a bit of pain and super thirsty, and they immediately helped with pain management and brought me ice chips and water. They even brought my fiancé in to be with me while I waited for my room. After about 40 minutes, I got my own private room, which was great since I needed frequent checks and help moving around. The room itself was clean, though the hospital overall does look a little dated -- some of the furniture had visible wear and tear, but cleanliness wasn't an issue. The only downside was that my room didn't have hand soap or paper towels for almost 5 hours, so I had to use the wet wipes I brought from home. Overall, my stay was comfortable, the staff was caring, and the process was well-organized. I'm healing well and feeling so much better -- really grateful to the team here for taking good care of me.

I've never been to a chemo facility before. You expect something sterile or clinical, but City of Hope South Pasadena is different. It's human. It's kind. The people here don't just clock in -- they show up. From the front desk to the nurses to the volunteers offering water and candy, everyone treated my friend with dignity and genuine care. We were there about four hours, and in that time, I saw more quiet heroism than most people see in a lifetime. Nurses moving with precision and grace, comforting patients like family. No chaos, no coldness -- just empathy and skill in perfect balance. They even offered me water and candy while I waited -- a small gesture, but it meant the world. It reminded me that while medicine keeps people alive, kindness makes it bearable. Life is short. Sitting here makes you realize how fragile it all is -- and how strong people can be in the face of something so heavy. To the staff here: you are heroes. To anyone reading this -- hug your loved ones, laugh more, and don't take a single day for granted. City of Hope South Pasadena isn't just a medical facility -- it's a place where hope has a heartbeat. The care is professional, the staff are angels in scrubs, and the compassion is real. I also thought it would be good to have an "in" just in case. Unfortunately, my experience didn't go well. To be honest, I have a fear of going to doctors and avoid it as much as possible. I arrived early for my appointment as instructed. The staff at the front desk were courteous and professional. About 10 minutes before my scheduled time a nurse escorted me to the room and took my vitals. When she was done, she said the doctor would be in shortly. 35 minutes later - no doctor. The room was cold, my fingers were numb, and I had to get back to work so I walked over to the front desk and told them I was leaving. The next day I received a call asking me if I wanted to reschedule. I said no because I was afraid the doctor would be a no show again and I would find another doctor. Later that day I received another call asking me the same thing, and I gave the same answer. This time the scheduler told me there were two other doctors in the network at the same location and she could book me an appointment with one of them. Unfortunately, the soonest appointment isn't until the end of July but she said she would also put me on the wait list. I appreciate that she went the extra mile to help me. Hopefully, I'll have better luck on my next visit. *Private parking lot.

I was a bit confused and reminded her that I was checking in for detoxing off of a controlled substance. She then said "we do our best with what we can here, then we call 911." At this point I have to end the intake session as I was flabbergasted at the lack of knowledge, the lack of professionalism and the lack of education in regards to what this facility is not only advertising, but is listing as one of their specialties. I will say it's probably more of a psych ward and it's very pretty outside so if you need to commit someone like a family member or have to get a 5150, I'm sure it's perfectly suitable.

From the moment I arrived, every nurse I encountered has been an absolute sweetheart--attentive, compassionate, and genuinely caring. They never let me fall asleep feeling worried, and they consistently made me feel safe and supported. I came into the ER on Tuesday night with my children, and the staff helped me immediately. What started as a normal day ended with me being admitted and scheduled for surgery. I'm here alone, and while my kids are thankfully with family, being in the hospital on a holiday by yourself is a heavy feeling. You want to be home, but you also don't want to take anyone else away from their plans. The reality of my surgery hit me hard. Wanting a tiny bit of comfort, I called the kitchen right as they were closing just to ask--if possible--for some ice cream. Nothing specific, just something small to lift my mood. I got the voicemail and left a simple message, saying I understood if it wasn't doable and wishing them a happy holiday. About 20-30 minutes later, there was a knock at my door. Even though the kitchen was closed, a staff member brought me a cup of ice cream--and surprised me with the sweetest little strawberry cake topped with whipped cream. That act of kindness meant so much to me. It's those small, thoughtful moments that remind you how good people can be.
