Upon observing the Langley Senior Center, I noticed numerous senior citizens leaving with boxes, some carrying several. I understand that they distribute 200 food boxes each Friday. The distribution follows a first-come, first-served system, with individuals arriving early in the morning to obtain their food boxes. In addition, Monterey Park also arranges a monthly food distribution at Barnes Park. To participate, one must submit an application, provide identification, and furnish proof of residency in Monterey Park. My friend takes advantage of the transportation services by contacting the Langley Senior Center.

The living spaces I saw were spacious and clean, and the public areas were well-tended and contemporary. I enjoyed dining with my friend; the meal was delicious. I was impressed that the chef stopped by to personally check on us. . The selection of daily activities, social events, a work-out area and craft center were exciting and impressive. I felt very safe and cozy at Astoria Park. It's definitely on my list as I consider active senior living options near neighborhood amenities.

The facility is very bright clean and has a very fresh feel about it. They offer classes for seniors which is only a dollar. You have to join and the membership is only $10 for one year which is a great bargain!!! I have met some very nice people. There is no parking lot for this facility so you park on the streets. Be aware of the time limit and parking and Glendale is notorious for giving out tickets if you don't curb your wheels.

My friend recently had one there and the roof started leaking right in the middle of her party. The staff tried to help and called maintenance but since it was Saturday and they all apparently live far away no one came. The dance floor was sectioned off. The party was still great but there was a small inconvenience from it. My friend called the offices on Tuesday to ask for her deposit back and she had no record of the leak and put the money on hold since there was an apparent "incident" the night before. This place is a rip off. They will find any little thing to keep your money but will not step up and take the blame when they are at fault for things. Being a long time El Monte person this is very disappointing.
