Horrible experience with the petting zoo. We paid $5 each and a total of $15 to get in and we were ONLY allowed THREE MINUTES!!! (Yes I timed it)The girl that greets you at the gate and allows you in the petting zoo is so miserable. She doesn't even look interested or happy to be there. She is dealing with children and she can't even be nice or pleasant? SAD! When I questioned the THREE minutes she stated "I don't make the rules." And then said "there is a long line." With a half smirk on her unhappy face. I went to the counter and spoke to two girls and told them of my experience and they apologized and gave my son the small pumpkin he was holding in his arms. Oh yes one more thing the animals looked malnourished and not well kept. I really hope they get someone who is customer friendly to take over because it is clear she is worn out and hates her job. I've been coming to this Pumpkin Patch with my son for the past 3 years. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. They have so much to do here for the kids- pony rides, a petting zoo, and our favorite, the bounce house section. And a large, organized selection of pumpkins! We will be coming back every year. read more

I dont typically write reviews unless my experience is really good...or really bad. Unfortunately, this review is due to a terrible experience at the pasadena pumpkin patch. Oh, where to start. First, the good. Plenty of parking in the CVS parking lot, which is where this "patch" is located. The pumpkins are in a shaded area, so you don't have to worry about your baby being burnt by the sun (we went with my 3 month old). That's pretty much it for the good. Now the bad: 1. We went in with the intention of picking up a pumpkin after trying at the Cal Poly pumpkin fest (had to leave early due to the heat and a fussy baby). We also wanted to memorialize the experience with some photos. Well, anyone with a baby knows that when baby is happy, it's time to take some photos. The owner had different plans, however. He hovered around indicating numerous times that there was a minimum purchase of $10. AKA make your purchase now and then leave since your baby will be a monster and unwilling to cooperate for photos. There are a couple of issues with this. Number 1, NOTHING IS STATED AT THE ENTRANCE SAYING $10 PURCHASE IS REQUIRED. I don't go to a grocery store under the expectation that I need to buy at least $x.xx of produce, I sure as hell don't need to do that for a parking lot pumpkin patch. Second, don't go chasing people down in the parking lot who left without making a purchase and demand that they buy a $10 pumpkin. Yes, you heard that right. People left his Tent of BS and were in the parking lot walking back to the car when he literally ran after them to tell them they needed to make a $10 purchase. Wtf are you smoking and where can I get some? Just don't charge me $10 for that info. 2. Price. This pumpkin patch charges $10 for a medium size pumpkin, which you can pick up at Walmart for less than $5. I saw an older review talk about $8 pumpkins. I guess this place thinks that the market value of pumpkins have increased 25% since last year. The pumpkin business must be doing great! Or maybe cost of living in California has increased by 25% since last year. It probably did increase but not enough to justify a 25% increase in prices. Whatever the reason, it's overpriced. On top of that, $7 for a pony ride and $5 petting zoo. I wish I had taken a picture of the sad ponies. They are attached to a pole and walk in a 6 foot diameter circle in the back where there is little light. If the owner is so desperate for a sale, I'll pay his $10 to unhook those poor ponies, chain him up and then watch him walk in circles for a few minutes. I'll even throw in an extra $10 to sweeten the deal. 3. Selection is limited, but this is to be expected with the small space, so I wouldn't ding them too much for this. It is in a parking lot after all. I'd avoid this place until the owner decides to run his business ethically. Post a sign out front stating a minimum purchase is required, or just avoid being an all around sleazy salesman. I know they won't post a sign as no one would enter the Sad Pasadena Tent of Overpriced Pumpkins and Abused Animals. If you do go, watch the owner walk around and offer to take pictures for families. Nice gesture, right? Well, he does this right before putting on his bullying salesman hat and telling them that a $10 purchase is required. Great job, you just made a sale! I can see straight through your false hospitality. Also, a review from someone saying that they drove down from San Francisco for this pumpkin patch??? What a load of sad pony shit!!! There are very specific reasons why I am giving this establishment four stars. Quick tip: It is in the same lot as the CVS so you might be inclined to miss it. It's on the corner and there is sufficient parking in the lot. Overall it is a small lot but efficient. What I absolutely love is that we were able to take our Halloween pictures without anyone bothering us. They have the cutest set up I have seen in a small pumpkin patch. While most places would charge you, they leave you alone and they even provide you with a cute wagon to carry pumpkins if needed. There are cornstalks, clean stacks of hay and lots of hay on the ground. They have pony rides, a petting area and big jumpers. The reason I take off half a star is because the pony ride is only a few mins long at best and its $7. Another half a star because the petting zoo area is extremely small and cramped. You are only allowed a limited amount of time and it is $5 for each person. We did not pay to use the bouncy area but I saw that there are quite large bouncers and there is a little shady area for parents to sit and wait for their children. Moving on, they have great pumpkins. From tiny all the way to large. They have gray pumpkins, white pumpkins etc. The staff is nice and helpful as well. Solid star added because the pumpkins are picture perfect and once again, allowing our toddler to run around (not damaging anything or touching others) while we chase her for pictures, priceless. read more

We went here to get a couple pumpkins to carve and picked out two medium sized pumpkins (about basketball size), one a little larger than the other. We didn't see signs posted for prices of the pumpkins, and when we went up to pay, we were shocked to find out that one pumpkin was $15 and the other was $12! I thought he was joking at first but he wasn't. We went to Ralph's and got the same size pumpkins for $5 each. Don't waste your money! read more

This was our first time here today. I wished I would have found a medium size white pumpkin but overall a nice selection of classic pumpkins. There were lots of families all taking pics with their kids and looking for pumpkins. It looks like a nice outing for a family. Owner or manager running the place was very friendly and welcoming. This place is great if u have little kids or have to pick up pumpkins on the go. I have a 1 year old and she loved running around and playing in the petting zoo. The pumpkin patch is cute. The prices are reasonable and the staff is wonderful. This is our second year dealing with Julio. He is very helpful and had great suggestions as to what we should buy for our upcoming events. Last year he supplied us with all the pumpkins we needed for our mother's senior home. This year we are getting bales of hay an cornstalks for a church activity. We get out Christmas tree here every year as well. You won't be disappointed. read more

Really fun. Very good "get away" feel in an area in the very middle one of Pasadena's busiest business districts. Fun feel once you walk into the area. A really large, fun assortment of pumpkins & Halloween gourds. Their is places such as discount/grocery stores that offer pumpkins at slightly lower prices, but this place has a much more fun & festive Halloween holiday feel & experience then what you would get at those other places. Very nice assortment of animals & horses. All the staff is very nice. We really enjoy visiting there & have gone there several times last & this year. We can't drive by without our 2 year old daughter calling "pumpkin, pumpkin!" Very much recommend as a fun little Halloween get away in the middle of urban Pasadena. read more

The owner (I believe he was the owner) was amazing! He sold us 2 extra large pumpkins for $20 total. These were big enough to normally sell for about $50. The price was so low because he said they had more pumpkins this year and wanted to make sure they all got sold in the next few days. My 7-yr-old stepson loved the blow up slides and the bouncy houses. We all loved the petting zoo. The goats were super cute and loved to be massaged! The guy working near the animals was awesome and even told us how to grab the ducks once we caught them! They didn't want to be grabbed, but I couldn't help it, my inner child came out and I had to pet them too! The petting zoo area was small, but luckily we were the only one's in there at the time :-) I highly recommend taking the kids here and grabbing a few huge pumpkins too! read more

This is small pumpkin patch in the CVS parking lot on Lake, next to Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffle. Plently of parking so that's good. The vicinity consisted a small pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, pony rides and various jumphouses. I thought it was quite expensive for the petting zoo and pony ride. $5 for the perting zoo and $7 for the pony ride! Like whatttt... I've definitely been to cheaper ones and they're just as fun. You also need to buy tickets to go into the jumphouses. This is still a great place to take pictures with the pumpkins for memory sake. Saw lots of parents taking pictures of their kids in costume by the pumpkim patch. There were lots of different sizes of pumpkins and they have wagons for you to put them in since some can be very heavy. The tiny ones were so cute. If I could give negative stars I would. Don't waste your time dealing with this business. I was put in charge of organizing my son's school pumpkin patch fundraiser. I called Guy and spoke on 3 different occasions and even went to the patch in person once. He assured me he could get me the pumpkins we needed at the quoted price and deliver them to our school. Then 3 days before the event when I call HIM he tells me he's too busy to deliver for us. I was FLOORED! I asked for again for him to reconsider since I would be spending $1500 on pumpkins and paying for delivery and he stopped answering my calls and emails. What a jerk. He has lost a customer and a school for life. Luckily I called the Smith Family pumpkin patch in La Crescenta and they BEAT his prices, delivered on time and made a lot of kids happy. Though my pumpkin patch experience was not the "full shebang", this place was a neat place to come bring the kiddies for a good time. Picking pumpkins, getting on the jump house slides, and going to the petting zoo...most importantly picking that Great pumpkin to carve out that wicked Jack-o-lantern for Halloween or to make a pie for thanksgiving. This is a small but very nice pumpkin patch. I have come here for 3 years using Groupon and I find it to be worth the drive. They have jumpers to wear your kids out, a petting zoo and pony rides. My kids (4 and 8) enjoyed all of them and would bounce between the activities. We were here about 2 hours. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Parking is free. Met here with a bunch of Moms on a Tuesday morning. W had the place almost to our selves the whole time we were there. For $15 the kids could jump and slide as much as they wanted on the four bouncy houses and slides. The lady who runs the petting zoo was especially accommodating and negotiated a group rate with us. Kids Loved it and the animals seemed well trained and very patient! Only reason the place doesn't get 5 stars from me is because it's small and in a parking lot. Not the nicest location. read more

The quality of the pumpkins is one the reasons Ill buy from this place again. Stores don't have the same quality that's for sure. Sweetest animals, largest slides and themed activity bounce houses, great pony rides, a large variety of everything including animals to pet and pumpkins to choose from. Also I noticed hay stacks everywhere you can buy them too. We like to decorate so they have a variety of scarier looking pumpkins to buy too it makes jacklanterns exciting. Friendly employees. Some wagons there to put your pumpkins in. Large area for parents to sit in watching their kids play, they had a clown making balloons that day which was fun. It cost us $15 for entire day of the play area unlimited wristband. The petting zoo costs only $5 the pony rides only $7 this place is definitely affordable. They have music playing And when the kids are done playing they have sanitary stations and bathrooms out in the front area. It was also free to take your own photos & great photo spots in there, And it's free to get in this place whereas other places do charge which I didn't like other places charging us. And much more. This is a nice pumpkin patch and under normal circumstances i would give this place 4 stars but i am reviewing it for parents with special needs children. i wouldn't recommend this place for handicapped individuals who are wheelchair bound.
