I loves me a great antique mall, but this isn't one of them. It's good, but not great. You do have to check your bags with the clerks, but I didn't mind. It's loaded up with lots of old household items, jewelry, and your everyday antique mall junk. It's a nice place, but really tight. It has a very nice book section and a very cool booth filled with TV and movie memorabilia that state that they come with COA's. I did, however, find the coolest booth filled with Franciscan Starburst dinnerware. I know, right??? I enjoyed my time there. It's definitely worth checking out. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The owner Suzy is rude to the customers and the store is disorganized and dirty. Shocking for the Pasadena area, that is usually so nice. Im an avid antique shopper so I was disappointed to discover that the inventory at this location is always similar each time I go in. Nothing new and the place gets dirtier each time I go. The Pasadena Antique Mall has become my go-to place to get unique gifts. I figure it's better to get something more one-of-a-kind, rather than some mass produced item. The prices vary, but if you hunt around, you can find great items for under $50. I WOULD give this place a full 5 stars, however, I didn't like the "covid check" at the front door which consisted of many questions and even a breathing test. Overzealous much? At first glace they had some great stuff, many things were priced above fair, but it was not without expectation. I found a few things I was going to purchase, but after witnessing my friends experience, I chose NOT to buy anything from them, no matter how great I thought the items were. I walked out of there very disappointed in their customer service. We were super excited to to check this place out. My friend, who is a collect of antique books found a few that she had been looking for and stood in front of the desk to check out for a good 10 min before anyone came up to us to ask if we needed help. We said we wanted to check out. Then we made eye contact with the cashier he looked at us and bold faced looked at the customer next to us and decided to take them first. They were BROWSING.. we were ready to buy. After about 20 more mintues of waiting, I sat down in a chair in front of the register. The guy apologized to us for the wait and said he would be right with us. In the mean time, he had helped 2 more customers over us!!!! 40 minutes later, we were finally helped and out the door. Never again will I visit this establishment even to browse. Like I said, it had some great stuff. Antiques aren't my thing. But I've been dragged into so many antique malls that after browsing through this entire store I can fairly compare it to many other places I've visited. The stuff sold here seems to run the range from truly antique to not-that-old-but-collectible. And there is some junk that isn't that old and not collectible. The layout is similar to other antique malls - a variety of spaces where different vendors display what they have for sale. When I visited there was a large space selling books and quite a number of stalls selling jewelry and dishes. Another stall was selling movie memorabilia and another Tommy Bahama shirts. You might see old pipe collections or an assortment of vintage letter openers or vinyl jazz records from the 50s. You don't know what sort of stuff you'll find so if you're into antiques this is definitely a place you'll want to stop in and have a look around. read more

This might just be the cleanest, most comprehensive, and best-organized antique mall I've experienced, and I've experienced more than my share of antique malls! The various sections are neat and well-defined, which shows that the individual vendors devote time to maintaining their spaces. Best of all, it was affordable. There were so many fantastic items within my price point (which is LOW) that I had a difficult time controlling myself and culling my finds. It became more an issue of "Do I have space for this?" than "Should I spend on this?" In the end, I scored some great Pyrex pieces that I know from experience were very reasonably priced. I also snapped up some vintage ViewMaster reels in pristine condition, including the original sleeves and accompanying booklets, the latter of which I have never seen in an antique store (they always seem to end up separated from the reels). The "entertainment" nook where I found the reels was extra-fun, with life-size celebrity cut-outs and lots of movie and pop culture memorabilia. This would be a great spot for affordable gift shopping for that person in your life who has everything. Ahh my heart . I've been to the Antique mall a couple times and I honestly love it. It's located in the little Paseo Colorado center (I think that's its name) They have an interesting art collection, tons of great, old records, books, furniture etc. It's a large shop so naturally there are people working there who roam around making sure everyone's helped and there was a person who I believe may own the store that was friendly and happy to help. My friend and I came here after having a quick bite at Great Maple just a few steps away in the plaza. He'd never been and I wanted to show him how cool it was. While I was walking around there was someone who I believe to be the owners child (teen) who was following me around the store, almost determined to catch me stealing something. When I turned a corner the person was literally hot on my heels trying to not lose sight of me until they realized my friend was around the corner and then quickly put their head down and rushed away. I'd later see them standing behind the counter with the possible owner. What a disappointing experience and a cruddy feeling, as I was truly here to enjoy their unique collection, especially the books and I was immediately snapped back into the reality of how other people view me based on my appearance. I do understand the person was young and probably trying to be helpful to their parent or whoever BUT even still, what a great opportunity to learn a lesson in empathy, humanity & NOT PROFILING YOUR CUSTOMERS. read more

This one star review is not for the whole store, rather it is for Booth 4, where I was absolutely appalled to see a plethora of Nazi "memorabilia", including 1940's era Jewish stars, concentration camp armbands, swastikas in every shape and size, as well as KKK artifacts. What's especially galling is that they are kept right out in the open, with no "adults only" warning. Right next to the Disney toys and Howdy Doody cups. I don't know how anyone can sleep at night profiting from selling this material, and the "for historical purposes only" disclaimer is laughable. A great place to spend some time discovering treasures! I almost never leave empty handed.

One man's trash is another's treasure or so the saying goes. This antique mall is quite large with mostly books and knickknacks. They have a small section of clothing and lots of movie memorabilia. Items are on the higher priced end of antique shopping but I think that's because they are sold on consignment. There was this amazing Creole cookbook that I can't stop thinking about. I didn't buy it because I really don't like owning/ messing with other People's Property ( Never been down with OPP my parents raised me right) so I passed on the book but it was really a cool, rare find. This place is huge and very fun to explore. Not only are there many sections to wander around, there are also small rooms tucked away in some of the halls. It's easy to kill hours in there just looking at all the trinkets and historical items. There were scores of modern to really old books, period clothes, toys, art, records, collectibles, accessories, knick knacks and much much more. Additionally, they had rare items from popular movies/shows in the past such as Titanic and Pirates of the Caribbean amongst others. Although, I have to admit some of the items/rooms spooked me such as the small room with the wedding gowns and clothes and the one with the raggedy Ann dolls. Did not really spend much time/go into those rooms.... This means that some of the prices are fair, some are great deals, and some are just crazy high. There is no rhyme or reason to how the store is laid out, with the exception of the books - those are all in one place and divided by topic. Cool little antique spot, especially if you're into movie memorabilia. Not only do they have a variety of set props, jewelry and costumes for sale, they're all guaranteed by the vendor that they're 100% real and come with a certificate of authenticity. Though some of the stuff was out of my price range, I did consider paying $90 for a shot glass used in the movie Casino... Totally worth it, right? They have a ton of books, records and household items as well as some cool old projectors and cameras for those people into old film stuff. I also saw a nice variety of retro toys and action figures still in the package that caught my interest, but decided to pass this time around since I had just bought a bunch of horror themed trinkets from ScareLA across the street. The store was nicely organized and there were plenty of people around to help if you had any questions. Because each spot it operated by a different person, there's a wide range of things you can find, so I heard new stuff comes in on the regular depending on what said vendors find/decide to sell. With the exception of a few antiques, this place should definitely be called something closer to a vintage shop (I'd say thrift store, but nothing in this place is quite 'thrifty'). The Pasadena Antique Mall is definitely a great way to kill a few hours while in the Paseo part of Pasadena. From the outside it looks small, and unassuming, but once you go inside, it's a labyrinth of rooms, and different sections filled with amazing goodies! I couldn't contain myself with excitement, much to the chagrin of the two people working there who weren't too happy with me. There was so much I wanted to buy, yet Grad school is fast approaching and I needed to save as much as I could. I did manage to leave with an excellent, little veiled hat to top off my She-rlock Holmes costume (haha!) The two qualms I have about returning to this antique mall are the prices and the service. The man working here was downright rude. I didn't know if it was intentional, or the fact that he was having a bad day, I was so taken aback by is blatant and mean candor! As others have said, this place is less of an "antique" shop and more of a chachkies shop with random odds and ends. The store itself is fun to wander through, and occasionally you'll find a fun treasure that's reasonably priced. But 99% of the items in the store are unimaginably overpriced. Don't expect to find anything worth buying within a reasonable price, and you won't leave disappointed. The staff follows the same rules as the quality of merchandise in the shop. 99% of the time the staff is incredibly rude and condescending. The 1% of staff that are pleasant tend to be under the age of 25. These staff members are almost always helpful and polite and won't treat you poorly, so if you need assistance, try to get one of them to help. There is an older man that you should steer clear of 100% of the time. He's clean shaven, tall, skinny, with short gray hair. On one occasion he asked for my ID to complete a credit card purchase. I was using my husbands card (who happened to be standing next to me) so I handed him my husbands ID. This older staff member looked at the ID, threw it across his able at me stating, "this doesn't look like you." And went to put the item I was attempting to purchase away. I had to raise my voice in order for him to acknowledge the fact that the Owner of the ID was standing next to me, and it was intact his credit card in his hand. With no acknowledgment of his rudeness he processed the transaction as if I had done something wrong. It's also worth mentioning that you can not purchase anything in the store with a card if it's less than $10. The only signage mentioning this is hidden at the register, and it states "$10 minimum charge on credit cards." Apparently this also means debit cards. You can not buy anything under $10 with any kind of plastic card. If you don't reach this minimum, the staff is more than happy to point out any number of cheap pieces of chachkie crap located on the table/register for you to buy that can bring you to the $10 minimum. Moral of the story: expect to be disappointed. read more

I LOVE WALKING THROUGH THIS PLACE! It has almost become a routine now because the husband and I come to Paseo to eat and walk around the antique mall. There are some amazing items in here and I wish I had a house, and a wallet, big enough to buy everything! On my most recent visit, it was destiny that I purchased a kitty teapot that I passed over a while ago. This teapot is special because it was made by Takahashi, San Francisco which was a huge maker, and importer, of ceramics post WWII. The real reason I bought is that I recently got married and my maiden name is Takahashi and I am the mother of all cats. So, needless to say, it had to be mine. I bought a book from Joel's stand that turned out to have a split spine at the title page (my bad for not catching that). I went to return or exchange it the next day - a busy Saturday afternoon - and brought my receipt. There were only young kids at the desk - no managers - who told me that I needed the written receipt as well as the electronic print-out (I had not gotten one). I told them that THEY had a copy of that. They looked through their records, eventually found it, saw the name of the book I'd returned, but said it had been filled out incorrectly (is that my problem?). All the while, two kids were frantically calling various higher-ups, none of whom answered. They explained that they didn't have the power to do anything on their own, at which point I started to get impatient. So the kid who was doing the work (Nicolai) got more and more flustered. Eventually (maybe 15-20 minutes?) he got through to someone, listened, and then relayed to me that he would neither return the money nor exchange the book, triumphantly pointing to the bottom of the written receipt (which I didn't have), reading "ALL SALES FINAL." I couldn't believe it. They'd sold a defective book, and were refusing to either refund or exchange it. In a lifetime of book-buying, used or new, this has NEVER happened to me. How about you? I just shoved the book across the counter, told him he could keep it, cussed him out (yes I did), and walked out. I will not be back, even though I have bought books there before. Putting young kids in charge of the mall, while not giving them the authority to address obvious screw-ups (in this case, a book's broken spine), is unfair both to them and the mall's clientele. But then telling the customer that they have to eat the error is cynical and corrupt. You may find "treasures" there - I hope you do - but that won't change the facts that they are badly managed, unprofessional, and deeply unfair. A good standby for anyone who likes antiques. I visit here often and appreciate the diverse items on display and find the prices reasonable. It's a nice location and they sometimes have appraisers available. The one drawback which happens to be a pet peeve of mine is that they are a bit over the top with security. They'll ask you to check your bags including purses and I'm often monitored while strolling the store. I'll put it this way, I've never been asked if I needed assistance but I have been followed and watched closely almost every visit. My son and I love this place! There is always something new and unique - my son loves the old tech and I love, well, just about everything. They have a bunch of different sellers that have space here so there is something for everyone. Not everything is an antique, which is fine. This antique spot lives up to the term "mall". From the outside, I was expecting a tiny little shop. Oh no. This place is gigantic. I stopped by during a lunch break at work, but quickly realized that to cover this place the way it should be covered (slowly and surely), you would need to allot a decent period of time (an hour at the very least). Every inch of this place is filled with something. There's some rhyme and reason to it, but not much. Pretty wide range of finds, and I can only assume that the stock will vary from trip to trip. A tad bit on the pricy side for a lot of the items, but if you poke around enough you're sure to find something reasonably priced and awesome. Staff is very sweet. Parking is easy and they validate. This place is a fun place to wander around for awhile, but that's about it. It's overpriced, and I didn't see many actual antiques. A book printed in 1995 is not an antique. A Dirk Nowitzski basketball card is not an antique. A record from the 1980s is not an antique. Most of the stuff here is just used junk, though a lot of it is pretty cool. Prices are not very tempting. The books were far too expensive for relatively recent editions. And I don't care how hard to find a record is; it has to also be in high demand to justify charging $10+. I don't care how good the condition is; a normal record store wouldn't charge that much for a Greg Lake solo album from the 1980s. Go here to find some cool stuff.
