I cannot express how thrilled we were with their services, professionalism, and overall energy! From the moment we contacted them, it was clear that we were in capable hands and what they created for our special evening was absolute MAGIC! Jamie and Eric went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding décor was nothing short of spectacular. We wanted to create a unique and cozy atmosphere, while providing additional seating for our guests and they delivered in spades. Two months advance, Jamie presented us with multiple seating arrangement options with various couches, pillows, and additional decor to supplement each space. Their selection of couches, chairs, rugs, and custom decor was extensive. Every piece was handpicked to fit the vibe of our event. We were able to provide feedback and then together landed on how each area would look and feel, and finalized each item from their inventory. What truly stood out was the level of customization they offered. They took the time to understand our vision and provided multiple options that aligned with it. Even more impressively, White Rabbit provided us with gorgeous, custom signs for the entire event. Knowing our color scheme and decor direction, Jamie took the initiative to design signage and frame everything so it was wedding day ready! On the day of our wedding, the delivery and set up was absolutely seamless. I didn't have to worry about anything. When we finally saw everything set up, we were in awe. The décor completely transformed our venue (a family ranch property in Auburn, CA) into a dreamy, romantic space that left our guests raving about it. It was more than we ever could have imagined. I can't thank Jamie and Eric enough for their incredible service, attention to detail, and their ability to turn our wedding into a truly memorable experience. They were transparent and upfront about costs, which made the planning process smooth. Timely and trustworthy on the day of the event. Quick and efficient on the day of clean up. An absolute dream. If you're looking for a rental company that takes the stress out of event planning and leaves you thinking "Wow, that was so easy!", look no further. They are the cream of the crop. An absolute pleasure to work with, and I truly look forward to using their services again in the future.

In the world of party rentals, we found there were many others who would gouge for transportation fees or have enormous minimums that smaller parties cannot afford. We were able to do our event between $500 - $1000 and have the furniture and additions needed to make it look like the 1890s London space we were looking for. During the process, they recommended extra items and also advised against pieces that didn't fit with our theme. I really appreciated how ethical they were and how trustworthy. They came to deliver our items at the appointed date and time on the weekend and picked up the next day. And what's even better? They put them exactly where we needed them! Another local company (won't mention the name) brought the other items hours late and dumped them at the base of our driveway. The difference between White Rabbit and the other Santa Cruz company were astounding, and not in a good way. I highly recommend White Rabbit and no, I was not paid to leave this rating. I'm just that impressed with how wonderful they made my husband's 60th birthday.

We were aiming for an exciting, colorful city nightclub-like environment, maybe even black-lighting on the dance floor. But HOW could it happen? We chased down DIY and professional service options--but they were all either paltry or too pricey. At last, a friend told us to check out Legend Theatrical in Scotts Valley. From our first conversation with them--and then all the way through their design, installation and teardown of the black lighted dance floor and colorful uplighting along the walls--Dave and his team were true pros. The truth about Legend Theatrical is that they're very creative, responsive and well-priced--and produce magical results. Guests entering our party were so wowed by the lighting, they instantly began grinning, shouting, and making dance moves--even without without any dance playing yet. Magical!

I had DJ Joey dj my wedding and could not have been more disappointed…read more For starters I should have known to verify things after he tried to tell us there was no "clean" version of our grand entrance song and we may want to change it. I was pretty set on this song so I researched for myself and was able to find the clean version on 3 different platforms in about 60 seconds. Another thing is that I have never heard of a DJ who doesn't take requests... I guess we are supposed to know every song our guests are going to want to listen to beforehand. He was unable to take a request for a song that a lot of our guests wanted to hear. The biggest problem of the night was that he played the wrong song for my father daughter dance. We put the very title of the song and what version on the document we shared with him and even had a meeting to go over all of it. If there were ever any doubts he should have reached out to confirm he had the right song and clarify. I really hope this isn't a thing that has happened to a lot of couples he's DJ'd for because it absolutely ruined the moment. That was one of the moments I was looking forward to most because the song had a lot of meaning being that it was my stepfather I was dancing with. He seemed to be more worried about other things like asking us and all of our vendors if we would have an umbrella for him at ceremony even after we already told him we would take care of it. He also kept saying how he would be like "our second wedding planner" and tried to interject himself into things that did not pertain to him. He should probably focus more on making sure he does the DJ part right. Overall I was very disappointed with the experience and would not recommend him. He didn't even have the curtesy to apologize to me after my husband let him know he played the wrong song.

Mary Lou helps out with the preproduction and makes sure that you have stuff that you may have forgot to ask for. That may include things like XLR snakes, and audio breakout boxes for the stage. Here's my story: The 50th anniversary pride event downtown had three stages and the stage I was operating was in a location where bands have never been setup before Getting everything up in the open like that had many challenges. It took months of planning and Mary Lou was there for a good portion of that always answering questions and making great suggestions. I love working with independent businesses like Santa Cruz sound and I would certainly rent microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, and power conditioning devices from her next time I am in charge of an out door event.

I prefer a face to face deal when it comes to a significant electronics purchase, so I don't mind paying a LITTLE extra. I meet the owner (Marylou) and give her a copy of my latest DVD to share with her grandkids. I know I may need a little more attention than some of her customers as I'm totally naive when it comes to picking the best pro audio equipment for the job. I'm searching for a battery powered amp that I can use for both busking and school shows. (I need to amplify an iPod and a wireless mic) I research the internet and arrive at a few possibilities, Crate Limo 50w (Rechargeable battery, company was bought out, crappy support, but Magicians love the effects so it's great till you whack the knobs and crack the circuit board), Roland Cubes have effects but small woofer and eats up AA's, then there is the brand Marylou carries, called Traynor (it's a rechargeable too but has no effects). I opt for the Traynor 50w. She tells me that the 15w has much better tone than the 50w. (She has no 50w in stock) I'm thinking "What the hell has tone got to do with wattage?" (First warning sign) I decided to try it with my iPod in the store and it seems loud enough. I have a $500 DPA headset mic with a Sennheiser wireless and I could get within 6 ft. of the speaker before I got feedback. She had several other customers and I didn't push the volume all the way up. (Out of courtesy for the other customers) Her price is $40 above the internet price. She says, "They haven't raised their prices yet, but her wholesale cost had just been raised, so she's sure everybody else will raise their prices too." (Warning #2 This has nothing to do with the fact that I can still get it online for $40 cheaper.) I had a very old Tapco amp that had blown out the left channel and I was told that I could get something much lighter with a warranty for about what I would spend on repairs. (Probably true) She offers me $40 for the amp's road case and "recycles" ? the amp. I buy the 15w Traynor and when I get it home, I get nothing but squealing pig (feedback) when I am in the same room with the amp. I can't possibly get the mic to talk over the iPod music and be anywhere near the amp. I call Marylou and she says she has very good results with Audio-Technica mics, maybe I should try one of those. (Upsell?) I happened to have a producer buddy that had one for sale (used twice, it was about a $600 package for mic and transmitter/receiver). He gave it to me for $200. I got a little more volume out of it, but it still squealed like a pig. I take it all to Maryann, hook it up and ask what I'm doing wrong, she fiddles with the AF and RF of the wireless system and then says, "Maybe you should try this!" (She brings out the Madonna-style headset with a super cardioid mic and everything works great! You could almost stick your head completely in the speaker before it would feedback.) My question is this: This mic is under $100, is this the reason it was never suggested in the first place? Shouldn't the owner (who's also the floor salesperson) of a pro audio store know that I was going to have problems with an omni-directional mic when performing in FRONT of my speaker? At this point I'm totally broke, remember I'm trying to buy busking gear so I could hustle money off the street. She offers me $175 for the mic I just bought, I have to take it. (In hindsight, I think she only suggested the A-T mic thinking I would buy it from her.) I take the money and find a new Sennheiser super cardiod on eBay for $100 it shows up and works great! One problem, now that the squealing pig has left the building and I can actually talk over the music, when everything is mixed well, there's not enough punch to control 200 screaming kids. We're right back at square one. (Remember when I asked for the 50w version?) She said I had the system too long to refund. (this dance lasted about 10 weeks) I was advised to sell it on Craigslist and told that I could get more for it there than she could give me. I told her I put her in a place of trust, that I thought I should be able to draw on her experience as a pro audio shop owner and be guided to the right equipment for the job. She ended up with $200, my amp, road case, and a like new mic (for less than wholesale). I paid $25 to sample the mic, traded in my old amp, did my own R&D, and still got stuck with an insufficient system. I finally lost it and told her, "Look, I spent all this f*#^in' time and money, you end up with all this gear, and I still don't have a system that will do the job!" She said, "All this money? Well, I'm so sorry I've failed you!" When I met her, my gut told me, "I bet this ol' pot-head would say anything to make a sale!" I always pay when I don't listen to my gut!
