The rumor of the filing of chapter 11 seems true. The shelves are stocked enough, and the staff is accommodating and friendly. I was particularly impressed. with the staff member from South Africa, who really helped me to try and find things I needed. Unfortunately, I was disappointed that they did not have a specific pride section. Instead, referring to it as a rainbow section. Bad move to be that "politically correct in the 2020s." TIP FOR MANAGEMENT: Give people ideas; set up a section that's driven by theme or color, including pride. Individual pieces are available in all the colors of the pride flag, but help people out by putting them together for them and don't be so afraid to celebrate our diversity. read more

Beware of going to the Wappingers Falls Party City location. I recently visited the WF's Party City location in June 2021 with my teenager 17yr old daughter, the day before my daughters High School Prom to look for items for my daughters HS Prom & Grad and we were targeted, discriminated against and a false allegation was made against us. Besides prior to the false allegation and the Police being called we interacted with employees which seemed annoyed for us asking for assistance and also being told that they don't carry products which I knew they carried and later was amazed to have found on my own by browsing. Then the POLICE were called and lied to saying HISPANIC female & BLACK female were seen stealing and stuffing items in personal and shopping bags. This was far from the truth and should not be easily dismissed. Employees should be held accountable for their LIES and DISCRIMINATION. Calling the Police should be taken seriously and NOT be used for False Allegations or Personal Discriminations against other people!!! Party City employees lied first by telling the Police on the phone that we(my daughter & I) were stealing and they had witnessed it, then after the Police arrived and asked the Party City employees questions, Party City employees story changed to "they look suspicious". There was nothing to celebrate as this Brought my 17yr old daughter to tears and the end result was Party City employees making us "the customers" feel as though we did something wrong just for shopping and it was stated several times regardless that "we look suspicious". We were forced to shop elsewhere. A truly disgusting shopping experience at WF's Party City which was traumatic and triggered Anxiety, PTSD and also threatened the privacy of a minor, my privacy as well as the privacy of my other children by having a false accusation report of shoplifting written up with our personal information which is a threat to our character, our lives and our safety. Even though the Police investigation determined No Crime Was Committed a report still was written up that was unnecessary, a waste of Police time and jeopardizes other peoples lives. Beware of employee Jen who seemed to have orchestrated the whole ordeal, and encouraged and convinced other employees to partake in the discrimination, and employee Rachel who spread hearsay from Jen to the Police and as well as nodded her head whenever Jen spoke. Party City is supposed to be a store you shop at when celebrating special occasions and instead the Wappingers Falls location was not celebrating anything but hate & discrimination. Thankfully the WF's Police were very calm and quickly sifted through the lies of Party City employees but still this type of experience should Not have happened at all and is very concerning. read more

What a nightmare !!!!! I placed an order for balloons that were part of the decorations for my son and his fiancés engagement party. At the store I personally picked and counted the balloons that were needed and watched as they were placed in my orders zip lock bag. This being said I'm not quite sure why such a mess up. My sons dad was at the store at 11:25 as the order was to be ready at 11:30. Yeah no. He was rudely informed by the boy behind the counter that they hadn't even started them yet and he would have to come back. It was 12:15 before they were ready. The balloons were placed in plastic bags so you couldn't see what was in them but being that they were 45 minutes late in being ready he rushed out of the store to get to the venue only to find when he arrived that we were 4 balloons short and of the 26 that we did get 2 of them were a color that wasn't even in the orders zip lock bag. Several of the balloons were barely blown up and were 1/2 the size they should've been and were not usable. I also paid additional money to have a spray of some kind on them so they would last more than 3 or 4 hours. What a mess. It left a runny residue on the balloons and they looked horrible. Being that they were late in being ready we did not have time to travel back and forth the 20 minutes to the store to get what we needed so we were only able to use 2 balloons not the 3 as planned and paid for at the 10 guest tables (and they didn't even all match) as 10 balloons were not usable. This is absolutely unacceptable especially when I paid around $50 for 30 balloons. AND BEST OF ALL.....WHEN YOU CALL AND ASK TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER TO MAKE A COMPLAINT AND ASK HOW YOU GO ABOUT GETTING A REFUND YOU GET CALLED A LIAR AND ARE GIVEN NOTHING BUT AN ATTITUDE. read more

Party City? More like Party SHITTY... rolled through this spot last Friday around 9:30 with a couple of my closest fellas looking to turn the hell up and to our dismay this place was DEAD. Yeah, I don't know who taught the people here how to party, but I'm guessing it was a bunch of nerds (and not the cool kind) LOL. This place should change its name or maybe just shut down, because this is false advertising. And hey, next time you refuse to serve someone because they're "disturbing your guests," maybe don't call the cops on them for bringing their own alcohol in. I paid for helium balloons for a party for my daughter. I work and have kids so time is non existent. I got a huge runaround and was never reimbursed after talking to six different people when they apparently ran out of helium. I have spent three days trying to get my money back. If they are stealing from me who knows what else is going on..they're probably cooking their books. Stay away from this place! read more

Went to pick up balloons. The woman at the counter doesn't even look at me but says, "He can help you over there." Nice teenage boy helped me at the counter. My order wasn't ready on time. No apology. The woman was short and curt with me the entire time I was there as if I was inconveniencing her. She says she will make them now. She hands me the balloons. I told her I had purchased a bag for the balloons. She tells me she needs to see my receipt and then inspects it and holds her hand out for the balloons. She places them in the bag and hands it back. No eye contact the entire time. At this time I noted the strings were all the wrong color but I decide not to say anything because I felt awkward and unwelcome. I have been going to Party City for years for all my party supplies. I got married recently and had to make multiple trips to pick up last minute things and there seemed to be no staff around anytime I needed help. I had called ahead one morning to check and see if they had a specific item and they assured me that they had plenty. My friend and I went and asked for help finding the item and the lady (Tammy) took one look at the shelf and said they did not have it. Didn't even bother to look anywhere else. When I explained that I had called earlier, Tammy informed me that I was wrong and gave me a huge attitude. I decided to go online and order the items through the app. Never once did Tammy actually look for the item. I watched her do absolutly nothing. Turns out they did have the item and all they had to do was look! I was mortified with the absolute lack of service and the rude and harsh way Tammy spoke to me and my friend. Today I went shopping for candy. I took a look around and found what I thought I wanted but, shortly after I realized I wanted serving different. I asked an employee where I could find some Sour Punch Straws and he said "you can go fuck yourself" under his breath. Awful place to go shopping. Very poor customer service. I really had a great shopping experience, so much so, that I decided to write a review, which I never done before. The staff were absolutely helpful. I had a long list of things I needed and had only an hour to get them. One of the employees especially helped me a great deal, she helped me locate the items I needed and gave me great ideas for my party. She was very polite and professional, and Party City are fortunate to have her as an employee. After leaving the store, my parents and I couldn't stop talking about how helpful she was. By the way, I didn't realize the time and the store was about to close {Monday hours are till 8:30pm}, and never once did the staff push me out the door or mention to hurry up. They were great. I'm updating my old review. This store has the most unprofessional people I have met! I'm shopping for my child's birthday supplies when I start to hear the coworkers saying the F word. They said this word three times! These two young gentlemen are putting in shelves/ hanging hooks and getting angry, they couldn't get whatever they were doing to fit. Then one of them starts to get very frustrated so much and shakes the hole aisle of decorations next to me! I got nervous and thought it was going to collapse on me! He is banging away and saying the F word. If I was with my kids, I for sure would have went up to them and it would not have been good. I actually can't believe they would use those words in front of anyone! I mean come on it's party city!!Next I go pay and the cashier, even though his job is simple .. .. he looks confused ringing me up! Instead of bagging as he goes along ringing my stuff up, like most cashiers would do! He just lets it pile up has a mountain! So I'm handing him each item one at a time. He was getting confused which item he rang up already and which he didn't! I found what I was looking for was the only positive thing about the store! Also I was not about to ask these guys to get down a piñata for me! I found another employee .. a women and asked her if she or someone can please help me get down. She was hanging a few things up, she had in her hand and She didn't even look up at me when I was talking. Like I was a bothersome to her!! But she did get it down. This is the second bad experience I had with the co workers. I'm done with this store unless management changes. read more
