I had no idea this Party City was even here. I thought the only one in the area was the Norfolk location when the one near Target at Landstown closed years ago... I stopped in for a few Gender Reveal party items and to purchase a balloon bouquet. The staff were helpful and made picking out the balloons easy. I found the other party items I needed (cups, napkins, pins, and some cute decor) and said I'd be back to pick up the balloons in about half an hour or so. They were ready when I arrived and looked adorable. They have something for every single occasion in this store and it's a great one stop shop for party items and balloons. It looked a bit empty but maybe that's bc of Halloween - easy in and out with a traffic light on busy VA Beach Blvd so that helps. I'll def. come here again. read more

This location is decent. Since the move, I have only frequented this location a handful of times. Every time I visit they have what I need. This location is super convenient and parking isn't too bad either. The line can sometimes be super slow, but I believe the employees do their best to move the line as fast they can. I do not believe this location has a clearance section, if so, I haven't found it. But other locations do, so keep your eyes open for that. You just may find something you didn't even know you needed or wanted :) Check them out if you are in the area. Other shopping is nearby such as: Food Lion, Dollar Tree and Burlington. I have been a Party City customer for a long time. However this is a newer location that's very convenient to my house. Find them in the Birchwood Mall off Virginia Beach Blvd. They built the building to suit their needs a few years ago. The store is beside Burlington Coat Factory. The store is massive and contains everything you would need to celebrate and entertain. Balloons are a very large part of their business and they have a huge selection. My most recent was a pick up of graduation balloons for my son. They looked great! The prices tilt up for these items but we have splurged on special occasions. When getting the balloons home I noticed the top large ballon was beginning to deflate. With only an hour before departure to graduation no time to replace. I made a quick call to Party City and they said bring receipt on for a refund. A few days later I returned and the manager remembered the call and refunded 100% and apologized. I never asked for a full refund as the other two balloons remained inflated. Great customer service and I will return. read more

Rude customer service- wrong color balloons were blown up. They tried to make me pay for it and also the color I actually ordered. Said they would "let it slide" and give me my correct color this time although the cashier is the one that made a mistake. I'll be driving further to another location from now on or going to Kroger. read more

The store is very spacious and organized. I was easily able to find what I needed for my son's Pokémon themed birthday party. This time of the year appears to be very busy for party city as it is currently graduation season. I expected my wait for my balloon order to take a little longer than normal. Next time, I'll opt for the pickup option. When I put my ballon bouquet in my car, 2 popped (possibly due to the heat) and then I noticed one of the balloons I paid for was not included. Since I was in a rush, I didn't have time to go back in for it. Later, a friend suggested I ask for a bag to cover my balloons to prevent them from popping. I kinda wish someone who worked there would have suggested that but apparently you have to ask for this. read more

This is the closest party store to my house. I was told to come in to order balloons the day before my event "because we don't always get online orders through to the store". I walked in and since there were no cashiers, I went to the balloon desk right next to the registers. No acknowledgment or greeting as I walked in. I waited behind two other customers. There was only one employee up front. By the time it was my turn, I had waited 15 minutes and a line had grown to 6-7 people waiting to check out. So another employee shows up to work the registers with the balloon desk one not anywhere to be found. A third employee finally walks up and I advise I need to place a balloon order. She tells me I have to wait in line and do that at the register. I explained that I've been here for 20 minutes, no one was at the registers when I walked in so I went to wait with other customers at balloons, and now you are telling me to wait behind at least 6 other people with one cashier just to place an order? She was incredibly rude and glared at me and repeated that I had to go to a register. All of this could have been avoided there was a sign that simply said "Place balloon orders here" OR fix the online ordering feature. I waited in line for the register another 10 minutes without it moving so I walked out. Do yourself a favor and take a drive to Military Highway's Party City store. Very pleased with this location. As soon as you walk in you see the bright colors and neat organized shelves. It's a clean establishment. Staff has been friendly each time I have been. I just finished celebrating my daughters birthday and so I have made frequent trips here. Each time I have easily found what I needed. read more

A Sunday, early evening. I have not been here in many years. The first thing I see when I walk in is a man dressed in a caveman costume? The hairy thighs caught me off guard, but it worked with the costume and he had on a headset so I knew he was an employee. I later saw a female employee in a referee costume. I think that's kind of neat to have a few employees dressed in costume when kids and adults are likely shopping for Halloween costumes. The aisles are clearly marked, and the selection is fairly sufficient. Most prices seemed reasonable. Customer service: Very good. A friend asked me to check on the price of a particular number of balloons, I pose the question to the cashier, he plugged it in and gave me the exact price. read more

Horrible Customer Service! I was here on a Tuesday, the line was ridicoulously long, the cashiers were slow, and I didn't get greeted at the door or even talked to at the registers! Hard to believe? Let me explain, when I was finally ready to check out after waiting for 20 minutes in line, the cashier was carrying a conversation with the other cashier and neither of them were paying myself or the other gentlemen any attention. I showed her my military ID and recieved a discount after a quick glance, but no acknowledgement! CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME NEW EMPLOYEES OR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING AT THIS LOCATION? I really don't want to go into all of the details, but accept the fact for a moment that I NEEDED the following items: 1. Various colors of silly string 2. Glitter in solid colors NOT the same as the silly string 3. 3 large bottles of Soap Bubbles, the old school ones with the ring dipper thing built in 4. One Size Fits All White Boxer Shorts 5. A Bag of small balloons in solid colors 6. Freakishly large sunglasses (preferably green) Now for the best part: I NEEDED all of this within the hour. Of course, Party City to the rescue! And they were 6 for 6 on the above list, plus a few optional items that really added to the festivities. If it looks like a party, feels like a party, has party in the name, and involves more than one person, whatever you are looking for is probably here. And if not, they have this awesome selection of helium filled balloons up front. Pick one out, then go outside and suck the helium out and talk like Donald Duck for the next hour. The location is convenient right smack dab in the center of Virginia Beach, and next to a Farm Fresh and Cookie store, so you can pretty much outfit your entire party here. Yes, there is also a State Run ABC shop in the same complex. The absolute coolest part, though, is that they have a pretty decent stash of old school candy as well. This is a great store to get the basics for themed parties or events. I used to hit this place regularly for work, when I would through themed sales contests. Hawaiian, fiesta, sports, casino, 50s...they got ya covered. Everything is a good price, so you can get what you need even with a limited budget. As a baker and cake decorator, I hit Party City for Wilton supplies. They have cake boards and boxes as well as shaped pans and decorations and cake tools. At Halloween, this place is madness. You can find great costumes and accessories to make your costume more unique. I scored a leotard there last year for my Beyonce costume. read more

They have all their Halloween decorations out. a few were actually reasonably priced. The people were polite and busy working unpacking boxes. I was really happy to see they only had a couple of things set up for Thanksgiving, nice to know they didn't skip over this treat filled night. they didn't have as many costumes as I remember them having before, it has been a while since I've been here except to buy fog machines. read more

Came to this store for the location convenience, but this store didn't have anything. Worse of all the manager was rude and disrespectful in helping us find anything.
