These employees know the meaning of customer service. After a bad experience at the Virginia Beach store, I drove to Norfolk. As soon as I walked into the very clean and well lit store, I was greeted and offered assistance. I quickly picked out the balloons I wanted and placed an order to pick up the next day. Email communication was clear and I was notified when the order was ready. I walked in today, was greeted and even though they were very busy, they efficiently helped customers and gave me my order in a matter of minutes. Don't go to any other Party City store. My little one decided to go Halloween costume shopping and I Yelped for the nearest Party City...this location popped up. I was a bit hesitant since it only had 2 stars but it's only fair to give it a shot. We walked right in, straight to the costume wall where we could see all the costumes available. He was able to pick one out immediately and we were able to get right into a fitting room. They even had a table set up for the kiddies to color and make a trick or treat bag while they wait. Kudos Party City! The line was not that long and since we were not getting balloons it was able to get right at a cashier. Moral of the story: Do not judge a business by it's stars. Yes, Yelp is pretty spot on..but every so often you'll be proved wrong. Glad I was with this one! Great experience. read more

I love Party City. Where I grew up there weren't any chain speciality party stores like this that were open year-round with seasonal party supplies and halloween costumes and such. I love to browse the party colors isle where there is every rainbow color for your party with cups, table clothes, spoons, ladles, cutlery, etc. you name it in tons of colors. They have wedding invitations, tons of wedding items, kids themed party items and balloons on site that you can pick and they'll blow up there for you. During October this place turns into a Halloween HQ with walls of costume options. Prices are reasonable so no complaints from me! I'm used to being able to run in here and grab a quick and cheap party supply when I need it in a particular theme or color. It's a go-to place for me. read more

If you are having a party then Party City will probably have the decorations and party favors that you are looking for. They have different sections of the store like costumes, wigs, make-up, accessories etc. Then there are also sections of the store which are broken down into different party themes and/or decades. There's an aisle that has Vegas inspired decorations, rock star, princess, hippie, 'over the hill 'and tons more. This is always a fun place to browse around! read more

Party City has a nice selection of items for almost any party occasion. I said, almost..... I came yesterday looking for decoration for my friend, Sam's graduation party and they had none in stock. The customer service here is almost non-existent as it is hard to even find anyone that works there and when you do find them, they always seem annoyed. Most of the contents of the store are pretty over-priced, but hey, they do have a mostly good selection. I only go here when I don't have time to order on Amazon. read more

Today, the website says curbside is available at my location but now there is NO option! Extremely irritating. This Party City is the absolute worst. I came in the store, I wasn't greeted by anyone, the store wasn't really that busy, it smelled funny and I hope I never have to return to this location again. I didn't enjoy my experience here. I came in for paw patrol birthday GIRL decorations as seen online. I was told that they only sell the girl decorations online. I don't get it but okay whatever. So I asked if I could still receive my military discount (10%) if I ordered the items online in the computer provided for customers and they weren't very helpful. I just got a NO as they went on doing what they were doing. Irritated I just left and called corporate. I ended up placing my order on the phone with them as I had to look up sku numbers online at the same time. I received my 10% but then was told I had to pay shipping although if you order in the store then shipping is waived. I'm still not understanding why girls paw patrol items aren't sold in store but whatevvv. Employees should work on slightly improving their attitudes as well as knowledge about products carried. read more

Approached two ladies working the store, respectfully said hello. They stared at me and continued to converse with each other while looking at me, clearly aware of my presence. I asked them a question in trying to locate an item in the store, and was immediately YELLED at for "interrupting their conversation" and told that I "have no manners" and they could not believe how "rude" I was. Clearly I was mistaken in thinking they were at work to sell products. I could hear them continuing to speak about me as I walked away. I have never in my life been spoken to so rudely by a cashier. Was in a hurry and dropped in to pick up one item. Cashier took the 2 customers ahead of me. After watching the cashier and customer yack on their phones and take for every it wa my turn. A lady came walking around the other side of the line. Cashier informs me that is actually the front of the line and the lady would be next. I put down my item and walked out. My fiance and I went to Party City to buy Halloween costumes. I wound up getting a white Afro wig that's supposed to light up. How cool is that, I thought to myself. I also had to buy a wig cap and a set of fake eye lashes. When we got home, I was excited to try the wig on, only to be dismayed because the lights won't work. I called up the store in the hopes that I can talk to somebody and exchange it for something that actually works. The line was busy, so we drove back. At the store, we approached the cashier at counter #1. She was very rude towards us when we said we were going to return a merchandise. She said "We don't do returns on Halloween stuff." So we said we just got it an hour ago. Then she left to get her manager. The manager inspected the item and agreed to credit me back for the wig, but she won't take the wig cap that was UNOPENED. What will I do with a wig cap without a wig??? Anyway, we left and didn't feel like going to the party anymore. Party City spoils the party mood! We're never going back!!!
