After I explained I was being a tourist and checking out the area and the shops, the owner went back to her desk and put together a packet of information about the area, the businesses, and made some recommendations of places she thought I might like. It was a showing of some great and unexpected customer service. While browsing, I came across a piece of jewelry in a color I don't have or see often. She helped me find matching pieces, made a couple of other suggestions for complementary items - but didn't exert any pressure -- and all of that was available for a thrift store price.
