We live in Arizona so we pretty much got ahold of several catering companies in the Mount Vernon area via email. Avenue Catering responded fast and professional-they even have tastings of their food before you actually book them! It was a small fee but well worth it! My son and his bride decided on the menu and it was absolutely perfect! The caterers were to arrive at 2:30 that afternoon- showed up exactly on time, went right to work setting up and everything went off without a hitch! The salad, salmon, flank steak and potatoes were amazing- our guests absolutely raved about the menu! Cindy, who was our contact person was very nice and so was the rest of the staff. We would recommend this caterer in a second- Thank you Avenue Catering for everything!

I stumbled across Avenue Catering and was very impressed with Cindy and her team. She was responsive to my phone calls and emails, and followed through with everything she promised. Everything was cooked to perfection and the guests couldn't stop talking about how delicious everything was. They were reasonably priced, delivery was punctual and the team was professional and friendly. I will definitely hire Avenue Catering again for any future parties.

I wanted big, gorgeous arrangements my Mom would have loved. I came across Shamay's website and loved what was on there and decided to give her a shot. I gave Shamay very loose (aka bad) instructions and emailed her 3 pictures I found on Pinterest. Somehow she understood what I was getting at, asked me a few questions to make sure we were on the same page, and created flowers that were better than I had pictured in my head...which is not easy to do since I'm an overly picky person. The day of the memorial she arrived on time, took the time to set out and adjust the arrangements herself, and even added extra flowers she brought to make the tables look better. They looked so beautiful and a ton of guests commented on how wonderful the flowers were. Without any hesitation I would recommend Shamay for any event you need great flowers for. Beyond creating beautiful arrangements, I appreciated that she was understanding of where I was at emotionally and my scatteredness. She even texted me from her son's graduation the night before the memorial when I was having a freak-out moment about the flowers. Amazingly gorgeous flowers, and an incredibly sweet woman to boot - not sure what more a person could ask for!

They lost a lot of points because of no one on site in the middle of the night to deal with a noise problem. Two nights in a row we were awakened at 2 in the morning when the guest below us turned their TV on so loud that we could clearly hear the dialog of the show and commercials. This lasted until 5 in the morning when they turned it off. Sure, occasionally you'll run into an inconsiderate guest. The next night, the same thing happened. I finally had enough at 4 in the morning and went to find the room and complain. When I knocked and knocked, no answer. I asked a woman in the lobby if the room was hers and she finally said it was but refused to turn the TV down. I used the phone in the lobby to contact the manager for late check ins, yet it didn't connect me with anyone.
