This was the weekend of Memorial Day, so it's a little delayed, but it was their big Memorial Day…read moresale. We were shopping around for cars, and when we got there, right away, as we walked in, it was a madhouse: lots of people packed to the brim. We had already checked out the Nissan dealership there in Clairmont and others as well. We thought we'd give them a try.
As we walked in, we were greeted by this older Black gentleman who reeked of tuna fish while he was eating and chomping at the mouth, eating a sandwich. We said, "Hey, we'd like to see some cars." He then fires back saying, "Oh, you guys didn't do your research. We're doing business here. Hey, we're doing business here." Right away, I was turned off. Is that any way to treat a customer or potential customer? Mind you, I've been in sales for 20 years, and I run a sales team that covers the entire West Coast for high-end capital equipment ranging from $800,000 to $1 million per unit. He then points us over to another reception person to check us in, so we go to her and we say the same thing: "Hey, we're here to check out some cars." She said, "Oh, we're really, really busy here right now, so you need to put your name down, but honestly, we don't know when we can get to you."
Holy crap. Again, I understand being understaffed and busy, but don't make your customer feel like your time isn't valuable either. At that point, my girlfriend was extremely turned off. She really had her eyes set on Akia as well, with the sales they had.
Then we went back to where we were treated extremely well at the Nissan dealership there in Clairmont. We weren't rushed. They kept checking in on us to make sure that we were okay while we waited. They were extremely polite and courteous. Even though it wasn't as packed and the sales weren't as great, we found a great car with a great deal, so much that we decided to buy a second car from them.
Customer service is king. I don't want to give my money to pieces of shit. Sorry, Kia, specifically this dealership.
