Instead, the area to the left of the ramp now has lots of interesting stationery and other knick-knacks - notebooks, wrapping papers, local interest books, games and general 'stuff'. It's a good place to browse for that little stocking-filler present for somebody. The other side still carries a good selection of cards. Things have gotten busier now, and there's often a longer queue for the post office than there used to be. They do have a self-service machine, but I've always found it unreliable and seldom trust it to complete a transaction without something going wrong. It's worth keeping an eye on the shop counter while you're queuing for the post office, as they will often call you over if they're not too busy.

The shop/post office/cafe was quite busy which is great a new business. The gift shop section is packed full of gems like Nikki McWilliams cushions (you know the ones, they're shaped like biscuits), posh salted caramel marshmallows, sewing kits, notepads - so many beautiful Glasgow gifts. The shop is also full of interesting non-generic greetings cards. I spotted about 5 which I am planning to buy for people's birthdays. The gift shop adds an extra place in the West end to shop local. The cafe section is small but an welcome addition. We opted for a chemex for 2 as well as a slice of jaffa cake cheesecake to share. They get their cheesecake from The Artisan Cheesecake company based in Bathgate, which a firm favourite with a work colleague. The cheesecake was well worth it and was beautiful. However I would recommend sharing as it is really sweet. The coffee was delicious and I was so happy with our chemex as it meant I had more coffee to look forward to. I think I will definitely be heading here again for their coffee/cheesecake/shop/post office.

I, too, received excellent customer service here which helped make a fairly tricky task go a lot smoother than it would've done if I'd attempted it on my own. This post office offers every service you could wish for and also has a well equipped money exchange desk.

Good customer service can put a spring in the step of an otherwise drab day. Nothing cheers you up like being faced with a complete stranger who goes over and above their job requirements to be kind and helpful, simply because they want to make your day that bit easier. I was on the receiving end of such service last week, when I visited the post office on St Vincent Street to send a hideously stressful parcel of very important documents halfway across the world by parcel force priority. I was served by a man called Colin who was helpful and knowledgeable way beyond the call of duty, even though it was near closing time on a Friday. He made the situation much less stressful as a result. So Colin, I wish to thank you for taking pride in your job. Not being able to post my parcel, or doing it incorrectly, would have resulted in disastrous consequences. You can go to bed at night knowing you really have made a difference.

After amassing some postcards over the first approximately fourteen days of my heritage travel trip…read moreto Scotland in July 2019, I was looking for a place to buy stamps so I could mail them before departing a few days later. The Sandyford Post Office was located a couple of blocks from where I was staying, the Argyll Hotel, so I stopped by on a walk. Sure enough they had stamps, and at a good rate. Other services were available including shipping and mailing, but I was waiting until my last full day to mail them - so I just went with the stamps. They were pretty in purples and blues and were enough to get the cards to their destination.

After I questioned the price the guy told me that was the rate for all of the post offices in the area. Ended up charging me 10 pounds after pressuring me to pay by saying that he had already printed the pgs and I needed to pay. Anyways I checked the receipt and it only says 10 pounds withdrawal, and no mentioning about the services I got. I called the central office (customer service complaint) and they will be conducting an investigation in this location. Left a review on google and owner left a rude comment putting the blame on me for not checking the prices on the printer which by no chance it was visible and honestly this is not the rating for printing anywhere (it's usually a couple of cents). I spent hours with people on the phone today and theres no way that they could have charged me 22 pounds for basic printing services. Be careful out there everyone, even in difficult times like this there are people trying to scam. By no chance I thought this would have happened at the local post office.

I found this wee post office quite by chance, but I'm glad I did. It's a little bit out of the way,…read morebut handy if you're walking between George Square and Argyle Street (as I was). This is a typical combination post-office-cum-corner store deal, they sell cards, stationery, newspapers and small gifty things to distract you as you're waiting in the inevitable queue for the post office counters at the back. The staff seemed very cheery, even under the pressure of Christmas postings, and there was a good bit of banter going on between them, so it was difficult for anyone to get cross over the length of the queue. With all 5 counters on the go, things moved along pretty quickly anyway. Top tip - remember to go to the right when you enter as that's where the post office queue starts. It's difficult to see it behind the rack of cards and it is tempting to go down the left-hand side. But you'll be sorry if you do!

It isn't characterised by great customer service. It's somewhere between the wee sort of Post Office you get stuck onto a tobacconist up the back and an actual wee shop. I use it often enough through paranoia that my letters dont get where they're going with the new size/weight specification for letters, otherwise I doubt I would ever bother going.
