Great place! It's like two stores in one -- at least! Not only that, but I got (and I'm sure you can get, too!) a round-the-world tour through snacks! I was guided to see and have explained to me what so many things are, where they're from, given interesting information about many an item from many a place, and departed with bags of deliciousness! This store had so many things I didn't know I needed 'til I got there, such as a strobe-light-looking multi-coloured, shiny round glass with a straw .... I actually did know I needed this one particular item, had looked at such things online, but had never seen one in person until the magical night I showed up here! (It was the Fourth of July, by the way, so I also got to see fireworks coming from all directions while I drove home -- totally awesome!) The guidance I got (as in, world flavour tour with snacks!) was very friendly, even super-friendly, made me feel welcomed, and I got two varieties of potato chips from Lebanon, new-to-me dried fruit toffies, individually-wrapped thin dried fruit leather (that someone who saw me eating it thought was duct tape, ha ha!), and all kinds of other little goodies for here and there -- great for travelling! The only danger here is if you buy too much, it might throw off your car's steering or something -- thank goodness I have good suspension, ha ha! No, that won't happen for most of you -- I was just on a road trip at the time so my car was already overloaded ... but seriously, there is much tempting stuff to fill up some shopping bags in this place! (Speaking of bags, I bought a really nice one there, too!) This place is a really fun stop! It's also decorated with beautiful Turkish lamps you may notice if you look up or around enough .... First time here. It's a bit overwhelming when you first walk in. There's ALOT happening. One side is a Persian/Middle Eastern grocery the other is a fully stocked smoke shop. The salesperson behind the counter was very helpful. They have everything from grinders to hookah supplies to smoke eaters. Really one of the best shops around. I'm glad this place is open during this difficult time, because ya girl needs some shisha! It was Sunday, so I called prior to confirm they were open, which they were! They have a huge selection of shishas ranging from different brands such as Fumari, Starbuzz, Haze, Al Fakhar, etc. Only complaint is that the shisha bins are behind the counter and obviously customers aren't allowed. My eyes are terrible so I kept having to ask what each flavor was. Giving this place 4 starts because of the price point. I love this little shop. I have a large shopping list when I go here since it's 25 miles from my house- the closest Persian grocery store to Annapplis. And I have always found what I needed; fresh barbari bread, French Feta cheese, sour fruit roll ups, spices, pumpkin seeds, etc. Tgeir prices align with other stores and the staff are very professional and kind. THEN when I went in, I found awesome quality and fair prices. But as usual what made the difference is the service. Middle Eastern grocery stores are popping up in Columbia like crocuses in March. (Lord, I hope those crocus pop soon!) Pars Market opened last week on Snowden River Parkway in the same shopping center as Azul 17 and Nichi Bei Kai. This is a small store where the owner is still filling the shelves, but it -- like the Nazar Produce Market that opened on Oakland Park Blvd this month -- is already a resource for breads, spices, canned goods, and little treats like Turkish yogurt drinks and Iranian fruit rollups. For now, Pars has basic supplies to cook Middle Eastern food -- rice, lentils, bulgar wheat, spices, yogurt, etc. -- and an array of packaged items like pickles, grape leaves and even rose water. You can buy lavash and other breads, and there is a small refrigerated/frozen section. Check out the fruit rollups in the display by the counter. They're Iranian and quite delicious. Pars' owner seems really nice and enthusiastic. I picked up a bag of dried rose buds and brought them to the counter to ask what I would do with them. He said that he didn't know. So he called his sister on a cell phone, and we figured out together that they're used in teas and cooking for the rose aroma. He talked up the hookahs and peach tobacco, which I have to admit smelled delicious. read more

Super clean & well stocked. Mr Pars himself is quite nice. I got some Bulgarian feta cheese by the pound & it was really good. Kinda funky but in a good way. Store is on the smaller size so I didn't find some of my Middle Eastern spice staples, but he probably has every specialty Persian grocery item you'd want. The other reviewers aren't kidding about the extensive pipe/smoke display. It's pretty impressive. You can get great hookah/ shisha supplies here too. This might be the best store I've ever been to. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. They will answer any questions you have, but they will not pester you if you just want to browse. I have to give a special shout-out to Armin! When it comes to smoking, he knows his stuff and is always willing to help. He has a great sense of humor and appears to genuinely love what he does. Does he ever have a bad day? I wouldn't feel right finishing this review without mentioning that they are actually willing to work with whatever price range you give! This is an incredible Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Market. Armin was so friendly and helpful and single handily proves that customer service is not dead. He gave me great advice on what I needed for my own recipe and turned me on to the other great variety of spices, nuts, and fruits they have on hand. Tastings are highly encouraged and once you taste the high quality dates and nuts that Armin will be happy to tell you about, you'll be wanting to take them home.
