I looked into their website to get an idea of prices for my 5 year old's cleats. They have options for used and new, as low as $8! Very affordable. Upon arrival, their door was open. The inside is very spacious and right away we were greeted. I asked for help since it was our first time. The attendant immediately took us to a corner with all of the junior cleats. They had limited sizing, but thankfully my daughter found a good fit. They didn't have half sizes, but was assured a snug fit was necessary. We happened to get a new cleat and it was $20, much cheaper than Walmart (~$28). They didn't have junior mouth guards, but was recommended to Walmart. Overall, great customer service. The attendant helped her fit in the cleats and gave his professional opinion on how they should fit, etc. We were in and out within 10-15 min. They also have rewards, which I opted in. Also, I will most likely come back to sell back the shoes once she grows out of them.

As I walked up I asked if they had cleats and the one talking could not stop for a second but another employee told me "they are back by the stairs". Didn't offer to help and just pointed. After looking around I left the store completely disgusted with their service. I was forced to return due to 2 other stores not having any in stock. I chose a pair of cleats and asked for football gloves. An employee tried to point in another direction and only agreed to show me when I asked if I could interrupt their conversation and have someone show me what gloves they had. Teen (or early 20s) employees should not be managed by another teen (or early 20s) individual. Learn what customer service is if you are going to be working retail. You are not paid to socialize! I would have rather spent my hard earned money elsewhere!

As we walked in he asked the lady at the register where the restroom was, rudely, she replied, we do not have public restrooms, so we walked right back out, loaded the baby, and went home. We will never buy from Big 5 again. When we told our family members my son said he stopped shopping there for the exact same reason. To us it was more about not having a restroom accessible to customers but to get the rudeness as well was just that much more disappointing and upsetting. I will be sure to spread the experience.

5 Stars? Yes, for a muni course in Albuquerque, this course gets 5 stars. A year later and you would not know it. City guys did an outstanding job of getting this excellent course back in shape. Hat tip to the city workers at all of Albuquerque's muni courses. Some of the guys at Arroyo have been there many years and they care about that course. One practice green for chipping (with a bunker) and two for putting. Pretty good driving range, but in the winter don't expect a lot of good grass. You will have various "lies" on this course. More slope in the fairways than most courses in Albuquerque. A down hill putt away from the mountain? Be careful, that's going to be a fast putt! Normally they will have a beverage cart out every day. Tip them well! Cafe has better than average food for sure. Tip them well too! Everybody is friendly and many of the staff members are long time employees, which in my mind indicates a good work environment, which results in good friendly service. The City's Point-of-Sale system slows everything down during check-in, but that's true at all four muni courses. A pretty scenic course considering it's in the middle of the city. The Sandia mountains can present several different "looks" depending on cloud drape, crisp air, or even dusted in snow (yes, in Albuquerque you can play golf in a light jacket one day, and go skiing the next day). On a sunny day with really clear air, the Sandias look like they are 100 yards away - beautiful. Water buckets on number 1 and 10 would be a nice touch. Also seems they don't have the best sand in the bunkers. The sand they use has a lot of tiny rock chips, which will splash up on the greens. Last time out there were no flags on the practice green, so if you hole two or three balls, you've got to fish them out, rather than just pulling them out with the flag. Minor, but it's a nice touch and Arroyo is pretty much the only course that doesn't provide flags. All in all, an excellent value and a fun layout. Highly recommend.

Too many bare spots with sparse grass. This course was once the jewel of Albuquerque and it's a shame to see how far it has deteriorated.
