The fries were some of the saddest looking fries (a small handful of almost shoestring fries came out in a dish that looked like someone else already snabbed half of them??) Service was friendly. And if you did not recognize, we are in the middle of nowhere. Well, let's switch over to the content. The first thing you recognize when entering the restaurant is the very warm welcome and kindness of the owner Giovanni or his staff. Sometimes you feel like being invited by a family member to a dinner. The menu offers a vast variety of Pizzas, Noodles and Italian dishes, including Starters, a Primo, a Secondo as well as Desserts. All in an excellent quality and deliciously prepared. My personal favorite is the Pizza "Boscaiola con Tartufo" (Mushroom Pizza with Truffles) which is epic. But also the rest of the menu is worth trying.

So I pitched in my 16 euros and said I'm a veggie dish (yes yes I normally would be a meat eater, but I had been missing veggies in my life, you can only live off bread and meat for so long haha) We got into Tirano and was told to wait a few minutes and then make our way to the restaurant, we were a group of 45 and we slowly made our way up the hill and towards the restaurant and after about a 10 minute wait we were told our tables were ready, at 1st glance I had no idea how this place was going to fit all of us, but we went in single file into the restaurant (single file because that's how narrow it was) and before I knew it our line was moving up a few flights of stairs. We made it to the 2nd floor and it was a huge room for all us. Bread, water and wine where already at the table waiting for. 1st course came out and since I was a veggie, it was a caprese salad, this was a fresh tasting salad, can't really mess it up, its tomato, mozzarella and basil with seasoning, I was really happy to have veggies in my life. I can also tell you I was thrilled to have an unlimited flow of water to drink. The 2nd course was the local favorite, it was pizzpccheri, buckwheat pasta with veggies and cheese, it was actually pretty good, the texture is different than the pasta we are used to, but it was hardy and good. I suppose to have cured beef sliced so thin is special. Flavor wise it was just okay. The pasta came in really small portions. The dish had cabbages, potatoes, and cheese in it. The waiter came out with a big tray of the pasta and gave people seconds. The tray ran out when it got to me and he went back to get a second tray. But when he came back, he started with another table. I don't know if I really wanted seconds but when others got them and you didn't, it felt unpleasant. (I may be a petite Asian woman, but I can eat seconds!) The saving grace was that the 16 euros included all you can drink still water and house red. So you should just drink as much wine as you can to break even. The waiters came with the dessert menu but that would cost extra.
