We settled on then "Dunkaroo" for my wifes B-Day but she made a suggestion which was we received. Instead of the cake looking like it usually does, she changed the outside icing etc to make it appear different so it wasn't so familiar. Let me say it WAS BEAUTIFUL...the cake? AMAZING as always. Wanted to celebrate Earth Day by recognizing one of my favorite vegan bakeries! I'm not vegan but I love coming here for their food, and it's an extra perk knowing that tasty food can indeed be entirely plant-based. My friend got me cupcakes from here for my birthday years ago and I've loved how enticing/unique their flavors can be (like butterbeer and cafecito mocha--yum!). Their cupcakes look photoshoot-ready with a generous portion of cream sitting on top. But more importantly, they're moist, not too heavy, and offered in a mini size in addition to their standard (which creates less guilt for me if I want to eat multiple flavors). Their coffee is good too (they use Panther Coffee). I've had it sweetened with agave and it definitely hit the spot. One of my favorites include their Cuban sandwich. Like all of their lunch sandwiches, it's only available during 11am - 3pm, and the online ordering website will warn you that the first pick-up time is 11:30am. Yes, the Cuban sandwich is vegan, so don't expect a meaty flavor/texture. The housemade Cuban bread is really soft, well toasted, and there's a nice combination of flavors and textures with the "ham", mojo "lechon", Swiss "cheese", pickles, mayo, and mustard. Another favorite is their guava & cheese pastry. It's pretty sizable (equivalent to a giant cookie), it doesn't skimp on the filling, and it isn't too sweet. How is this vegan--I myself cannot tell. I've ordered both in-store and via online for pickup, and have had no issues. Expect a line outside during lunch hours, but I haven't had to wait more than 15 minutes. Parking has always been available in my experience. Finally, I love that they have seasonal specials that are always so tempting on the ordering site. I recently went back because of the October menu offerings. They were uniquely designed and I wanted to surprise my daughter and her BFF. But I got ahead of myself because a couple of weeks before, I wanted to do something nice for my doctor's MA, and since their office is close by, I ordered a special lunch to be delivered for her. She practically called me with tears of joy to thank me and raved about the Greek Salad with Romaine lettuce, garbanzo beans, red onions almond feta, Kalamata olives, and grape tomatoes. Particularly, about the cute bucket they serve it in. I also sent the Jack-o-lantern chorizo pastries and an iced Hibiscus agua fresca--with a GF mini cupcake to boot. Circling back, I bought the same cute pastries and also cupcakes for my child's get-together and movie night. I also picked up some empanadas. Parlour Vegan doesn't disappoint. Called up yesterday to see if they had Thanksgiving empanadas. The young lady on the phone said they had a tray full and also baked them (frozen) throughout the day. I headed over. Heads up: Limited capacity due to Covid. Two customers at a time. Masks only. The young man that helped me possibly because of the glass barrier and his mask I could not hear him. I motioned that I couldn't hear him and he repeated himself I still had trouble hearing him. The girl was nice chimed in and answered the question I paid for two empanadas and waited outside so the next customer could come in. The young man came outside and politely told me there was a miscommunication and they won't be ready for another 30 minutes. Because I was working I was not able to stay and wait. They wanted to give a store credit but I asked for a refund. They were very kind about it and did give me a full refund. My total time waiting was 35 minutes. Walking away empty-handed was disappointing I noticed on the day-old rack of reduced baked goods the price was kind of high. I remember going here long ago when you could find some thing for $6 - $12 total. These prices were well over $20 ^ I did look at the sweet treats in the case but I remember the frosting was too sweet so I didn't opt for that option. I do bake so I am well aware of the hard work and labor that goes into making treats. But I personally think the prices are a little high. I'm not to sure I'd go back. Great vegan bakery but the prices are sky high . One donut 4.00 and that is too much. Bought 3 empanadas to the tune of 14.00 . To me the food is tasty but the price is ridiculous . They only allow one customer at a time I had to wait a good 10 minutes to get inside and once I placed my order they wanted a tip which is ridiculous Publix doesn't charge for a tip for bagging my groceries. Vegan or not you need to try Parlour! They have great vegan pastries and dessert, my absolute favorite being the butterbeer donut. I tried the empanada for the first time today, it was delicious. I definitely couldn't tell it was vegan (I am not vegan), there was so much flavor. I tried the brown butter latte, which was a little sweet for my liking, but the coffee is solid so it was good. The service is always great, they are always friendly. They are still following social distancing protocol and mask wearing, which helps since the store is on the small side. We came to try some cupcakes. I got coconut which has to be my fave for sure. The icing has coconut shreds which adds more flavor and texture. The mini cupcakes are perfect bite size. Lots of icing for the size of the mini cupcake but the actual cupcakes are very moist, flavor-able and have cute decorations. There's lots of variety here not only cupcakes. There was a bit of a wait when we went because their COVID-19 rules are only 2 people from the same household in the store at once. So we had to queue outside for about 15 minutes. Once we were in, I wasted no time picking out two very pretty doughnuts: butterbeer (I was feeling the Harry Potter vibe) and cake batter. They were very Instagrammable and tasted great. The Napoleon is very decadent and delicious but a little too sweet. The chocolate frosted donut was fine but a little dry. We had the apple turnover the next morning and it was the best. We were introduced to Parlor by our vegan daughter. You would never know that the desserts were vegan. However, I can tell that the empanadas aren't filled with animal meat. The dressings that are included with the empanadas are outstanding. They adhere to social distancing to the max. Only two people in the same party are allowed inside. We bought our daughter two vegan cakes a couple of years ago and everyone at the party thought the cake were beautiful and had no idea that they were vegan until I told them the next day. This place is amazing for vegans and even non-vegans. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious and to top that there gorgeous. I tried 4 and my favorite was the butter beer. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. The cookie dough is also delicious. The sturdy boxes helped me get the cupcakes back to NYC safely! The coffee is great and I ordered a macadamia milk latte. They also have a bunch of food options I highly recommend the empanada. The cauliflower and quinoa empanada is SO GOOD! I wish I bought another one for the plane. I was hesitant about the cauliflower but it really brings a creamier quinoa taste than a true cauliflower one! They really take time in ensuring everything looks good and I admire that. definitely a great place a little difficult to find with Waze but we made it ! Last weekend was Parlour's 4th birthday. I intended on arriving before they open at 10am to be the first 100 for a tote bag full of goodies. Got there at 9:15 and already a line.So I guess this review is rating also their celebration.... as simple as the tote bag is, I loved it; nude colored canvas tote with "Parlour Vegan Bakery" in all caps,black ink with a rad wolf in black ink as well eating what looks like a cookie. Enclosed was a grey tshirt (everyone gets a L),same design as the tote, a coffee mug with same design, and a "mermaid" cookie. When they mentioned this on their instagram, I am expecting a cutout of a mermaid, decorated, but it was a round sugar cookie with rainbow sprinkles on top. I gave it to my friends and they did not like it. They don't have seating inside but they set out beautiful wooden tables outside with tulips in a mason jar as their center piece. Samples of their "mermaid milk" and horchata (I did not get to try them) were available as well as complimentary cotton candy with your purchase. Part of their birthday was offering $1 mini cupcakes and mini donuts. I had the dunkaroo cupcake, strawberry cosmo cupcake, cake batter donut, cookies and cream donut, and the peanut butter+salted caramel donut. I was going to give a 3 star rating because as I have complained before, a lot of their goods are waaaaaay too sweet. After my 2nd MINI donut I felt nauseous. Cupcakes were good but the donuts were not only too sweet but dry, with a cake texture rather than of a donut. So I think I will steer clear of their donuts.I plan on returning so wouldn't make sense to rate any lower than 4. Maybe giving them too much credit since they are vegan and the only vegan bakery that I know of in Broward. I also had their guava and cheese pastry (regular price) which can fool a cuban carnivore. Favorites: tres leches cake, Cuban sandwich, chili lime salad, guava and cheese pastelito, and broccoli empanada. They were Notorious BIG cookies, I had to get them for my Hip Hop themed Food page, _k_r_e_a_m_! I quickly commented on her post and she told me the cookies were from Parlour Vegan Bakery in Boca. I looked them up online and found they also had another location in Plantation that is much closer to my home. I drove over Saturday morning and to my disappointment, they were out of the BIG cookies but they did however have the cutest green Marijuana leaf shaped cookies. I bought those instead and posted the most 420 day appropriate picture with them. No, the cookies do not have CBD or Marijuana, they are Vegan Chocolate and they are crisp and delicious. At $3.50 each they better be decent! We also purchases a Snickerdoodle mini-cupcake for $2 that was equally good and a fresh Chickpea Chili Lime Salad for $7. Parlor Vegan Bakery is a bit pricey but you are paying for quality and of course the fact that they are vegan bumps up the price. They do however have the cutest decorated desserts, cakes and goodies, look them up online. The store was packed and if anything I would take a star rating away since it took forever to pay for my items since they had one cashier doing it all. The store is tiny and it was full with customers so it felt cramped. Needless to say they were very nice and welcoming and there was no need to bump them down, I get it...this is a small mom and pop place not a commercialized business. I will be back to Parlour. I have to wait another year now to order the Notorious BIG and also Tupac cookies since they only offer them once a year on their passing anniversary. I tried to call in my order while driving to the venue until found out I had to pay over the phone; one cannot call then pay upon arrival. This was an unfortunate inconvenience for me so I decided to order in-person instead. Only two people are allowed inside at a time (in accordance with COVID precautions). Small yellow stickers are placed on the pavement to enforce social distancing amongst customers waiting outside. Upon entry, I was greeted with a smile and a peppy "hello" by a staff member. I ordered a Cuban sandwich, an iced latte with macadamia milk (as recommended), and finally purchased the guava and cheese pastry I've yearned to try! Since sandwiches are made to order, expect to wait anywhere from 20-30 minutes for it to be ready. After waiting out the time, I returned, called the venue to request curbside pickup, and received my sandwich and a warmed up pastry promptly. Consistency is key here at Parlour! I've ordered their Cuban sandwich three times and each time, it tasted exactly the same; hearty and outstanding! Now, the real wow-factor item was the guava and cheese pastry. One bite and I instantly fell in love with the pastry's sweet, flaky, crumbly crust, and gooey center oozing with that holy cream cheese and guava combination! AMAZING!! Now I totally understand why those are always sold out when I visit, they are insanely amazing! Truthfully, I loved the vegan form of this pastry more than the ones I've had from regular Cuban restaurants and bakeries! To me, Parlour's sandwich and pastry were worth every calorie! While the food here is outstanding, the only flaw I found was the lack of notice specifying to "pay over the phone for call-in orders" on either their website or social media platforms. It's hard to find vegan places around here that have a lot of variety and are actually good, so Parlour has been one of my favorites since I started coming here when they first opened. I have tried almost every thing they offer, and it's always tasty. However, the quality has definitely gone down throughout the years while prices have gone up. My favorite things to get were the apple pastelito, which is out of season now I believe, and the Pizza Roll, but I just went a few days ago and found out that they got rid of the roll completely. This was really the only reason I kept coming back since it was so delicious and everything else is too sweet for me to have too often. The broccoli potato empanada is good too, but doesn't compare to the pizza roll, especially with how much you get for the price. I want to keep supporting them, but with all the changes they have made it's just not the same anymore. Even the energy in the store is not the same. The new workers always seem annoyed and just aren't as peppy as the previous ones. I feel like the changes in the setup have not improved either, like with how you have to order at the register now and they grab the pastries after you order. They have forgotten some of my pastries and sauces more than once now in the past few months. This is a bakery you should visit at least once, especially if you are vegan, but I don't think they are good enough anymore to go regularly. read more

Always in search of baked goods that I can eat without questioning them about every ingredient 10 times! So this is the place where I was blown away by their selection. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted. Service was amazing. I inquired about a bunch of things and she patiently explained everything to me. They do serve coffee and a nice selection of teas. We got the hibiscus tea. They have an option of adding some agave or organic sugar if you need. We got corn and black bean empanada, onion and cheese roll, brownie and chocolate mocha cupcake (those pictures are missing, it didn't make it to picture time). Everything was amazing. The empanada had an interesting black bean, quinoa and corn filling and tasted really good. The roll was really soft, which can be hard to achieve with vegan food sometimes. But, the definite winners were the brownie and the cup cake! Ah so soft and amazingly chocolatey! I am definitely one of those people who don't believe in a thing as too much chocolate. Parlour's open until 7pm which is great. I drove 25 minutes was super excited to try because of the raving reviews... Color me deceived! Walking in I felt a little discouraged because the frosting on the cupcakes looked so stiff. But I didn't want to judge a book by its cover and I drove 25 minutes. Ordered 6 mini cupcakes and they were ALL incredibly dry and dense. I mean, you scrunch the bottom of the cupcake and it was not moving. The frosting was also so dry it just flaked off. I was most excited for the filled passion fruit flavor and to this day I am still in search for the filling. Total disappointment. My boyfriend had the "beef" and potatoes Colombian empanada. Again, dense and dry but the overall flavor wasn't bad. What would have been nice is if we had the option to heat it up! I'm paying close to $6 for a dry and cold empanada. However, the salsa it comes with was excellent. Overall, I don't think I would be so disappointed if I didn't know you could have a vegan cupcake without sacrificing the texture and flavor. They're on the more expensive side (two patty's, 2 lattes and one donut ran me about $38 without tip) but it's worth it if you're vegan and really itching for a well made baked good. I appreciate and support local businesses in Plantation/Fort Lauderdale area especially during this time. I have recently been back on the vegetarian train , and have been wanting to try Parlour Vegan. It offers delicious vegan and vegetarian food. During this time of quarantine they offer their curbside pick up option which is great. You simply click on their website, place an order and it will let you know in how long you can pick it up. Keep in mind it may take a couple of hours, so order a bit in advance. I ordered the following: 1. Italian Sub- The sub is amazing it is very similar to a very well-made meat sub. 2. The Ice tea vital nutrients is so refreshing in flavor. 3. Iced latte with macadamia milk-unfortunately they were out of milk but this milk is creamy and very delicious. 4. Churros Donut- Definitely reminded me of the churro flavor. 5. Pork" w/ mojo yucca empanada and 6. Columbia's "beef" and potato empanada. The empanadas we're so full of flavor especially because it imitates real meat. I will definitely place an order again I spent about more or less $30 on my order but it was well worth the money! . read more

Loved this place when we were visiting Sunrise, FL and definitely will be going back again whenever we're back in the area! They had the best gluten-free donuts I've ever had and OMG are they delicious!!! The coffee cake donut and the chocolate peanut butter caramel one were both INCREDIBLE but had to come back to get another coffee cake donut before we left since it was soo good!! The donuts are big and cakey in texture. Also had an iced matcha latte with oat milk, which I really liked as well, especially since it wasn't too sweet. As someone who is gluten and dairy-free, I was in heaven here with the donut selection! read more
