My grandparents lived here for over 10 years, a few years ago. They lived in a couple of different apartments, and seemed to really enjoy living here. The apartments are angular, but otherwise unremarkable. The units have basic kitchens, fairly large bathrooms, and comfortable living spaces.
The common areas, are generationally appropriate. They seem a bit dated, but for the population that lives here, I'm sure they're just fine. It doesn't seem like residents spend much time sitting in the lobby anyway.
There is a laundry room, which my grandfather really enjoyed taking advantage of. He always liked doing laundry. The elevators were a little slow, but that's OK, at least they were always working.
We most often visited to share a meal with my grandparents, the dining room is comfortable and a leisurely place to share a meal. The food was OK, but not spectacular. We came for many holidays and special occasions, and there were usually appropriate meals for these dates. My grandparents enjoyed having regular and consistent options for their meals, the serving sizes were also very appropriate, a match for their appetites.
Parkway Village is owned by a large conglomerate, it doesn't have a very personal touch. The managers changed now and then, so it doesn't feel like a local place. My grandparents enjoyed and utilized the Parkway Village shuttle bus, for rides around town, appointments, and tours, they loved that this amenity was available to them. read more
