It was my birthday so I figured I'd get one. I purchased a FunFetti cupcake and video taped the robotic arm scooping up my little morsel. As I turned, low and behold, the OWNERS arrived with new trays of cupcakes to load the machine. As they eyed me for videoing their machine I said nervously.. IT'S MY BIRTHDAY SO I GOT ONE! The owners laughed and said IN THAT CASE HAVE ANOTHER ONE FOR FREE...... that's right I got two cupcakes on my birthday! Oh yea.. and the mall is nice. As other reviewers have already commented, the parking lot is small, and it can be challenging to pull in and out of spaces. Furthermore, this mall is right next to Banksville Road, which often has very busy traffic. I have not experienced major problems with other vehicles, but I can understand how other customers do.

During my most recent visit, this mall had some empty storefronts but was far from dying. In 2026, the anchor stores are Macy's, JCPenney, and Dick's Sporting Goods. Examples of clothing stores are American Eagle, Children's Place, Express, H&M, LOFT, and Victoria's Secret. Examples of stores for shoes and accessories are Foot Locker, Journeys, Lids, and Shoe Dept. Service businesses include salons, cell-phone carriers, optometrists, and the National Guard. Restaurants include several national chains such as Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon as well as local restaurants such as ChinaMax and Moon Sushi. The parking lot has a sufficient number of spaces for vehicles, even on the busier weekends, and the interior of the mall looks safe and clean.

There is a huge parking lot (paid) behind the entire building and there are metered spaces in the front. They often host events like outdoor fitness classes, farmers markets and car shows. It really is amazing that you could mini golf, get a facial, drink wine or beer, eat delicious food, shop for books or grab a coffee all within a small area. There are several cut through areas which make it more manageable to get to your desired location from the parking lot. The biggest downside to me is that I wish there were more local businesses. While there is nothing wrong with chains, the Strip is such an important part of Pittsburgh's history that I wish it contained more independent businesses and restaurants and less chains.

I hung my items up so the attendant could count them and she noticed I had a Starbucks drink and told me I had to either leave it in the cart or with her at the counter (GROSS!). I definitely wasn't doing that, so she wouldn't let me try the clothes on. She was super rude about it too. I told her that I walked around the store with it, so what was the difference if I brought it in the fitting room?? I could have spilled it anywhere in the store and it would have had to have been cleaned up. If drinks aren't allowed, they should post it. It was just an off-putting experience and I told her that I'm a grown up and I can handle having a drink. In the past, I also had a bad experience with this attendant. She's miserable. To sum it up, I left the store without trying on the clothes. The line is always massively long when I go in here anyway. I doubt that I will go back to this location again.
