Parkview Field lit up for the holidays
Richard P.

Parkview Field is a downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana baseball field and complex that serves as the home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, a high-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Formerly known as the Fort Wayne Wizards, the team was bought by Hardball Capital in 2006 and efforts began to create a complex to support the team and enhance the business area in downtown Fort Wayne. The field opened in 2009 as a partnership with Parkview Health. The now 15-year-old stadium is beautiful and much better than what you might expect. That said, if you haven't been to Fort Wayne recently, the city has really grown and it's downtown area is quite nice. Parkview Field hosts a variety of community events including a holiday light show - my reason for my most recent visit. Rental options for events include: Suite Level Lounge: Capacity 220 Lincoln Financial Event Center: Capacity 220 400 Club: Capacity 150 Meeting Room: Capacity 25 Concourse: Capacity varies The venue actually hosts around 600 non-baseball related events annually and can be used for weddings and a variety of other events. There's something about the layout that really lends itself to a beautiful light display. I love the weaving together of lights, the ballfield, and a view of downtown Fort Wayne. Parking is pretty easy to find around the field at affordable prices. There are also hotels that are super close including a Courtyard by Marriott and a Hampton Inn. I'm not quite fully informed on actual accessibility, however, I will note I had no difficulty getting where I wanted to go. Obviously, in terms of games there are some limitations and some designated areas. Since the last time I wheeled through Fort Wayne, the downtown area has vastly improved and I was quite impressed. That said, if there are concerns I'd contact the stadium for more information.

A very clean stadium with spacious walkways all the way around. There's not a bad seat in the house and you can even watch from the kids play area and the splash pad in the outfield. Ballpark pricing is comparable to other places; and they have some great discount days including $2 beers and discount food nights. Fireworks through the week are also a great show. They last about 15 mins and are worth staying for!

Arguably, the best MiLB ball park in the country... Parkview Field is nothing short of outstanding... For a MiLB ball park, this field is on another level. It's small and quaint, but has a Big League feel... It kind of reminds me of a smaller version of Progressive Field in Cleveland. With a 360 degree view, there's not a bad seat in the house. Parkview keeps the in-game entertainment lively and has excellent food/drink options (at reasonable prices), and you can't beat $14/ticket for field seats on 1st or 3rd base. All-in-all, Parkview is one of if not the best places in the country to catch a MiLB game... The Tincaps certainly do it right and know how to take care of their fans.

Loved visiting this field. Parking was a breeze. The security check in was very easy , got to my seats right away, the visitors dugout, first row -saw the entire field... do not and I repeat do not place anything in front of you on top of the dugout if you do , you will get reprimanded, I swear you will. Prices were very cheap. I got these tickets at $14 a ticket, it was $2 dollar hotdog night. It was a Marvel themed night. They had fireworks , I got to run the bases. I had wine slushy's, got autographs on a baseball at the visitor team buses, it was so much fun.

Parkview Field is an absolutely beautiful ballpark. I was shocked by how large it is as its the home for a high a team, the Fort Wayne TinCaps. I am not originally from the area, so I never expected to see such an impressive stadium. The stadium has a significant amount of concession stands, so while you may have to wait in line, you will not wait long. It is very east to find your seat, and the seats are wide and comfortable. Seat tickets are very affordable... i paid $20 each for ones behind home plate. My only gripe about the ballpark is how hard it is to find good parking. Most stadiums I have been to have large parking near the stadium. My family and I had to park out vehicle several blocks away from the stadium for the game. My mom has mobility issues, so that was unpleasant. The food in the stadium is good considering its fast food/concession stand food. Plenty of options. They also have family feast night where hot dogs and sodas are $2 each, which is a steal! My family had an incredible time at this stadium. The game between the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Fort Wayne TinCaps was amazing. I have never seen so many hits in one game, 30 hits! The games lead changed several times throughout the game. The game wasn't even decided until the end when Nerwilian Cedeno made a game winning single in the bottom of the 9th! It was incredibly dramatic! I also love the little games and entertainment they had every few innings... my favorite was DJ TinCat! After the end of the game, since it was the 4th of July, we saw the Fort Wayne Fireworks display inside! So much fun! TinCaps are awesome! This stadium is great! Loved every moment in here!

Tough to not like a downtown ball field and Parkview in Ft Wayne is no exception. Great location and sightlines throughout the park, along with a wide variety of seating options at different price points. Parking was a snap at a local business for 5 bucks...can't beat that. My only complaint was for single A ball, I thought the concessions prices were JUST a bit high. I get that it is a business, but the product on the field doesn't justify it. And equivalent cost in Indianapolis will get you a bonus of a much better baseball game. We had a good time, nice venue.

Pregame seating.

This was my first trip to Indiana as well as my first single A game. Bathrooms are clean, team shops have a nice selection (hats were on par with price, but clothing was overpriced). Parking was cheap and very close to the field. The team stinks and the in-between inning entertainment was hit/miss. The home team has the first base side. We sat on the third base side and it got shaded around the third inning for a night game. There are plenty of affordable tickets in various locations. I'd definitely return.

Wow! Parkview Field puts the "Park" in BallPark! Baseball season is over for these youngsters so 3/4 of us Funksters are in Fort Wayne to attend a nuptial ceremony. Now fun of funs, Parkview Field home of the local Tincaps, is in the backyard of our hotel and by the picture attached, i do mean backyard! It is a beautiful ballpark that is nothing if not welcoming. As I said earlier, the minor league season is over yet the gates are open for the public to wander in and roam around... how cool is that! Try that at Progressive Field. The concourse is wide, the seats comfortable and the field itself, beautifully grass-ified (well it is the off-season). So a couple of phone-snaps later and it's off to the team store to peruse the swag... and some sweet swag it is, from the simple and affordable to the fine higher end. As we Funksters, travel around to the ballparks of the south and midwest, we keep to the simple and affordable for our remembrances. All in all a trip back to the Tincaps diamond will be in the future... in-season next time. Can't wait!

Parkview Field hits it outta the park. Seriously. This is one of my favorite places to visit during the warmer months. Great baseball. Great atmosphere. Great for Downtown Fort Wayne. I have enjoyed many Thirsty Thursday @ Tincaps. $1 beer and you've got me sold. If you are planning on taking the family to a good ole baseball game on a Thursday, expect drunk 21-year-olds. Although I am post college I still enjoy some $1 beers from time to time and the entire lawn area is full of a younger crowd usually drinking lots of beer and hardly watching the game. I suggest buy tickets in seats for those games if looking to avoid the long beer lines. Seems there are always fireworks after the games....and they are SPECTACULAR. Tickets are very reasonable and with free fireworks, you can't beat that. Perfect date night or night out with the fam. They are regularly hosting themed games - so be sure to check out their Facebook or Twitter to stay in the loop!
