I walked into the store holding a Charlotte Russe bag and the guy working there started yelling at me across the store, not even bothering to walk up and address me personally, asking me if I needed help. I told him I was just looking and he continued to harass me by saying "I see Charlotte Russe got some of your money, we will gladly take more of your money. What did you get? A shirt or something?" And I then had to embarrassingly tell him that I had actually bought underwear in front of the whole store. He then continued to try to convince me to buy some of their underwear (which are just boxer briefs) hardly taking no for an answer. Finally I just laughed uncomfortably and walked out. This is unfortunately not the first bad experience. They will not be getting my business.

I have been an Alpine Shop customer for years. They have a good selection for a smaller store, and…read morethe staff really know their stuff. Because they are a smaller shop, you get more hands-on customer service. They also offer classes and lectures for different outdoor activities (kayaking, hiking, etc.). It is a great place to go if you are a novice or a more experienced outdoorsman. My most recent experience at the Columbia Alpine Shop illustrates just why I like this place so much. My husband and I went in to get new hiking boots. We are getting into overnight backpacking, and need hiking boots that can stand up to long, multi-day hikes. A staff member (named Adam) approached us within a minute or so to see if we needed help. He then spent over and hour helping us try on and test various boots. Being an experienced backpacker, Adam had some personal recommendations on boots and was able to highlight in detail the pros and cons of each boot we tried. We had done some research going in, but Adam helped us make a much more educated choice. We were able to test the boots on a hill imitator Alpine Shop had in the boot section, and they even let us put on a pair of thicker socks (without buying them) to test fit. This is a friendly, laid-back shopping experience, and while inventory might not be as large as big chain stores, the service and expertise you get at Alpine Shop makes it my top choice for outdoor gear shopping in Columbia.

She obviously couldn't deny selling it to someone else, but I was happy to pick it up. Also their stone carvings and statues are masterpiece's. But they are nothing compared to the staff. I hope they keep up running for years to come. I've even tried to volunteer there, but they have unfortunately turned me down. I'll definitely keep trying though. I highly recommend everyone visit this store. You won't be disappointed! If I was being forced to choose something to be bummed about it would be that their jewelry is silver. But then the billing started, every month I get a bill for $50, for a lease. How long, well it's not on the bill, I'd like to just pay the damn thing off but I can't. You also can't take billing question to them, it's shady. Now it's been a year and they are still coming, I paid $800 up front. If you look back at the reviews over the years this complaint is fairly common so I don't know why they wouldn't just provide the billing information unless there is something to hide. I go to their website to get the billing contact and there is a message about a mandatory recall on my machine, they never called about that, they can certainly harass me for $50. I wish I had never set foot in the door, and just purchased a unit outright off the internet they are about $1100. In the past I have been pleased with their pharmacy, but I'll never deal with these people again, I would suggest going anywhere else.
