They ordered the parts and within a few days they had my van fixed! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME w/ GERBER AUTO COLLISION in Avon. Go to MidValley Auto in Eagle-Vail. Granted my repair was less than a 2 hr job but not only could the other repair shop not give me an appointment sooner than 5 weeks but MidValley also quoted the job for 40% less than Gerber! They stopped billing us for it…read moreand unbeknownst to me had it booted, towed and impounded at Mat Dog - even though it had a permit. Up to that point my issue is with the HOA. I was VERY displeased to learn when I called in to find out where the camper was (who checks a storage lot every day?) that Mat Dog had kept it for 8 DAYS before contacting me to let me know they had it - and that contact only happened because I went looking for it. Temple (the owner?) basically told me that they could wait 10 days legally before they had to call. But why would anyone wait that long?? Oh right - because they charge $30 each day - and why not make $300 extra dollars by avoiding resolving an obvious issue. They could not meet me when I tried to show up that day during business hours - but said they wouldn't charge more than the [unnecessary] 8 days, only to have the driver that met me the following morning reply with 'we charged you for 12 days'. And that was on top of towing and booting charges. Almost $600!!! If I owned a towing company - and wanted to do as their website claims: "to serve the people of Carbondale and the surrounding area as best we can... We pride ourselves on the reputation that we have built over the years for excellent customer service" I would probably start by calling an unsuspecting person on DAY 1 to let them know I had their property, and not just let the bill rack up for the sole purpose of financial gain at their expense. And I've owned a successful company in the valley for over 17 years - and have seen unethical companies come and go during that time. At no point was Temple interested in making this right. No 'hey - my bad for not calling you... I'll just charge you for the tow and 2 days'. That leaves me with no other conclusion than this company is run unethically, and as such - I recommend avoiding them at all costs.

I had jumpstarted my rental car that morning and the car's computer was freaked out; so I needed to reset the car's computer to get the electronics working properly before the long trek back to Denver. I knew what I needed to do, and the wrench to do it. I just needed the wrench for 60 seconds to get me back on the road. CATS didn't need to help me out for nothing, but it would have been the right thing to do. The guy at the counter rudely explained they wouldn't give me the 10mm wrench to unhook my battery for 5 seconds and tighten it back down. He said the mechanic could "come look at it," but I'd be charged the hourly rate. Please. I told him I'd just go to the auto parts store and get a loaner set of tools for a 60-second fix - which is precisely what I did - and fixed it. My experience should give you a sense of this place. I wouldn't trust them for any car service whatsoever. They're about milking money out of people and not much else. Stay away!
