Anyways I notice when going to work early morning my Chevy Trailblazer (Who I named Old Faithful) was reving really hard. As I continued to drive it out to where I had to go the Check Engine light went on. I had this problem before which is an Engine Misfire. On one of the Sparkplugs and Cylinders. I had contact my relative and she sent me to Midas In Eden Prairie, MN. Boy DID I MAKE A BIG MISTAKE. Midas told me I had to replace a whole cylinder head!! IT was gonna cost me $6k!! That is like a good used car! On top of that they we're inspecting other parts of the car that was not necessary! Unfortunately, I had to pay $122 for the diagnostic but I by change had contacted on Craig's List another Mechanic who referred me to Erik. I had told Erick and he himself was shocked at my story! He new Midas was BS-ing and I went to him. My engine was still fine! I just needed new spark plugs which he believed Midas technicians damage by pulling it out the improper way and new great quality coils which I should have don vs buying from Ebay. They dipped the tire in soapy water to see if there was any air leaking out and found three holes in it! They even brought out the tire to show me the holes! They were able to fill the holes with plugs but honestly told me I'm probably going to need new tires soon... which I had already suspected. Granted they didn't do any mechanical work to my car, I trust their judgment and like that they are family-owned. I'm planning on returning for auto work. They have done some extensive repairs for me in the past but now the next generation is coming up and driving. My son wanted some noises investigated on his car that were driving him crazy, I didn't have a lift to look under the entire car. I asked him to stop by Main Street Automotive and they would take good care of him. My son, a 21 year old stopped by there after he got off of work to see how they could help fix his car. They treated my kid like they should, they were friendly and polite, they also explained things to my son who isn't interested in working on cars or had much know-how. My son didn't feel like they rushed him or talked down to him and as always, they do a good job. I even called to get the details from the mechanic on details that my son didn't know. They were happy to explain to me what the issues were and when i mentioned a noise that my son hadn't brought up, he said, "Yeah I heard that and I fixed that too, at no charge." it was just a shield vibrating underneath the car, it just took a minute.
