I also asked whether I could supply my own boxwoods to help manage costs. I was told someone would get back to me to address my questions, but no one ever followed up. In addition to the lack of measurement-based estimating, the proposal included no pricing breakdown for the payment schedule, no mention of a deposit, and no information on when the project would start or how long it would take to complete. For a project of this size and cost, these are basic details I would expect to see clearly spelled out. In the end, the lack of communication, vague quoting, and absence of essential project information left me with zero confidence in their process.
