There's as much of a small town vibe as one can expect out of a faceless, monstrous, anonymous giant retail construct. In any case, I don't feel as rushed or as crowded in or in danger of trampling ankle biters. The people who ask if I need help appear to be sincere about it and happy to be asking. They tend to watch the line up-front and get more cashiers on as appropriate. They also seem to try harder to fix things, find things and get things. Maybe it's because I'm not in any rush when I'm visiting family in Red Deer instead of being in the rush of my life in the City, but I find this to be a kinder, gentler Chapters.

I got 2 boxes of very cute Papyrus Christmas cards (sparkles and colourful!). Each pack had 16 for $20.75. They gave a little discount at the register, something like $5 off when you buy 2 boxes. I actually need one more box, I will return next week and get a box of smaller cards, Papyrus of course! They are my fav! Got some yummy Starbucks, the line is always super long here, but shopped a bit then got our drinks. Also picked up 2 packs of the cutest book marks for my fiance, a little Peanuts (Snoopy) holiday book and a onesie for my niece-2-be, it is really cute, all white and says "Little Sister" in pink. Great location and I always love my Chapters :)

When I am intent on finding something interesting to wear, I make sure I stop in Cobb's because more often than not, I walk out with a purchase and usually at a reasonable price because the sale rack or the sales are really good. The best part of the deal is that I don't have to get my butt to Red Deer of Calgary to brave the crowded malls and stores. I am going to confess that I am not the thinnest girl in the crowd so my Sylvan boutique shopping experiences have left me feeling sort of disenchanted because I am usually just shy of fitting whats on the rack. But Cobb's is my exception to the rule. Its selection has something for everyone. It ranges from young and trendy to old lady chic that goes from casual to dressy. It carries shoes, accessories and has a nice selection of swimwear. It even carries body shaping undergarments. There is also a selection of casual menswear, but the sore is most geared towards women. The staff is friendly and helpful. I've found myself coming in to the store, looking for items and having the staff helping me search the racks and bring me some nice clothing pieces to try on in the dressing room. I'll note that the regular prices are generally higher end, but if you keep an eye out for their promotions and/or take a peek in the discount section, you can find yourself a steal of a deal. If you are in Sylvan, ladies especially, this store is definitely worth a look.

I'm a plus size girl (size 16/18) and I was fed up with 'Well, it won't fit but we can hold it up in front of you!', but that was not at all the experience here! I'd pretty much given up on finding 'the one' and had planned on just settling for an ok one I found in Edmonton. I visited last Sunday during their Sample Sale. The store was very busy with the sale, but the ladies working there made me feel like I was the only bride they were helping. After trying on my third dress, and asking what it was I liked/didn't like, the lady helping me lit up and said "I know the PERFECT dress for you!" and off she ran. She came back a moment later with the dress. She was right - it fit like a dream, and gave me shivers! I did not want to take it off. Even though they were busy and could have used the change room, they gave me all the time I needed and never once rushed me. I was able to spin and admire myself in the mirror as much as I wanted to. Beautiful Christian bookstore…read more We come to Red Deer just to shop at this store. Books for everyone in the family! The prices are great. The home decor is absolutely beautiful. What a great place to buy a gift. A great assortment of Christian greeting cards. Just wish they had more KJV cards! (Lost a star for that) Many bibles to choose from. DVD section is decent. Wish they had more old movies. Definitely have the latest movies. They have books, activity books and toys for the holidays. We bought a set of Resurrection Eggs for Easter.

She helped me with choosing table styles and colors also made sure we were getting the best deal that we could before ordering the table. She would even text me instead of having to go in all time for any questions we both had, that made things so much easier with having three kids. The day I did go in to select colors she was so good with the kids and let them sit on the beds which kept them busy and happy! I will recommend her to anyone and La-Z-Boy seems like a great place to shop with amazing quality furniture.

On September 1st I walked into the store with $1000 and ordered three pieces, a couch and two chairs. I was told the furniture would take 6-8 weeks to arrive. I expected the furniture to arrive well before Christmas. When the furniture did not arrive by Christmas I started calling the store and visiting the store on a regular basis, I always talked to the sales person who took my order, her name was Christine. Every time I got a different excuse and most of the time she didn't know why the furniture was late. At NO time did she EVER call me or email me to keep me updated. Had she taken the time to call or email, I might not have been so mad. Once they got my money I was ignored. The furniture finally arrived February 25th - 6 months after I ordered it. When the truck arrived at our house, we were not at home so they took the furniture back to the store. I had called Christine and told her specifically to call my husbands cell phone when the truck was on its way so someone could be there, she did not do that and our furniture went back to the store. The second time the truck arrived, my husband was at home and the truck driver refused to unload the furniture unless we paid the remaining balance owed. That was not our original deal, we had signed up for the 12 payment plan at the store with a $1000 down payment. My husband was on the phone with the store for 30 minutes until they finally convinced the truck driver to unload our furniture. The customer service I received was so unbelievably bad that if there was a zero rating, that's what they would get. Christine eventually told me that our order had been LOST at the factory and she had to re-order the furniture which is why it took so long. I'll never buy anything from Lazy Boy, and my advice to other people is BUYER BEWARE.

The salesperson whose name was Angel helped him to find the right pair, the right size and length. When he was looking at himself in the mirror she insisted he needed to try on a pair of dress shoes. They made the outfit look great; and the shoes were very fashionable and fit good. So he got shoes as well. Thank you Angel we will come back again. We had fun and the service was a 10/10.

Spent a long time trying to get a discount only to hear that in Edmonton or Calgary they simply just do the discount as our company purchases lots of clothing at Moores. Was disappointed when I bought a travel bag and realized I could have used a 50% off coupon and as I had already purchased it they would not take the discount off even two days later after a coworker had informed me about the offer. Anyway decent for mid priced suit items. Clothing will wear out a bit faster I find but all in all I have good experiences here hence the returns by me!
