Having said that... I got some great deals and some kick-ass merchandise. I spent a little more money than I intended to and even bought some stuff for myself. I wish I'd had more time to shop, but maybe that's it's a good thing I didn't. The leisure wear stores, while being close together, each had different stuff that was unique and adorable. Skeleton and devil onesies? Wanted to buy them all. Cartoon underwear for him and her? I could go on and on. They had a Body Shop and a Bath and Body Works, both had great product and fantastic deals. I like how no one pounced on me as soon as I walked in. Can't say that for Edmonton Malls. I got Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte body scrub and shower gel plus a Perfect Autumn Day body mist that smells like apples for less than $20. And coupons. The Body Shop had some great sales. I especially liked how i got an anti-aging pomegranate set worth $58 for $40. I renewed my Body Shop membership card for $10 and got to use it for $13 in savings. Love that. But their Ardene store is AMAZING. This store doesn't stop at accessories and jewelry. They have clothes, footwear and pajamas. (Red Deer must be big on pajamas.) There's an extensive selection of decent shirts, pants, scarves, etc at pretty fair prices. I could have spent an hour in there! Bought some cool stocking stuffers and a couple of cheap surprise bags that had not bad stuff in them. Not going to spoil it for you, but some of the items in them were worth five bucks or more on their own, and not everything was crap they just couldn't sell. This place also has a decent sized food court and a Hudson's Bay and Toys R' Us. Next time I'm in Red Deer, I'll try to make more time for this place.

Considering the number of boutique-like that shops in Sylvan Lake that focuses on higher-end…read moreclothing for men and women, one wouldn't think that a clothing store that is in conjunction with a grocery store has anything remotely interesting, but in this case I will tell you that you are wrong. When I am intent on finding something interesting to wear, I make sure I stop in Cobb's because more often than not, I walk out with a purchase and usually at a reasonable price because the sale rack or the sales are really good. The best part of the deal is that I don't have to get my butt to Red Deer of Calgary to brave the crowded malls and stores. I am going to confess that I am not the thinnest girl in the crowd so my Sylvan boutique shopping experiences have left me feeling sort of disenchanted because I am usually just shy of fitting whats on the rack. But Cobb's is my exception to the rule. Its selection has something for everyone. It ranges from young and trendy to old lady chic that goes from casual to dressy. It carries shoes, accessories and has a nice selection of swimwear. It even carries body shaping undergarments. There is also a selection of casual menswear, but the sore is most geared towards women. The staff is friendly and helpful. I've found myself coming in to the store, looking for items and having the staff helping me search the racks and bring me some nice clothing pieces to try on in the dressing room. I'll note that the regular prices are generally higher end, but if you keep an eye out for their promotions and/or take a peek in the discount section, you can find yourself a steal of a deal. If you are in Sylvan, ladies especially, this store is definitely worth a look.

Specifically, today. Five star service today. I went in to pick up a vacuum. Nothing ridiculous, as I only have one room that is officially carpeted (other than area rugs). Found what I was looking for, but the item would require a ladder to get to it. Three ladies came to help (maybe I smelled good today? lol). The model I was looking at was not in stock and would no longer be stocked, so they offered the floor model at 20% off. I know, "but Robot, they e-mail you 20% off coupons every other month don't they?" Pretty much, but I forgot to print it off this time around. Well, as it turned out, the thing was broken anyway (determined while trying to remove it from the display). I opted for the model up from it. Up one of them went, and fetched it (yes, they're supposed to, but three of them made it seem like I was not leaving the store disappointed). Anyway, I get to the checkout and go to pay for it. I ended up STILL getting the 20% off, which pretty closely matched the price of the one I was looking at anyway! I go there for my towels, wine glasses, pillows (and other bedding), and random kitchen items. You probably won't find a better wine glass collection in town, that I know of - hey, prove me wrong. :P

She was very quick to approach me when she saw I was looking to get help with a registry. After printing off the registry for me she went online to show me some of my options that were within my spending limit. Very, very pleased…read more A friend of mine recommended Village Goldsmith, when I was looking to have some rings resized. Prices were crazy around town ($40-$45), but Village Goldsmith was much more reasonable at $25 for my silver rings (Yes! He even resizes silver!) & $30 for my white gold rings. The Goldsmith was very friendly & extremely efficient, & his work was impeccable. I feel like I have brand new rings! I will tell all my friends to go to him first, if they ever need any work done on their jewelry. Unfortunately, his shop is tucked away in the Village Mall & not easy to spot. Look for the huge sign in the corner for Blarney Stone Pub & Restaurant, directly below it you will see the word Goldsmith. Walk under the arch & the pub is to the left & the Goldsmith is to the right.

I have gone there on many occasions and am always extremely satisfied with the quality of the work,…read morefriendly service and low prices. You can go there for something simple like a battery for your watch, get jewellery repaired, buy an original piece (not those generic ones you find at the jewellery stores in the malls), or get something created with your own design. I have done all of the above, and am 100% satisfied. If anyone is looking for truly beautiful, out of the ordinary, classy rings, I really recommend you go here first! The place looks small, and is kind of hidden (between the Blarney Stone and Red Deer Buffet) but don't let that deceive you.
